Great city to visit. I went for both the beach and the city.
Great city to visit. I went for both the beach and the city. The weather was good, considering the fact that it was the beginning of April.
I used the bus, did not take the Hop-on Hop-off busses because I wanted to get a more authentic experience.
Unfortunately, the water is cold all year round, so it's more a city break destination, than a beach one.

Porto was interesting but the river area was very busy with lots of loud music. It is also very, very hilly. The funicular wasn't working when we visited. this would have made a massive difference to a retired couple with dodgy knees! The Lello bookshop is definitely worth a visit. The Palacio was good too but the guided tours are only 25 minutes. The 6 bridges boat trip only sailed under 4 bridges and pointed out the other 2. The tram trip out to near the Atlantic was great. We took a taxi once to get to our restaurant for dinner but the traffic was so gridlocked, we got out early and walked which was quicker. Our favourite restaurant was Taberna dos Fernandes.

A beautiful, historical, picturesque, plenty to see and to do with or without children. Central streets very crowded so be ready. Also give plenty of time gor everything as transport takes long time due roadworks and hills. Trams is a must so are the beaches. Lots of cafes with wonderful pastries. World Discovery museum was wonderful way to learn about history and experience a boat trip

Porto is a beautiful city, perfect for a short trip.
Porto is a beautiful city, perfect for a short trip. We stayed for 3 nights which is great amount of time to absorb the feel of the city. Although there are buses and a metro line we walked everywhere as we wanted to take in all the sights, the historical centre is relatively small so not a problem, it is very hilly, but as we had been before we were prepared for this. On one of the days we booked a boat trip along the Douro, taking a bus to Regua and returning to the city by boat, this is a full day trip including lunch but totally worthwhile with some stunning scenery.
We also booked the Casa do Fado for a live fado performance which was a great introduction to fado music and its history.
Highly recommend this beautiful city and will definitely be back.
It was my favourite Stay on our trip through Portugal! It felt like an Oasis in the middle of the city, and when you're at the Hotel you can't really believe how close you actually are to the city centre. The garden and the pool really gave it a very special and calm vibe. The staff was also very nice and super helpful and made us feel very welcome.
There's a wine bar right outside the venue with excellent wines and a cool atmosphere.
I would definitely return and recommend this place 100%.
It was one of the most beautiful and quality stays on this trip thrue Portugal.
Let's start at the beginning - the staff is very friendly, respectful and understanding. The hotel is extremely beautiful, the rooms are fantastically super beautiful with a slightly special design. The beds were so comfortable that I left her in the morning with a tear in my eye. Bed linen, top quality 5 star hotel. Breakfast above average. Not to mention the terrace at the top of the hotel with a nice view.
The "house" is situated in a quet, residential area. It is in close proximity to the Metro, groceries, cafes, and restaurants. As it is far enough away from the tourist zone, restaurants are more reasonably priced. The house comes equipped with all the basic amenities. The shower has to be the best we had in all our stay in Portugal. It has a rain shower head and provides adequate water pressure and hot water. In addition, the hosts were very quick to respond to a couple of minor issues.
This is a great hotel in a perfect location in Porto. It's part of a small chain of hotels called FLH (Feels Like Home) that we weren't familiar with but we'll be looking to use again next time we're in Portugal.
The room was on the large side for Europe and extremely well equipped. The morning breakfast buffet was sufficient and the fact that they'll cook you eggs on demand is a nice touch.
I would not hesitate to stay at the Memoria Porto hotel again.
What a place to stay in!
It's probably the best hotel I have stayed in Portugal, if we take into account the cost-benefit ratio.
Every aspect in this hotel was excellent: the employees service and courtesy, the state of the art rooms, the wifi reception (the best I have experienced for years), the rich and varied breakfast, and its main location in the city.
I will certainly recommend this lovely hotel for all of my acquaintances. 10/10
The best hotel I have to in Portugal. The property is in an amazing location: very central, yet out of the touristic chaos. I could see the Dom Luis Bridge from my room! The breakfast is nice and the restaurant offers very nice food (and it's relatively well-priced, considering it's a hotel offer... But please, no more herbs in the Club Sandwich ;) ).
Would definitely recommend and if I go back to Porto, that's where I want to stay!
One of the best boutique hotel
each and every member of staff are very nice! from the Manager of the hotel to all other staff members..
everyone is amazing! Warm Welcome, introduction of the hotel and areas around was perfect explained.. Beautiful hotel interior and theme.. located in central part, everything is nearby
i want to say much more about this place.. but i will suggest to have this experience once
so close to all of the big sights in Porto, but the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Dona Florinda is so helpful and gracious, with great recommendations of what to do and where to eat. she even made reservations for us a couple of times. super clean and modern apartment with a lovely view from the terrace. a wonderful place to spend our first time in Portugal.
Clean, very fresh, nice smell.. I was feeling that came to the place made with love. At home has everything needed, FULLY equipped for life, I could live there with pleasure for a Month )) Has secured parking. I'm very happy and recommend to everyone (families as well). If will come back to Portugal again I will definitely stay there again.
This was the second time we’ve stayed at this hotel and we love it! The staff are excellent, the rooms are comfortable and clean, the location, for us, is perfect and they have underground parking! we live in Portugal and plan to come to Porto often so I can honestly say, we will never stay anywhere else! Thank you Eurostars Heroismo!
The place is DARLING. My room was awesome. The staff was very helpful. The bartender (Daniel) and waitstaff (Bills, was his nickname) were SOOO nice and accommodating! The restaurant is fabulous. The courtyard was lovely. I was traveling solo for this part of my Portugal trip and it was perfect!
An amazing little boutique hotel with beautifully appointed rooms in a central location. The hotel manager and host is the best host I had on
My entire European trip, she was so helpful and it felt I was staying with friends or someone I know. This is more than a 10/10 experience.
FLH is our new favorite hotel chain in Portugal! Each one we've stayed in has been perfectly located, clean, well-appointed, quiet (despite traffic or pedestrians outside) with friendly, knowledgable staff and a delicious full breakfast. We highly recommend it!
Excellent staff gave us a very warm welcome and a ton of advice when we arrived. Including eating at the restaurant a few doors from the hotel. The restaurant was the best we experienced in Portugal. We had a suite at the back which was quiet and comfortable
It's a very social hostel you'll get to meet a lot of people in the common area, they also provide dinner at a cheap cost with sangria! Location is great, super close to a lot of sightseeing spots. There's an elevator which is quite rare in Portugal I guess
Loved the city and it's history. Took yellow tour but should have done red or gray line. People were very friendly, great good food and Portugal wine was great! Our hosts greeted us on arrival and were available and very friendly. Abrigado, Franciso
This place is fantastic. Location is perfect. The staff were all super helpful and friendly. The room was wonderful. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Portugal. I cannot recommend this place enough. Book it now!!!
The facilities were the highest quality in my 3 week journey of Portugal and for the price exceptional. The host was always seeing how l was enjoying Porto which is a nice 👍 thing to do.Very clean very well presented atmosphere.
The staff was very friendly. They were able to create a social experience at the hostel which was the best of any from a dozen hostels I stayed at. Portugal is known for friendly people, and this hostel exceeded expectations.
