Very nice city, we liked the vibe much more than in Cusco. Picanterias are exceptional, volcanoes’ views are fascinating. Mummy museum is great experience. Unfortunately , we didn’t have time to visit Colca canyon so need to come back

Arequipa is a very nice city different from the other cities...
Arequipa is a very nice city different from the other cities in Peru, a very clean and welcoming town. I think it has a lot to offer from the mountains to the coast! Colca canyon is a must! Amazing place to relax and enjoy the mountains and the peaceful towns. Downtown is also really nice with good restaurants, cafes, museums and nice churches that are open to visit in the day. There are also nice typical restaurants around the city where they serve local and delicious dishes. Arequipa is totally recommended for 2 to 4 days.

Nice city with an attractive historical centre with Santa...
Nice city with an attractive historical centre with Santa Catalina Monastery the absolute top attraction, an amazing place with an amazing history. Do not miss a trip to Colca Canyon to see the condors, that is amazing and this is one of the few places in the world where you can see condors. Another must see site is The founder of Arequipa (Garci Manuel de Carbajal) mansion, about 20 km outside the city. In two to three days you will be able to cover the above mentioned attractions.

A beautiful city!
A beautiful city! Lots of culinary options to choose from, especially in the city center around Plaza des Armas! If you need to try anything in particular, go for Kam Thai Cuisine and Mumis for their tasting course, as well as for Pachamanca at Don Beto a bit outside of the city center.
Anything you need can be reached by foot, also, the taxis are reliable.
The guides of all the tours were well trained and gave you all the information needed!
I can only recommend going to Arequipa if you have the chance, for my part, I'll certainly come back one day :)
climbing Nevado Chachani, Laguna Salinas, climbing Ubinas vulcano
La Lecoreta Monastery with Museum and Library, Mercado san Camilo, Viewpoint Square in the Yanahuara District, Santa Catalina Monastery Complex, Santuarios Andinos University Museum with the Juanita Mummy
I was made welcome by Matteo, the manager, from the moment I arrived. I actually arrived early, but was offered breakfast and a room to rest in until my room was ready.
Once available, my room was spotlessly clean, very modern and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and modern, with a powerful, hot shower.
Breakfast was excellent, with a good selection to choose from and the freshest, tastiest bread I've eaten in Peru!
I'd highly recommend this hotel, which is a 5 minute walk from the main square.
It was an amazing and awesome stay at Holy Hostel for 6 nights (instead of 1 night at the beginning !).
Aron has a great sense of hospitality and does everything to make his guests feel good.
The rooftop on the bar is beautiful and bartenders are excellent. it was a pleasure to take my breakfast here the morning.
The location of the hostel is ideal, it is close to the city-centre, museums, also nearby some very nice restaurants and cafés.
I highly recommend Holy Hostel for your future stay in Arequipa !
I have to thank them a lot because I arrived at the hostel at 4.50 am (I took an overnight bus from puno to arequipa) and they let me stay and even have a sleep before the start of a new day
Nice staff, always willing to help, with good suggestions of what to do in the city
Good breakfast, with egg, yoghurt (I think it was the only place in Peru where I could find dairy or protein for breakfast), bread, butter, jelly.
This is a wonderful hotel! The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is ultra clean and they provide the very best rooftop breakfast!!! I appreciated the location, it's not in the center of everything but it's close to everything. I also had the very best shower in all of Peru here, hot with excellent water pressure. I would definitely recommend this place
Stayed in the Dorms! 5 min walk to old town, amazing breakfast (best Hostel breakfast I’ve ever had bc it’s basically a hotel breakfast), super clean, nice comfy beds with privacy curtains and lights, super helpful and nice staff, simple but good kitchen, free tea and coffee all day, free luggage storage too! Highly recommend this place!
We also took advantage of the Spanish language classes offered as well as the Peruvian Cooking experience. Giovanna was an excellent teacher and gave us lots of practical tips for communicating on in various settings. Armando and his staff were so friendly and accommodating. We felt so welcome throughout our 5 night stay!
Actually, pretty good place to stay if you spend a couple of days in Arequipa.
Few things that I liked:
-Breakfast was good;
- Room was really clean and amenities were quite new and well maintained;
- Bed was very comfortable;
- Room accessible from the outside (I liked that sometimes);
- Nice rooftop.
Buffet breakfast was amazing (and changed daily). Central location. Hot showers. Fridge. Angela on reception was so kind. My partner hurt her knee after Colca Canyon and she offered us an ice-pack. She also gave us extra pillows. Can pay on card without the 5% fee that most establishments in Peru charge.
The hotel is beautiful and has good location. Everything was clean and comfortable. The room and bathroom were impecable. The breakfast was delicious. The staff is kind and very helpful. definitely we will return to this hotel. We strongly recommend Wyndham Costa del Sol Arequipa.
Amazing house with a history. Ask the owners about it! Very well traveled and they can tell you a lot about Peru and Arequipa. They have even been to Haarlem, small world. The hostel is next to a big road, so if this bothers you in the evening, ask for a room on the garden side.
The location was perfect at Plaza de Armas with a beautiful view from its rooftop restaurant. The breakfast buffet was excellent and included breakfast & lunch options. The staff were always friendly & attentive. I would return to Katari for future visits to Arequipa.
Convenient room, nice shower, great location, and the best breakfast in Peru!
Greate service! The kept by baggage while I went to Colca canyon, and when I was back both my baggage and my laundry was waiting for me in the room that I re-booked.
The beds were the most comfortable we have been in Peru! It feels very homey and the breakfast was great. There was hot water in the showers after a few minutes. The location was fantastic. Great value for money, I recommend staying here!
This hotel is located directly on Arequipa's main square. We motorcycled in at a super busy time and the staff were very helpful, assisted unloading and with parking our bike. The food was excellent, especially breakfast.
The restaurant was great in the hotel. Natalie and Maribell were extremely attentive to our requests. The chicken sandwich with fries was the best we've eaten in Peru and we've lived here for 11 months.
The rooftop is awesome to watch the sunset and beautiful view of Arequipa.
The place is cute and close to Plaza de Armas.
They can keep your luggage while you are doing the Colca tour.
excellent price. Personal is extremely friendly and helpful. We could store our for two days when we went to Colca canyon. The rooms are very spacious. Best stay we had in Peru so far.
Everything was perfect: staff, facilities, laundry, hot shower, comfy bed and organised excursions to Colca Canyon.
I really recommend staying in this hotel if you are in Arequipa.
Lovely and warm welcome
Everything is brand new, the bed was like home, delicious breakfast and the cherry on the cake was the rooftop.
One of my best stay in Peru
Thank you guys
Flexibility with check-in/checkout
Location; quiet neighbourhood, but still only a 10-15 min walk to the city centre
Hot water available in shower (not a given in Peru)
