We had a modern room for my husband and me which we wanted, and then there was a traditional adjoining room with rattan flooring for my son which he wanted. We even tried the onsen there which was an unexpected treat. We had a perfect view of Mt. Fuji from your observation deck,

We stayed here two nights. The hotel is not new. The men at the front desk as very business like, but we enjoyed our stay. The beds in our room were on tatami mats on the floor, which we were aware when we booked. We had some extra mattress pads in the closet, so we doubled them and they were very comfortable. Room was clean. Bathroom was basic. View of the lake was great. Each room has an individual thermostat. (We turned ours way down and had a window open in April.) Two chairs in the room. No modern extras, like a coffee maker or lights for the bed area which you can dim.
BREAKFAST. The breakfast alone makes this hotel worth the trip. Traditional Japanese breakfast served as a traditional Japanese breakfast. Two hot pots plus. VERY friendly women who obviously take great pride in the breakfast service.
Great location on the lake. Convenient for hiking and biking.

Amazing location, excellent views, very cute boutique property. Rooftub hot tub is really nice and worth the extra charge. Onsens were really great quality as well. We did shabu shabu for dinner and it was delicious.

We got the room with Mt Fuji and Lake view - which was amazing. The whole experience with authentic Japanese accommodation and dining was incredible. Yes, it is costly but worth the money. The staff were incredibly friendly and they provided a shuttle to and from the station, they can keep your bags at checkout and even deliver them to the station for our scheduled bus departure. You have access to the spring water baths (onsen) which are really comfortable. The food was laid out in traditional style - they accommodate vegetarians too.

We rented a car and drove from Tokyo to Yamanashi and for us it was perfect. We were able to see all 5 lakes in one day going from one to the other in succession.
The restaurants in the area offer a great variety of sushi, izakaya and bbq. There is also a great Omakase restaurant nearby the hotel called Fresh Water that offers a different experience to the usual tried and tested.
On the day of our departure back to Tokyo we decided to swing by Fuji Q Highland with low expectations - the theme park is legit with a great Naruto Village, high octane rollercoaster rides and from our own experience a great haunted house that lasts the majority of an hour to walk through.
Loved it. Would definitely revist the entire area.

Check the weather forecast before planning your trip to Kawaguchiko, as beside the view of Mt Fuji there's very little to do there, also restaurants are very rare and working hours is almost not existent, everything closes early or not open at all... so be mindful of the meals you should carry with you.

The view of the lake is absolutely stunning, but it's quite disappointed that we didn't catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji. It's always a good idea for travelers to check the weather beforehand.

They had an English speaking staff member during the day so that was nice. The views of Lake Kawaguchiko were phenomenal! The rooms were very spacious and bathrooms seemed updated in the room. We didn't pay for dinner, but the breakfast was delicious! Definitely seemed worth paying the price listed for a one night stay.
This place is so convenient to the ropeway and the shuttle van will pick you up and take you back to Kawaguchiko station, which was very nice. I used my wifi calling to call the hotel from the station to pick us up.
The hotel is well located, around 15min walk from Kawaguchiko station (you could also take a public bus for around 200 yen, but they were too crowded to go with luggage). The hotel offered a free shuttle from 8am to 11am back to Kawaguchiko station. They have free drinks and cookies at the reception and were very organized. Breakfast was around $25 per person/day, but offered a good variety of foods for all tastes. Bedroom had a nice view of the Mt Fuji and everything you needed inside.
The Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko view from the lobby and room is breathtaking. The restaurant Western and Japanese food was awesome. The hotel staff provided exceptional customer service in particular the restaurant waiting staff, Yamada san and Emmanel Sato san. I was also delighted to have complimentary beverages at the lobby anytime of the day and also ramen for supper at night. My wife and I enjoyed our stay at La Vista very much. Thank you La Vista!
The traditional Japanese nature of Hotel Asafuji was amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful with a great eye for detail. The dinner and breakfast that we had were SO good and beautifully prepared and presented at our own table. The onsen was great (a wonderful experience) and, of course, there was Mt Fuji visible (between times of cloud cover) from our room's window which also had an excellent view of Lake Kawaguchiko.
I got a room with window looking out to Mt Fuji. Woke up to incredible nice view of the majestic mountain from our futon. Dining hall have full length glass panels and we dined with Mt Fuji as backdrop. Breakfast and dinner buffets have good spread of Chinese / western / japanese dishes and drinks as well. Hotel provided complementary shuttle bus to Kawaguchiko station at 30mins intervals, public onsen was clean and spacious, etc.
First time visiting Mount Fuju and the hotel offers stunning views of Mount Fuji. It is nearby Kawaguchiko station and other attractions. They provide complimentary transportation to and from the station. The Japanese dinner and breakfast provided were exceptional. It was a reasonable price. The hotel features a delightful open-air onsen and tasteful interior decor. I would definitely choose to stay there again on my next visit.
Great Japanese experience, sleeping on the Tatami and drinking tea while wearing traditional clothes for free!!! I didn't expect that.
Showers and toilets are shared but not to bad...
BTW The hotel is just next to a graveyard 🪦 so if you're afraid of that specially when coming back at nigh, you may skip this place...
Be ready to take off your shoes and use sandals inside de place.
This is one of the best hotels in Fujikawaguchiko. The staff was very approachable, helpful and polite. The breakfast buffet was enjoyable and the service from the staff there was excellent!
The view of Mt Fuji was amazing from our room! We stayed at Room 710. Highly recommended, we'd definitely stay here again. :-)
The view of the second floor leads you to that of Mt. Fuji.
(On a good weather)
One can also walk to the parking space behind the building to take in the scene.
The hotel is within 10 mins to the station, within 5 mins to the 7-11, and within 2 mins to the nearest bus station, all of which make it very desirable.
If you’re looking for a place to stay on your trip to Fuji, Plaza Inn Kawaguchiko is the best choice.
Located just in front of the Kawaguchiko Station, arround 150 meters by walk.
It’s an inn type of hotel. But it has everything we need.
The old man at the front desk was really friendly and helpful.
The hotel was a little bit of a walk from the station (as we didn't book the shuttle) but it is in a good position between station, restaurants and the lake. The view of Mt Fuji from our window was spectacular as well as from the roof top. We chose the Japanese style breakfast tray was it was delicious
The staff was very helpful, as one would expect in Japan, but the level of their English was quite exceptional! If you struggle with speaking the local language, consider accommodation in this hotel/ryokan.
At dinner, they were very considerate towards our dietary limitations.
Excellent location near Oishi park. Very friendly, English-speaking, and helpful staff. The hotel is well designed. I stayed in a private room and everything was very good. They even served basic meals, which were very welcome in rural Japan where everything closes at 6pm.
It was and excellent price for what it offer. Very well located. About 10 minutes in bus to Kawaguchiko station. They offer transportation from the hotel to the station for free. The breakfast was great and they have a western and oriental option.
Good location on the lake because buses aren’t so reliable so knew we could always walk back from kawaguchi town or train station. Fuji view hotel room was a great size with a beautiful view. Bus stop outside hotel and free shuttle into town
It’s Japanese style hotel. Staff, Mr. Tommy was very kind, friendly, warm welcome and very good support. It’s good experience to stay at this hotel. Highly recommended if you want to experience a ryokan staying.
