Paracas was not the best stop on my Peru trip. First of all, lots of visitors got heavy stomach problems once in Paracas (it is probably the water). The best part is to visit the natural Reserva. The Islas Ballestas islands is not the best...I mean the boats are going there constantly full of tourists...I do not think it is the best for the animals that live there..We were told that due to climate change they are also not reproducing anymore so soon no Humboldt penguins or pelicanos will be there. The bets would be close this area from tourists...

Paracas has some really beautiful sights.
Paracas has some really beautiful sights. Ballestas islands are a must see and the national park is beautiful!
Paracas Beach is crowded and not very clean. And the minimarts are very expensive compared to other places in Peru- stock up on snacks and water before you you arrive!

We planned two full days, which was great for a relaxing vacation, but we could have done Paracas with one full day. Next time, I would plan to visit the Islas Ballestas at 8am the first morning, have lunch in town afterwards, then visit the National Reserve in the afternoon. Visiting the reserve in the morning was probably better, since the wind is a problem in the afternoon, but it could still be done in one day. Either way, if you're in Paracas you must see both the islands and the reserve. Plan for a ceviche lunch at Playa Lagunillas.

The visit to the Ballestas Islands is really worth it, and the quality of the tour is fair, but I regretted to not have been able to spend more time there; we went back about 30 minutes earlier than planned, and we stayed like barely 5 minutes to observe the sea lions from close.
The other main tour is the Paracas natural reserve, which in itself is beautiful, but the tour was not so great, as we made several stops which were not so necessary to me and when we finally made it to the main spot which was playa Lagunilla, we didn't have time to take a swim.

Cute little town to visit for a day and do the bird island excursion. Although the boats are packed and your knees will hurt from sitting in tight quarters. Everyone stood up once we got there and we had a hard time seeing anything. Beach is dirty, busy and not worth it. But it's Peru and it's interesting none the less.

The provincial park was fantastic as we rented bikes and cycled through the whole park. I could write pages about that experience as you get to be you your own tour guide and explore. Playa de la Mina was so nice as we stopped for a swim and to take a breather. We also did the tour on a boat to Isla Ballestas and that made for a nice two hour trip. All in all unless your going to spend alot of time on the beach then 2 days would suffice for your trip to Paracas. Very easy to get around including from the bus station to town. You don't need taxi's or other forms of transportation, just walk.
Location is about 12 mins walk from town or 5 mins drive. With that, you are truly unplugged from the hustle and bustle of city center Paracas. We really enjoyed the tranquility and amenities of the property. It had a pool that overlooks the water and was exactly what we needed after a long day of traveling and excursions. Being able to check out at 12 pm was nice as well. The rooms were nice, staff were friendly, dinner was great and breakfast better than what we had in Lima, and again, the hotel offerings were spectacular
Casa Paracas is located in the street behind the seaside promenade in the town center. Our room was comfortable and spacious, with a nice and clean bathroom.
The hotel has a few ATV's which we were allowed to use, only paying for the fuel. We unfortunately didn't get the chance to do this due to our short stay, but this was a nice option that we did not expect!
The staff was very helpful, even letting us store our luggage for several hours after checking out.
The host was extremely helpful, he organized a boat trip, a trip to Paracas National Reserve and a bus to Ica.
Accommodation is being renovated, all very new and clean.
Hot water at all times, good breakfast.
Very close to the bus station (Cruz del Sur), a lot of shops and restaurants around, the beach and the boat boarding about 5 minutes on foot.
Highly recommended.
The staff at San Agustín Paracas are always very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are clean and the beauty is that each room, no matter what floor or position, you have a view of the pool and the bay. The hotel is close to the bus station and local amenities. The food is excellent and around the same price if not less than local restaurants.
This place is outstanding. I have stayed here twice and it feels like home and the owners like family. It is very nice and comfortable, in the best area in Paracas. The views from the boardwalk just meters away are incredible. It is at walking distance from the best hotel and el Chaco area with many amenities. I highly recommend it!
The hotel was very comfortable with spacious rooms. There was a big kitchen and living room. The location is in a quiet area of Paracas, still in walking distance to the port. The hosts were very pleasant. We were able to park our car for free and leave it while we went for tours of the area.
Hotel has everything you need in this place. Hotel restaurant is wonderful with great ceviche and pina colada. Personal was supernice. And the window view? Just breathtaking. If you are staying in this hotel, you do not need to go anywhere else (in Paracas) for the better.
The location of the proprty is the biggest win. It is right next to the small plaza where most tourist busses stop (in case you’re travelling by bus). It is also located right behind the boulevard and the beach, but then again, Paracas is so small, everything is closeby
Service was great, paid food was good for the amount we paid.
Breakfast was OK.
We went for my b-day and they gifted me a personal cake without telling them anything. It was a great detailed.
The two pools were great! It was the best thing in all the stay.
We booked it after a couple who didn’t expect much but it was a revelation. TRUE. Best value for money in our Peru tour! The lady on the front desk amazing, everything near, clean, peaceful and comodo!
This is the best hostel we have stayed in, in Peru. The staff were friendly, the breakfast tasty and the room was fantastic. We also had our washing done here too. Would definitely stay here again.
The staff members are incredible. They are always ready to go above and beyond. Shout to to Miguel, Wilder, and Fiorella for making mine and my mothers stay the best
I had a very nice stay in this hotel in single room with private bathroom. Nice friendly staff. You can arrange a tours or rent a scooter or bicycle for good price.
Good value basic family run hotel in Paracas. Good location close to the beach. Very simple but good value for the area and accomodation. Very strong wi-fi!
