Beach and Fun in Penang
Batu Ferringhi is a combination of a beach resort packed with modern hotels and a tropical Asian paradise. Located in the Penang area of northern Malaysia, it is one of the biggest resorts of its kind in the country. Restaurants, shopping centres and numerous modern services and facilities are also available, along with its well-known ‘Pasar Malam’ or Night Market.
The strip along Jalan Batu Ferringhi Street is the main service area, and you’ll find a large variety of hotels on the beach, apartments and guest houses. The area can be divided in three different zones: Tanjung Bungah to the east, Batu Ferringhi itself, and the quieter Teluk Bahang to the west. Check the hotels map to see which area is the most convenient for you.
Things to do in the surroundings include the ‘Butterfly Farm’, home to a collection of thousands of beautiful specimens; and the ‘Spice Garden’, which features a lush landscape with a large variety of herbs and spices. The town is located only 16 km from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town’s historic centre.
It can be reached by bus, or via a 45-minute flight from Kuala Lumpur to Penang Airport. Before enjoying the sun and fun of Batu Ferringhi, don’t miss the accommodation deals available on Booking.com!

This is a rather conservative (no alcohol served or allowed, except in rooms) family-oriented facility that is somewhat isolated with limited food and entertainment facilities. The better rooms have wonderful sea views that are perhaps the highlight of the place, along with the colorful “Balinese” color schemes inside the rooms and outside of the buildings. This is not a “beach” resort, since there is only a beach at Low tide and that is very narrow and rocky. I booked the room after a hectic three-week trip to Thailand and Malaysia, in order to chill out before heading home. However, the daytime and evening noise levels at the facility and my room’s thin walls made chilling out very difficult. I would advise anyone contemplating staying here to request a room away from the pools and the restaurant. It happened unbeknownst to me that I booked for the final days of the Chinese New Year, and that may have generated the noise levels since the place was packed with families with children (I was traveling solo, and as far as I could tell, I was the only solo traveler at the facility).

The location , beach and ambience were great.
The location , beach and ambience were great. We stayed at the Park Royal Hotel. It was lovely, staff were helpful and always smiling.
We really enjoyed our stay. We ate at Grand Lebanon Restaurant, the food was delicious and service was great at the restaurant.
We also ate at the Enca restaurant (Indian Cuisine) and enjoyed the food which was excellent value for money and delicious.
We picked up some souveniers at the Batu Ferringhi night market also.

The gardens at the bay view were maintained beautifully and the cleaners never seemed to stop around the pool and restaurant area although it was requested that people did not enter wet. Well what can I say???

Batu Ferringhi is basically a strip of hotels/resorts along the main road with some restaurants, shops, massage places and night market along the road as well. Apart from visiting the beach, enjoying the pool area at your hotel, there is not much to do. Beaches are not the best, while we were there, there were signs to watch out for stingers, so we did not go in the water. The local grab drivers told us for nice beach holiday go to Langkawi instead.

I realy recommend this place
The staff was so friendly. Location is a bit near to the beach, petrol station and a food court. When you arrived, the staff will give you a map of the nearby area and also map for amazing tourist attractions in Penang.
The bed was clean. Toilet and hot water function properly. Got TV completed with Astra Njoi.
To go to the beach it is advisable to walk about 3-5 mins. It is located after Golden Sands resort.
If you don't want to go out you can also use Grab to buy food. KFC, Pizza hut and Secret Recipe is also nearby.
Nice location. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Very spacious rooms with balcony. Grounds to the hotel are lovely with lots of space to chill. The Swim up pool bar was not open during our stay, but the other bar was that served bottled beer. There is a lovely beach bar a few metres away from the resort where u can relax and enjoy a beautiful sunset. Balcony and bathrooms.was spacious .
This is the HARDEST review I have had to give because usually, I always give positive feedback. The property advertised itself as a “Luxury” 2 bedrooms family suite. it is a 2 bedroom apartment but it is not luxurious. The ONLY positive about this apartment is that it is right on the beach and within walking distance of eateries in Batu Ferringhi.
The location is great. A lot of activities nearby. The Batu Ferringhi night market is right outside the resort. The resort has direct connection to the beach. Plenty of activities like jet ski, parasailing, etc. The facilities are great. Nice gym, big pools. The room was nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful
The payment was smoothly made via Booking.com and I don't have to hassle and gave my private driver petty cash to pay for the accommodation. Being the location near luxury hotels that my boss go to, it is a perfect choice for a budget hotel to place my staff and private drivers.
The room is big, clean and comfortable. Good value for money. The location is very strategic, close to the beach, night market, restaurant and food court. The staff and owner was amazing and very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting batu ferringin, penang.
Rasa Wing upgrade well worth the extra. The staff throughout are really excellent, though Batu Ferringhi is badly needing upgrading - nothing really here and beach has virtually no facilities - the Rasa Sayang is worth going to and staying in resort, other than for eating out.
The room was spacious as we seen on the photos, and the staff upgraded us so the three of us got breakfast during our stay and it was excellent, the choices of the food was superb. The pool also very nice but we really like the bridge that connect the hotel to the beach side.
nice place to stay..and all staff very friendly 😊 especially Guna&1lady,we dont know her name but they very friendly and very helpful.nice place to stay for budget hotel cz near to the beach, shops, McDonald's etc..will repeat again next time
Beautiful resort hotel right on the beach with fantastic gardens and swimming pool area. Excellent gym. Staff were excellent - we went on a tour of the gardens which was so informative and interesting. Huge selection at breakfast.
Food stalls nearby and very convenient to find variety of foods. Delicious food in Penang.
Apartment is close to the beach. Windy and super scenery from the apartments. Very quiet location and good for relaxation.
We spent 6 days at Smell Rose Beach Garden and enjoyed it very much. The place is great to explore Penang island and to find great food. A lot of restaurants and food halls are close to the apartment.
Love the pool coz my kids was very enjoy staying here, love the beach coz many activities can join and like the environment and view of the hotel coz very nice to take a picture for OOTD 😛
Ok .price ok .near beach murah! Staff kindly.got cilling fan, acon ,hotwater, television can use. Wifi also fast. Ok la this price walk 5 minute got eat , McDonald, kfc ,7-11.room also big
