The Climate: The weather is wonderful, very mild and consistent. The climate is the most pleasant in Europe and we have about 260 sunshine days. The Peniche Beaches: In the past was an island and now is the most gorgeous peninsula of Portugal. Here you will find more than 10 beautiful sandy beaches with dunes and 2 fantastic bays. The Waves: This seaside city provides the best European Pipeline by SuperTubos Beach. Peniche is a small peninsula recognized as the most consistent surfing area in Portugal and one of the best in all Europe. Peniche has great surfing conditions to learn surf and get good waves. The Food: The regional gastronomy is based of fresh fish from the sea. Caldeirada (fish casserole), sopa de lagosta à moda de Peniche (Peniche-style lobster soup), arroz de marisco (shellfish risotto) and grilled fish are some of the local specialties. You will find many cheap restaurants specializing in local cuisine and seafood. The History: The city is partially fortified by walls and has a fortress dating from seventeenth century.
