Marcella went above and beyond with everything even before we arrived- great communication and when we met her we were so impressed with her warmth and concern for our comfort. She helped arrange transportation from Cusco airport and from the hotel back to Cusco making things very easy for us. The hotel was lovely and the rooms on the top floor with the balcony had spectacular views.

We stayed 2 nights in Ollantaytambo and in the mean time we went from here to Machu Picchu. I would defitnetly recommend to stay in Ollantaytambo easily 2 nights and specifically in this location. This is the town where you take the train to aguas calientes, this hotel is literally 5 minutes walking from the train station which is why we chose this. The staff is super friendly, they have a beautiful garden and a really nice breakfast. It was the first breakfast where we received watermelon and papaya for breakfast which was great (amongst other things). This was definetly our favorite breakfast of the whole trip. Oh yeah and the first time real fresh bread. Bonus point is they are right next to Chullpi which was our favorite hotspot for coffee, local beers and lunch!

The hotel Del Pilar Ollantaytambo is outstanding! it is situated about 20 minutes by car from Ollantaytambo in the beautiful valle de Vilcanota. Our room had a stunning view to the picturesque mountain. Everything in this hotel is precisely executed and decorated with lot of taste. The food is tasty and classy, the staff is kind and all the services are superb.
We failed to buy tickets for Machu Picchu online. Irvin (the manager of the hotel) and Karen (the front desk manager) noticed our struggle and did everything possible to help us. With their help we were ale to get successfully last minute tickets for Machu Picchu.
We will keep memories from the hotel as one of the best hotels we ever stayed in.

Well located next to the stream. The owner is incredibly nice and did all he could to make my stay perfect. I had a motorbike and he helped me put it in the garden to make sure nothing happens to it at night.

We made Ollantaytambo our home base for our Sacred Valley...
We made Ollantaytambo our home base for our Sacred Valley visit and were glad we did. It was small enough to walk everywhere, the train station, the square, the archaeological park, the original pre-colonial section of town. We visited in the low season in the last half of February and enjoyed the smaller number of visitors.

We messed up our communication and did not get tickets to Machu Picchu. Do your research and purchase tickets BEFORE you arrive…months in advance for high season. Nevertheless we toured the archeological wonders of the Sacred Valley— Temples of the sun and moon and more. It was very spiritually powerful and architecturally awe inspiring, did not feel like a consolation prize for missing MP…. Just a reason to come back. Do not miss this tour if you are hire… and hire the guide. It’s worth it. Food was great here too.

We loved this town. In total we stayed 3 nights.
We loved this town. In total we stayed 3 nights. And would've preferred to stay another night instead of returning to Cusco. The restaurants are plenty and good, the people are so nice, and the coffee shops are nice. Hiking all around, and the ruins and market are enjoyable.
Both walking everywhere is good and getting a taxi is also easy.

