This was not a part of our plans, just to get a nights rest before flying home. We went directly from the airport to Cusco, and this was the only way we could get to our return flight. As it was, I made a mistake on the timing of the flight (1am not 1pm) and so we had an extra whole day in the city. We really enjoyed it. The first day we did the tourist bus from Miraflores, and that was ok (tough to understand the English part of the dual language tour). We then checked out the coastal area briefly before going back. Day 2 was an adventure because I had messed up the flight timing. We made the best out of it by renting a car and going back to some of the areas we saw the previous day. We found a great vegan restaurant and got to check out the beaches, which are VERY different than anywhere I've been in the world, and I have traveled for 20 years on business. The people are pretty nice but almost exclusively speak Spanish. Google translate is your friend. A lot of drama getting to the airport at night, the traffic at 9pm was so crazy. But we certianly saw enough that we really don't need to go back. Two days is good for this place. And in our two days, it was really 18 hours total.

Lima is an amazing city.
Lima is an amazing city. If you are a city person you will enjoy. We stayed in Miraflores and walked a lot. Many great restaurants to explore. Loads of parks. People watching. We never felt unsafe. Historical Lima is great to stroll and take in the history. Ceviche ceviche and more ceviche. China town and the market. Request your pisco sour dry if you don't like sweet cocktails. I would go back in a heart beat!

This is not in Lima but in Playa Zorritos.
This is not in Lima but in Playa Zorritos. The condo unit was generally ok but it was missing things like a toaster, knives that can cut, a choice of pillows, sheets that fit and were not threadbare. Overall things needed to be painted.

Lima is one of the best cities in the world if you are into culinary delights. It is also a great place to visit if you enjoy a rich history from ancient to modern times, with great architecture and archeological remains.
The people in Lima are super friendly and if you stay in a tourist area you will find that many people speak and/or understand English.
Some of my favorite spots include the Historic Center of Lima; most of the museums; the most recommended restaurants, the beaches, and some of the Shopping Malls.

In Lima, there is so much to do and visit.
In Lima, there is so much to do and visit. I recommend doing a tour with a local tour guide. Uber is the best way to travel and is reasonably priced. I love Peruvian cuisine, and the restaurant scene is a must if you are going to visit.

