Love Mazamitla!! My friends and I live in Chapala, we come to Mazamitla to escape the Lake Chapala heat in April, May and June. We usually stay 2-3 weeks in Mazamitla. We left early this year because of the horrible experience we had at so called Herradura VIP” Hotel.

Nice little town with plenty of little restaurants (if you're not vegan/ vegetarian, then options are limited to "veggie pizza," which is what my girl enjoyed while I had tacos like a boss). TONS of stray dogs. One followed us around for a while and it was really sad. I gave him a hot dog that I bought from the pizza guy.
Taxis are infrequent. We saw about 20 pass as we waited for our pizza, then when finished, waited 40 minutes for another to arrive, ultimately calling our host to arrange for pickup. Everyone in the town gets around on motorbikes, ATVs, trucks, etc. There is no Uber, no Didi, only taxis.

The cabaña was beautiful and clean we were greeted by friendly staff whom were willing to help at all times. The time we stayed was short but will be back soon. We loved the fire place and the beds were very clean and comfortable, overall it was a beautiful experience for the whole family.

It is an excellent place to escape from routine.
It is an excellent place to escape from routine. It looks like a typical country house with a pool. It has a bar and ping pong table; the bedroom is big.
The hosts were excellent. There is a village nearby to order delivery and buy extra things.
The only bad thing is that the pool is too wavy for children under eight.
Carry mosquito repellent!

The cabin was just as shown in pictures, the trip to find the vip cabin was a little complicated but thanks to the main host that send me the exact location on maps I was able to find it. Not much signal there so I recommend to find the exact location before arrival. Make sure you have a physical communication with “Moni” if she’s your host because by text she never replies and make sure you tell her about the firewood a day before because I had to wait hours for her to bring and it’s freezing there and she never showed up. Very disappointed !

The town is cute and the hills, forest and mountains are pretty. The sense of a city-people's playground (evident in the loud music, lack of unpaved accessible hiking, and main activity of riding around in multi-passenger ATVs blaring loud music) made this not the right location for me, as I was looking for a less touristy, more nature-lovers type of place.
Casa Magna, off the main square, had pretty great food, drinks, service and ambiance.
it's amazing the owner called me the first day and I think that is a good gesture from his part, the place has everything you need to stay, so if you come from far away you don't need to worry about almost anything. The place is a little away from the town so you have a great view of the woods but close enough to have all the services like internet. It's really amazing.
This hotel was style over substance. The look of the cabin, the layout, the decorations were all contemporary, with a minimalist style. The fireplace was also really cool and one of the better features of staying here, as was the fact that it is dog friendly and we could stay with our dog. The patio was nice for sitting when nearby neighbors weren't playing loud music.
New buildings with modern exterior and interior. There is also a restaurant near by, but the food wasn't tasty. I'd suggest any other at the city square.
Parking lot was really close.
Surprisingly, it was quiet thanks to the hotel location right at the entrance to the city.
10 min to the tourist area and +5 to the downtown.
we enjoyed the place a lot! super comfy, clean and perfect cabin for couples ❤️ you can relax, watch tv, play some music and have a great time. also the hot tub 🛁 worked perfectly!
the surrounding areas are beautiful and is a 10 min drive to mazamitla center we’re you can enjoy the town vibe
The location just off main street of Mazamitla and the responsiveness of the staff. The fireplace was also a great add to the stay, especially to roast some sausages and marshmallows :3
Also there are kitchen stuff that allows you to cook in the cabin.
Sparkling clean bedroom, magnificent decoration, free coffee, heritage architecture. When you travel to Mexico this is basically what you want to experience, a nice hotel in the heart of downtown where you have everything at walking distance.
The hotel is beautiful and it is right in the woods but very close to the town even if you go walking. The cabins are spaced out pretty well and there is plenty of garden space. The kids play area was very nice as well
Mazamitla Pinos del Río is an exceptional place, away from the town on the side of the road but enclosed in the forest. I love this place. It breathes a lot of tranquility. It has the minimum necessary for your stay.
the inside was ok. the bathroom floor was wet and we noticed water runs out when you take a shower. so we deducted they didn't really clean or mopped that bathroom after the guests right before us.
Everything! The place is really new, really comfy, a lot of utensils in the kitchen, nice jacuzzi, really quiet, really good internet connection and in between two cities with easy access.
Absolutely beautiful location, loved waking up to the outdoors atmosphere, huge property with beautiful cabins and lots do on the property itself, it's it's on adventure.