We decided to go there straight from Cusco to be better...
We decided to go there straight from Cusco to be better acclimatized before heading to Machu Picchu. We visited sites like the salt mines along the way to Ollantaytambo and stayed in Cusco at the end of our trip. Our accommodation host Alex did all of the arranging and was super helpful. Ollantaytambo was a great start to our trip. A very safe town full of culture that is easy to get around. The Inca sun temple was definitely worth visiting and we highly recommend getting one of the guides who will explain all of the significances of the site. Highly recommend visiting Ollantaytambo and where we stayed. It was a great start to our vacation!
Picaflor Tambo is in a quiet neighborhood, and a short hike to amazing ruins starts near their entrance. Diego met us at the central plaza on our arrival. Picaflor Tambo combines ancient Inca ruins with modern style and conveniences. Diego arranged tours and advised us of events, restaurants, etc. Delicious breakfast buffet was included and Diego brought a thermos of hot water and selection of teas to room nightly. We added nights to our stay because Picaflor Tambo is such a wonderful guest house, and we enjoyed Ollantaytambo so much.
The location was perfect and the view from our window was amazing! You should absolutely stay here if visiting the sacred valley. Ollantaytambo is the perfect base and the town is much more relaxed. The staff at Sauce were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great every morning. Sauce actually had the best water temperature and pressure out of all of our accommodations in Peru! They also provide solid bars of shampoo and conditioner which are higher quality than what you would normally get in a hotel, and reduces plastic trash.
The Hotel is located in the perfect spot for everything. It is near to railway station, restaurants and market. It is just 1 min if you take moto taxi to reach the train station. The staff helped us literally in everything. He packed box breakfast early in the morning around 4 am as we had our train to MachuPicchu at 5 am. The hotel was too good in terms of cleanliness. Especially hot shower available all the time and climate control ( heater)was also available. Highly recommend. Balcony view is wonderful.
Staff spoke English and were very helpful, especially Helen, because I needed help for many things like printing of tickets. The free upgrade was appreciated and the room was amazing. I love the decor of the place. The restaurant was quite good. The total cost, to me, was very reasonable. The distance to city square AND nearby ruins was only about 10 minutes. And the hotel was literally in front of the Macchu Picchu train. I only had to wake up 20 mins before the train's departure time.
This hotel offers a simple, affordable, comfortable place to stay. It's not fancy, but the bed was comfortable and the service from Maria was excellent. She offered a simple breakfast to get going in the morning, helped with laundry, and she has a cooler full of water so you never run out. If you start a few nights, you'll fast become friends. This is also an easy walk from the train station and only a few steps from the Ollantaytambo ruins on one side, and the plaza on the other.
If you plan on staying in Sacred Valley, this is definitely the place! The rooms and common areas are really modern but at the same time super comfy. The view from the garden on the surrounding mountains invites to relax there. For dinner we had pizza out of the hotel own pizza oven and it was sooo delicious we even had to order one more. As we needed to organize some stuff, we were more than thankful for the fast WiFi connection. Would absolutely recommend to stay here!
The hotel was in the quiet San Isdro part of Ollantaytambo, 5-10 mins walk from the main area. Josie who ran the b&b was very friendly and her English was great. Our twin room was a little rustic but clean, with comfy beds and had the best hot shower we'd had so far in Peru. Breakfast was simple but tasty and you could spend a few sol more for an omelette. The lounge area also had hot water for tea available throughout the day.
This is the best hotel in the Sacred Valley, such a magical place! Noemi and her family are the most welcoming, helpful and kind hosts! The hotel is small and has a family vibe. Every time I was coming back, I had a feeling I was coming home. The breakfast is fresh and delicious. The rooms are huge and super comfortable. The views from the hotel are incredible! I regretted booking only for 3 nights. I can't wait to visit again!
This hotel is excellent value-for-money. It is right beside the Inca fortress ruins and street market. Breakfast was very good. Only about a 7min walk to the train station. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and informed us just have to walk train square to catch a cab to Cusco (60 sol, or 15 each for 4 people) at the end of our stay. We were happy we stayed at Eureka Lodge.
perfect perfect perfect
ollantaytambo is a quant authentic village filled with Incan culture. to top our visit the hotel met just that same description, the room was conformable and clean and staff extremely helpful with ideas on what to explore and the hidden treasures surrounding the village.
breakfast was lovely with plenty of food and drinks
beautiful little hotel
We stayed in the suite with the king bed. The suite was on top level and had sweeping views of the mountains near Ollantaytambo. The unit itself was very spacious and the bed very comfortable!
Also the breakfast was much better than others we’ve had in Peru. It included an amazing bowl of fruit (mangos, papayas, bananas and watermelon).
This was a great place to stay in Ollantaytambo! Gorgeous rooms, and the kids loved getting to sleep up in their own little loft. Breakfast was excellent, and the location was within easy walking distance of everything in the town including the train station to Machu Picchu. Overall great experience!
Excellent choice for Ollantaytambo, great location, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff that arranged taxis etc for us. Room might feel a bit chilly, but certainly not under the blankets. Only problem was the roosters waking you up at 5-6 am, but not the hotels fault!
Right on the Ollantaytambo train station platform yet serene surrounded by the El Albergue farm, we loved our time at this hotel with amazing warm staff who welcomed us with delicious local food, assistance to plan our tours, immediate attention to everything we needed.
the location is good, about 15 minutes aalking from the train station. The staff was really nice, the lovely lady that runs the place gave us very good tips from Ollantaytambo. The breakfast was good. And the whole place is really beautiful.
The breakfast was delicious and filling. The hosts were very kind. The hotel is located close to the plaza in Ollantaytambo, but far enough so it was quiet. Lovely, clean bathroom with a strong, hot shower.
The location of this hotel was perfect, the train station is a 5 min walk down the street, the ruins & market were close as well. We missed out on the breakfast due to early departures.
A lovely newer boutique hotel. Amazing manager, good breakfast, large common area for guests. Close to Peru Rail to Machu Picchu. Walkable to train, food and main square.
The property is located on top of a mountain near Ollantaytambo. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, connecting you with nature on a whole new level
