The Casal São João Cottages is a typical Madeiran stone house located in the west of the Madeira Island in Fajã da Ovelha - Calheta, about 58 km from the airport of Santa Cruz and 42 km from the city of Funchal. This construction is dated from the year of 1930 and composed by 6 independent apartments. All apartment are equipped with kitchenette and private bathroom. It's available in the shared social area one jacuzzi with natural water, gym, solarium, barbecue. In the center of Calheta, about 15 km you will find all the facilities and services offered by supermarkets, pharmacys, banks, medical center, traditional shops, restaurants, hairdressers, sandy beach and promenade. Insect and Wildlife Info: Our home is located in a hot and humid climate that is teeming with wildlife. Depending on the time of year and the weather conditions, guests may encounter mosquitoes, gnats, lovebugs or other bugs. While we do utilize regular pest control services, we are unable to offer any guarantees against or refunds for the occasional bug that may make it inside our home. We do our best to prevent this from occurring and guests can help by keeping doors closed and disposing of trash and storing food in a responsible manner.
