Mazunte is the perfect combo of comfort and nature.
Mazunte is the perfect combo of comfort and nature. It’s very small but lively with shops and restaurants and the atmosphere remains quite and friendly. For even more tranquility I recommend spending the days on the beach at San Angustinillo, and heading back in town for dinner. Temazcal ceremonies at Kakao Kali are a must try if you’re on a healing journey. I was also happy to take a boat ride to see the dolphins and sea turtles.

This is a hip vibe place to be.
This is a hip vibe place to be. The busy streets, the beach goers. The constant revelry. This place is a Pueblo Magico so it has a standard that was met. Pueblo Magico towns offer an experience that is reflective in the most part to that area of Mexico. This town did not disappoint, but go down the road to Zipolite, and you will understand that the conformity of Mazunte, is pleasing to the eye and walk able (somewhat). The area's that seem pedestrian for the visitors are often used as service roads for vehicle traffic, and if you are from North of America, pediatricians have the right away. Not the case here, the car, or motorbike is king, stay to the side, and don't get lost in the karma of the place, because someone will be down your back in no time. Be careful.

Loved Mazunte by the beach!
Loved Mazunte by the beach! The beach area hotels are much quieter than the ones by the main road.
Good food is plentiful and easy to find.
Everyone gathers at the beach to watch the sunset!
Word of warning; come with pesos because ATM machines often run out of cash or are not working. Learned this the hard way.

We love this quaint little beach town.
We love this quaint little beach town. You are living each day with and like the locals. Grab some fresh fruit, local coffee, and local pastry treat and hang out on Main Street with the locals and enjoy the atmosphere.
The beaches are beautiful and not crowded although the current is quite strong in some areas. 2 beaches just 5 minutes away or another maybe 10 minute walk. Greet the spectacular sunrise each morning on the beach with sun salutations, yoga, jogging, swimming or enjoy a short boat ride to see whales, dolphins, turtles and msntarays. Sport fishing is available too,

Small beach town with not much going on besides beach,...
Small beach town with not much going on besides beach, tourist clothing shops and dining options. The ocean is beautiful but a bit rough at the time we visited in early November. You can rent an umbrella to have shade. There appeared to be a little night life on a few small roads leading to the beach but we didn’t go there for that so I can’t speak from experience.

Mazunte is best seen from the beaches.
Mazunte is best seen from the beaches. The town was not really our thing. It is not attractive unless you like dusty bohemian chaos. Great people watching. The beaches are beautiful. We found few fine restaurants (admittedly we did not sample all of the restaurants). El Copal was a gem.
The staff are lovely! Super friendly and accommodating. No bugs can get into the rooms as they have sliding doors and mosquito screens. The hotel is still very new so the rooms feel super fresh. Comfy beds too! I rented an ATV so I could easily hop between Mazunte, San Agustinillo and Zipolite, but on days when the traffic into SA was bad (between Xmas and NYE) it takes 5 mins to walk down the hill into San Agustinillo to the beach or to my fav food place, Umami.
Loved the hammock area and the open air kitchen: so helpful to be able to prepare some food and not have to eat out all the time.
Bed comfy, and room as shown on pics
great staff: Yared , Raquel, Lore and all were friendly and hard working
Hotel feels nice and safe (gate permanently locked.. no wandering in like there is for many mazunte places which have cafes or restaurants as part of the accommodation)
Incredible view, comfortable, clean rooms, attentive, friendly staff, fun pool scene, amazing food, beachfront access, super quality architecture/design (Guanacaste galore) and perfect location - walking distance to all of Mazunte's hot spots yet perched well above the main street providing a peaceful refuge when needed.
The location is amazing right on a quiet part of the beach, with incredible view from the rooms and swimming pool.
The pool is wonderful, the food and cocktails are great.
This is a quiet hotel, people either go to bed early or go out in the other places accross the town.
It’s pretty relaxing!
It's the best place to be in Mazunte! And it is very close to San Agustinillio, which is a beautiful and relaxing beach.
Impressively clean, a beautiful garden, the hosts are calm and kind, the animals are lovely.. it makes you feel like home by stepping in!
The bed was great, amazing views, very peaceful, & convenient community kitchen. I’m a walker, so while it is close to the town, you go down to beaches&town & back up to the Hotel. Many people rent scooters or taxis but I wasn’t in a hurry to go anywhere😊
- quiet location, yet in walking distance to "downtown" Mazunte
- nice view and chill terrace
- the apartment has everything you need for a couple of days or even some weeks
- friendly staff and good communication with host
Very clean.
The host is great and helpful.
Very safe.
Kitchen is great compare to mexico.
Location is great. Not on the main street - need to walk little bit, very quiet. Close to marmajita beach.
Wifi works good.
The room has everything needed. There are greats views and it has a good location. The owner is super nice, ready to help and give tips on what to do in Mazunte. The room is clean and also gets cleaned every day.
Casa Mazunte Tierra Viva is clean, conveniently located close to the beach, and staffed with people who are friendly and helpful. Mazunte is an attractive, laid-back town, with tree-lined streets.
The location and the facility were beautiful! It was right on the beach and we could watch the sunset every evening. It provided a nice retreat from the busy tourist scene in Mazunte.
The location of the hotel is amazing, right at the beach and walking distance from all the shops and restaurants of the small beach town. Room was clean and spacious. Friendly staff.
The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful. Good breakfast (not the orange juice!). Loved the swimming pool. The view and location are excellent. The room is comfortable.
There were restaurants which served breakfast a short walk away. Casa Aldairis also provided a refrigerator and hot water if you wished to have tea or something at the hotel.
The hotel had a lovely pool and Albert the hotel owner was very friendly. The rooms and hotel were pretty and the kitchen access right next to the pool was great.
It's the only affordable option in Mazunte. The clip on the lock in my room was broken and the owner, to his credit, did eventually fix it after asking twice
it is one of the prettiest hotels we have ever stayed. it is like paradise. so clean, pretty, elegant and staff is amazing. they welcome us very warmly
