I heard some not great things about Marrakech but actually being there changed my mind.
Walking around Marrakech is fun, but the heat can be too much, and prepared to be stopped by people trying to give you a ride or sell you something, but no one is rude to you.
Bahia palace was way too overcrowded.
Very fun place to go shopping.

Absolutely beautiful, friendly city.
Absolutely beautiful, friendly city. Take time to listen to the locals, they are proud of their crafts and pleased to show you local techniques, no need to be intimidated. It can help to have a local guide for your first few hours to take you through the souks to get your bearings and help understand how to haggle if you want to buy, or to respectfully say no if you don't. We consistently found a simple polite 'no' if you are not intending to buy is fine and respected. Our children, 12 and 14, felt safe and enjoyed the whole experience. It can be very busy, so stay close together, but people are lovely and friendly with huge amounts to see and explore. Bring extra space in your luggage for shopping to take home, the ceramics, glass, silks etc which are just beautiful. We loved Le Jardin and Cafe Arabe for food. With kids, for a day away from the city if it is busy, the waterpark Oasiria is lovely.

Marrakesh is beautiful city.
Marrakesh is beautiful city. The people were very friendly and polite, they do not bother you, very well mannered. You have to use your bargaining skills when buying from the Souk. It was very clean.

I feel like my last review didn’t adequately show my appreciation for the how lively Riad Safar is. It could not be more beautiful, it was quiet and I slept really well. The roof top with the small pool was wonderful and all of the staff were so kind. The architectural details were stunning, the tile fountain and central courtyard is a true gem, the curated art was spectacular and the two very young kittens without momma were so cute. We lived our stay there!

The best tip I can give about visiting Marrakech: stay in the medina. The rest of the city is lovely but the bustle, colour and life in the old city is beyond compare. Bring your most comfortable walking shoes, (and buy some more in the souks!), prepare to get lost a lot, and don’t be afraid to haggle if you want something. Marrakech is truly a feast for the senses, but there are pockets of quiet and tranquillity throughout. And don’t forget to leave plenty of room in your luggage allowance, you’ll be leaving with bags of treasure. For sightseeing, Bahia Palace and Ibn Yusuf Madrasa are two must-sees and for sheer chaos and exuberance, Jmaa el Fnaa is spectacular, especially after dark.

Stunning city!
Stunning city! The colours, the energy, the madness on the streets made it all so unique. Night time was a party every day!! These people are really fun!! :) There is so much to see!! I stayed for 4 days but definitely could have stayed longer. Next time!! Even then, I managed one day up in the mountains and one day in the desert. What a contrast!!
Marrakesh I love you!!!
Stayed in many Riads over the last years in Marrakesh but this is by far the best one I've ever stayed at!
The rooms are like a 5 star hotel beautiful, comfortable and big. I booked a suite so of course even bigger but also the rooms look very spacious. The breakfast where to start? Honestly insane absolutely fantastic! The rooftop terrace with the amazing view is absolutely superb and great to relax either in the morning as in the afternoon.
The staff are very welcoming and will go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant.
the place is absolutely beautiful, like an oasis in the busy market. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. it was amazing to chill in the pool in the warm afternoon or relax at the rooftop at nights. above all, is how the Riad is managed and the staff, make you feel you are in with dear friends always with a smile no matter what. you will not find the level of service in any other top 5 star hotels. the team really goes out of their way to make you happy. so glad we got the chance to spend 3 days in this wonderful place.
Probably one of the best welcome we’ve had so far in Morocco. We sat with the two guys and talked a lot about our trip, as well as where we should and shouldn’t go in Marrakesh. Rooms are big, clean and the look is just wow. The whole property is brand new and we can feel it. Even though it is a new riad (just opened a month ago), we couldn’t guess it. AC was running well, breakfast was tasty, terasse is nicely decorated (and they’re looking forward to improve it). Everything is simply perfect.
Location is perfect for Agadir. Walking distance to marina and has free parking on site.
All meals had great choice and excellent quality. Tried Moroccan restaurant and it was perfect.
Hotel spotlessly clean in all areas.
Bar choice excellent for an all inclusive (not your usual cheap alcohol) cocktails are great which is a huge plus. Staff throughout the vicinity are very polite and work very hard. Spa/hammam was brilliant, very relaxing.
Overall, definetely the best hotel in Agadir!
Great budget hotel in the heart of the action. Great shared rooftop terrace, simple and clean rooms, central location, located on one of the Main Street entrances to the Medina so easy to find and always felt safe.
In addition staff including Mustapha and Joauad are what truly make this place amazing as they are kind and super helpful. They always take the time to answer questions, provide lots of great suggestions and really care that their guests have a great experience in Marrakesh.
Jacqueline was a wonderful host, we got a lot of useful travel advice during our first stay in Morocco. The Riad is like a little paradise. We especially enjoyed the breakfasts in the court under the orange trees and the afternoon relaxation on the roof terrace. The hotel staff was super kind and professional. The location is excellent, within 15 minutes of walking from the main square. Also there are some nice restaurants nearby. We would love to return some day.
The staff are okay except for the room. We asked for 2 twin beds but we were given a queen bed instead despite the fact that they said we were given upgrade but we didn't feel the upgrade due to the uncomfortable sofabed
We left the hotel one day prior to the devestating earthquake
We are very sad for what happened to our brothers in Marrakech and All over Morocco
We ask almity Allah to heal their wounds and bless their Dead
Amazing property, lot of nice sitting areas. Most importantly, staff here is super amazing. I have never received such hospitality - much better then even 5 star hotels. Massive thanks to entire Anya team - Simo, Mohammed, Khaled, Abdul and all others (sorry I forgot few names) but you all were amazing and our stay was great because of you
The food, service, and style of the hotel were amazing. I highly recommend the quad bike/camel excursion bc the views are great. The hotel is located in the market where a lot of vendors sell items. You will definitely get an authentic Morocco experience if you stay with this riad.
Riad Aya is a hidden Moroccan gem for any tourist. Riad Aya is an incredible place to stay, to live and enjoy your days in Marrakesh….Gracias to give us the opportunity to know part of Morocco culture and, big hugs for all the staff….you are amazing hosts, 100% people oriented.
Very nice hotel, lots going on to keep everyone busy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Especially Salma, Abdel and Ayoub. There is an outdoor heated pool which was an unexpected bonus. Lots of choice at mealtimes and good cocktails included in the all inclusive package.
Upon arrival, the help desk were slow to respond. the check in process took ages to be completed!
the elevators were only 1- operating! in what said 5 starts hotels!!
we never had a chance to find a parking spot. we HAD to park in the street!
Nothing. It was just a disaster! The worst hotel stay I've experienced so far.
It does not deserve at all the 5 star rating.
I was shocked by the very bad quality of service at all levels: reception, food, waiters, swimming pool, spa...
All inclusive
Safe area
Friendly Staff
Much bigger hotel that expected, two pools, two bars etc
Good location, cheap taxi travel or free hotel shuttle bus to city