We stayed only one night in Lima and we felt it is just...
We stayed only one night in Lima and we felt it is just enough time to visit.
The city is huge with a lot of poor housing and doesn't feel very safe.
The recommended tourist spots took as just half a day to visit - so we had time to roam around the local artisanal market to buy souvenirs, and to sit in one park and just relax.
The main square was almost closed for pedestrians due to some demonstration happening later during the day, so there was a lot of police there. Probably, that's why it felt rather safe around.
The Palace and the Cathedral were closed for this reason, but I assume it would not take us too long to visit them and should be manageable in one day.
The Santo Domingo market we accidentally found is really a great spot to buy souvenirs - as the prices are at least twice cheaper than on the street shops. They do not accept cards, but agreed to take US dollars at a great exchange rate when we ran out of Soles.
The Kennedy park is just a joke - a tiny playground overcrowded with local kids. What is even more disappointing about Lima is that this playground looks to be the only one in the whole 10-million city, which was really shocking to my kids: for example in the Malecon de Miraflores the so-called kids playground is just an area where you can play with a ball that you brought from home, and nothing else - not even a single swing or slide.
The restaurants in Lima look to be way too overpriced, especially knowing the average cost of living in Peru in general. The one we visited was fine, but the one I found in Machu Picchu was even better.
In a nutshell, if you need to save time for other places in Peru, like Cusco - you can easily avoid staying in Lima at all: you won't loose too much. If you have time, Lima is a nice city to visit, but I can't imaging myself staying longer than 1 night and don't have high expectations.
I would give a 10/10 to the staff members of the hotel. They were courteous and attentive at all times. Special thanks to Diana Latorre and Max from the restaurant and Whittenbury from the bar for making my stay such a pleasant one. They really went a step beyond each time I had an interaction with them. The location is great, right in the heart of Miraflores and the breakfast is extremely good. Will surely consider them when I am back in Lima.
Property owner friendly and very helpful. We stayed there on arrival at Peru. Gave us WhatsApp contact to ask for help if needed after we left them to begin our Peru travel.
Very cheap accommodation for Airbnb near airport. Great if you're taking an early flight out or a late flight in. Much cheaper than the Wyndham hotel inside the airport albeit you need to take Uber or Airbnb owner gives free shuttle to airport if he's available.
I chose this hotel mostly because of its name and location. I always do my best to book hotels at Marriott locations all over the world when I travel. In this particular case, I wanted to be located in the Miraflores district of Lima, close to major tourist restaurants and attractions. The staff was particularly helpful - they assisted me with several issues that come up during travel with dedication and efficiency.
The Hotel accomodations and breakfast is great and the staff is very efficient. But it is an expensive hotel for its purpose of being a 'sleepover' for travelers waiting for a connection at the airport. If the Lima traffic wasn't so chaotic, it would be cheaper to get a cab all the way to Miraflores/San Isidro and come back the day after. But staying there still a good (probably the best) option.
Position wise was fine, in the center of Miraflores the hotel offer a good location, I have to be fair even if we decided to go out of the property because in our opinion this is not what you can see from the pictures as the structure it’s really old and actually not a 5 stars hotel, at least they have been fair and they didn’t let us pay the cancellation fee… we appreciated this!
Very friendly and attentative owner who made our stay very comfortable. Very good breakfast prepared by the owner himself. A very good location in a quiet neighborhood and close to the historical city center: Plaza San Martin and Plaza Mayor de Lima. A convenient taxi drive to Miraflores (try to avoid rush hours) and the beautiful El Malecón in Miraflores for S/. 20 one way.
The hotel is situated in a lovely area of Miraflores, Lima. It's a short walk away from the Faro La Marina, Lover's Park and Parque Kennedy. Indeed, the location of the hotel is absolutely one of its greatest strengths. The rooms were very big and both beds were comfortable. Breakfast was also quite nice - with a mix of local foods, pastries and egg station.
A really nice hotel, which is situated to a lot of the tourist sites in Lima. The breakfast buffet was superb and we also had dinner there which was nice. Rooms were huge and beds were comfortable as well (twin room had two double beds). This hotel is more well suited if you intend on exploring sites not in Miraflores such as the cathedrals or the plaza.
Good location in Miraflores.
The hotel looks old but is well preserved and clean. Very confy queen room and liked the pool.
The staff in general quite nice.
I could also leave my luggage for few hours and they give a receipt.
It's very convenient that the Airport Express bus stops just in front of the door (from and to the airport).
Lovely apartment located in pueblo libre, local to restaurants, bars and a large shopping store. The apartment was clean and had good facilities, including fridge/freezer, microwave, cooker, hand laundry and a good shower.
Regular local buses to miraflores, barranco, Central lima and airport.
this hotel has a lot of character. it has several beautifully appointed shared seating areas through out the property. a nice restaurant with outdoor seating and music on Saturdays. the hotel is in Miraflores, an upscale area in Lima. many restaurants and cafes within walking distance.
One of the best hotels in all my 121 countries visited among the others..A BIG thanks 🙏 to ALL reception employees, helpin me to contact SKY airline for a canceled flight. Great breakfast and personnel..this means also a good management.
Wonderful location in Miraflores
The location is perfect for walking through Miraflores and also to visit the Barrancos and San Isidro neighborhoods. Breakfast is honest, the staff was friendly. The best part of this hotel room was the bathroom, which was spacious and very clean.
Location was very good. In Miraflores, which is a safe and relaxing area of Lima. It's near the waterfront and Larcomar mall, which is by the water. Service was professional and friendly. Rooms were nice and clean.
This is best hotel if you are transiting to any other location from Lima. The hotel was clean, breakfast was very good, staff was excellent and super helpful and the hotels proximity to the airport was the best part.
Great value for money and a very comfortable hotel in the heart of Miraflores.
Was perfect for a few days traveling alone for business.
Close to many restaurants and bars.
Amazing breakfast!
Excellent, very personal and welcoming service. You feel at home immediately. A small hotel competing with the many big ones in Miraflores and beating them!
