Located 10 minutes away from Haputale in the middle of the tea plantations, White Monkey is a family home that is beautiful and felt very homy to us. Rooms are quite confortable and with beautiful view when no mist. Very quiet place. We were picked up in Haputale free of charge, welcomed with a cup of tea by the parents and sons of the family. At night, dinner is delicious and shared with the other guests. It is a place of exchange, to learn about sri lankan culture, meet other travelers, or just rest facing the valleys. One of our best stays in Sri Lanka, thank you again !

We spent 10 wonderful days in Haputale. Thank you Dias family for your warmth, friendliness and help. Mother Farina is the best cook in Sri Lanka. Her cooking fantasy is fantastic. Viraj is very attentive and ready to resolve any issue. Shirodh is a wonderful guide. We showed us a beautiful Lipton Seat. There is also Frank. At his hut you can have a delicious roti and tea during the day. The hotel is in an amazingly beautiful location. You can see sunrise right at the door of the room. We walked every day through tea plantations and mountains. The shared dinners turned out to be a new but interesting experience for us. We met interesting people from many countries and had talked a lot. I hope we will come to White Monkey next year

The location close to Lipton’s Seat and the view on the valley are wonderful. The room was simple but clean and with a comfortable bed. Above all, the owners are such a nice and welcoming family ! They can also drive you to Lipton’s Seat, tell you on the way about the country, the tea culture and the every day life in the area and explain how you can walk from there down to the village. And I am speechless about the delicious home-made food. All this In a very friendly atmosphere of travelers from around the world. A certainty: you will regret leaving this place.
