The view to the ocean and sunset from my room was amazing. The staff Angelita, Anna Marie, and Alex were amazing people and made sure everything was taken care of. They went above and beyond!

Felt like a true home away from home during my travels there. Great clean facilities and spacious rooms, lots of space for socialising and relaxing, and truly wonderful staff and volunteers.
The nicest hostel I've stayed in during my time in Peru.

We had the most AMAZING time at Totora Surf School and it was very hard to leave after three weeks! The rooms and property were always clean and organised and the view of the ocean is spectacular. Great value for money. But what made our stay so wonderful were the people! Laura and Diego are wonderful people and the care they put into their business is obvious. They went out of their way to make my stay comfortable and were especially kind and attentive to my dog Colt who would be very happy if we stayed forever! :) Their surf school team are all great people and Colt and I were happy to leave having made a bunch of new friends!

Small family run. Very kind and generous people. Cute doggos all around.
It's definitely not a small surf town like I thought, it's...
It's definitely not a small surf town like I thought, it's much bigger than expected with a bit of a nightlife. Many three-story bars and restaurants, many cute markets, but the real shopping is located in Trujillo (a half hour bus ride away). Despite the busy streets and many pedestrians, huanchaco maintains a very chill vibe. The beaches aren't great for relaxing or swimming but perfect for surfing. It's a really beautiful vacation destination, safe for the family and for solo travellers as well of all ages. I'd definitely recommend a visit !
Dario and Gigi make you feel like family the minute you walk in the door - even at 5 am after a night bus. They were both extremely accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. They have a fully equipped kitchen that is perfect for making your own meals and a great store across the road with fruit and veg! Hot showers and comfy beds. If I’m Huanchaco this is definitely the place to stay. When we come back to this area we will definitely return, thank you!
Gigi and Dario are some of the nicest people I’ve met in my many years of traveling in Peru. The vibe of this hostel is fantastic, and I had amazing conversations with everyone I met while staying here. Hot water, comfy bed, and lots of animals to love on made this the perfect place for me to stay. Gigi even gave me a front door key after I checked out to make sure I could come back and hang out in the public areas, which I really appreciated!
This is a hostel that understands the basic needs of travelers. A clean room, a hot shower, a side light in the room, curtains, a table and free coffee in the morning. There's really inexpensive yoga classes, a lot of space to hang out and a cute turtle in the yard. People were respectful for noise in the evening. There's even a space to leave your surf board and wetsuit! There's no better place in Huanchaco
This is a really nice small hostel. The kitchen is well equipped the bathrooms are clean and the rooms as well and the wifi is working well as well. Since they also run a surf school and many things are run by volunteers (greetings to Margaux, you did great job) you will most probably meet many enthusiastic surfers, which is great!
Really recommended stay in Huanchaco.
I stayed in Huanchaco surf camp for 14 days, and the only negative thing was the leaving;). Carla and Francisco are amazing people with great heart, always helpful and friendly. You can also get great tips for surfing or take surf classes here. The location is very peaceful with direct view of the ocean from the terrace, not far from centre, what else do you need!:)
Owner was helpful in answering questions. Location was close to airport and affordable price. We had an early morning flight so this place was convenient. Clean room and bathroom. Friendly woman greeted us. It would be helpful that future guests knows Spanish to converse with her. The area was safe and away from the noisy part of Huanchaco.
The hosts are very nice and welcoming. They recommended us surfing which was a great choice. And they helped us with a lot of other things (like a great lunch restaurant). the rooms are fine, the kitchen is nicely equipped and the shower is great. Huanchaco is also a really nice city to stay. We would definitely recommend!
Really friendly and exceptionally helpful landlord. Even when we were passing through Huanchaco after our initial stay we let us leave our bags at no extra cost. Great location near the beach and had a lovely rooftop to relax in the evening ! Would really commend if you are planning to come to Huanchaco.
Great location . Clean rooms with a Beautiful Ocean View , Very relaxing. We had a beautiful suite with a nice jacuzzi We enjoyed every single sunset during our stay. Good breakfast . Nice pool. The manager of the hotel “Ernesto” was excellent and took very good care of us . I will definitely recommend !!

The nicest hostel I've stayed in during my time in Peru.
Gave me early check in (9:30 AM) without charging me. Breakfast was upstairs in the restaurant. The view from up there is great. Don’t recommend staying at the hotel but do recommend having dinner up there and watching the sunset.
The best in Huanchaco.
The owners are so helpful and kind.
I felt so safe here as a solo female traveller lovely quiet end of town just perfect. Lovely chill out areas for reading and lush to have the pool
The hotel looked clean and we were very anxious to stay there after a long trip from Cajamarca. But the reservation was cancelled with out notice and the girl at the reception desk was not kind.
The hotel staff is very friendly and hospitable. Breakfast every morning was delicious. The management was great. Ernesto was very accommodating with my stay here.
