I spent only 2 nights in Nagasaki and wish I'd had more time. It is a big city with much to see and do. Our ferry to the coal island was cancelled do to windy weather and we were called and refunded which was nice. We spend a lot of time at the museum and found it very interesting. We went to the port, where we saw the Queen Elizabeth boarding and had lunch at a nice Chinese restaurant very close on the 5th floor - very popular! There is a street for shopping for souvenirs very close too!
Nagasaki has much more than I saw and wish I can go again!

Nagasaki is a city full of history and charm.
Nagasaki is a city full of history and charm. I love the scenic view of Nagasaki port. People here are very warm and friendly, and it's a city full of nostalgic vibe. Besides that, Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum has very modern and minimalistic architecture style. I like Champon a lot and have it almost everyday during my stay in Nagasaki.

A beautiful city which has unique history of being exposed to other countries, i.e. China, Netherlands, Portugal / Spain, England while the rest of the country was closed. It is also an important witness and victim of the A-bomb.
Don't forget to enjoy the view from Inasa yama.
Also, it offers various food options - shippoku-ryori can be eaten approximately 4000 per person if it is lunch.
We did not get to go to islands and Shimabara etc this time as well as House tembos....
It is a little hard to access by shinkansen now, but it was worth a visit.

The Night View is one of the best I've ever seen (second only to Hong Kong). We went up on the Rope Way, then discovered there was a Slope Car ascent as well--great for a return trip. The Dejima Wharf was a fantastic place to walk. The food in the restaurants around the city was wonderful. The trolley was fun, too.

A short stay like 2 days & 2 nights should be able to cover...
A short stay like 2 days & 2 nights should be able to cover all the major attractions in Nagasaki. Booked a hotel that provides onsen as it will be useful after much walking from one attraction to another. Buy the one-day tram pass and plan the number of attractions you can cover within the day or night... Then, have a good dinner at the Nagasaki Dejima Wharf... very good sashimi and must try the Uni Donburi!
The style of this hotel. The way the staff remembers your requests and cares for you. The scent of freshly cut lilies in the lobby. Beautiful spacious room bearing the atmosphere of the golden times it was built in, breathtaking views from the window, which you can open and breathe. And yes, a lifetime amount of fresh Nagasaki biscuits I consumed at a buffet-style dinner. And a big steamy traditional bath at the 3rd floor. And the cozy shuttle-bus to the station down the hill. Highly recommend this hotel.
Great hotel in a good location. 10 minutes walk from Nagasaki train station and a further 15/20 minutes walk to the Chinatown/Dejima area. Close to tram station for going further afield (e.g. Atomic Bomb Museum/Peace Park/Oura/Glover Garden) . Free tasty coffee in reception in the morning.
Fantastic spa, massage area and reading room on the top floor not to be missed.
We didn't try the free night time food but this is available.
Very good breakfast for US $17. Great location next to train station and tram. Lots of restaurants and food stores within walking distance surrounding the hotel. Great English speaking concierge who gave us excellent tips on visiting the different tourist locations. Can purchase tram tickets at the concierge. underground parking convenient but tight spaces so need a small car.
Location-wise, Candeo Hotels Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown was great. It was at the heart of the city and wasn't very far from the JR station via tram. Breakfast was continental although I had to pay extra for it. But best of all was the spa. This was available to all clients and was open to all. The best time to head in, if you're shy, is about 5-6 PM.
The location is very convenient, just a 5 minute walk to the bus terminal and less than 10 minutes to the railway station. The hostel is nicely decorated and has many brochures about sights to visit in Nagasaki and surrounding areas. Check in was easy and available in the after hours. Breakfast was delicious although not included in the price.
I checked in early and the hotel had to hold my bags but when I showed up later to get my keys they had already delivered my luggage to my room and I really appreciated that. The breakfast was amazing! There were a lot of great options. The tram stop was right outside the front door and there was a door connecting the Family Mart to the hotel.
The room was clean and comfortable with more space that the average hotel room, very clean and exactly as depicted in the online pictures. The rooftop Sento was wonderful, I used the outside bath at sunset and watched sheet lightning over the hills of Nagasaki before heading out for dinner
Close proximity to Train, bus, and trollies. The restaurants/bars were in walking distance. One you got familiar with the public transportation, getting around was a breeze. The hotel has a strip mall on the bottom floor which has everything you could need. BLACKOUT CURTAINS!!
Good location - a Streetcar stop directly outside the hotel, a short walk to a shopping complex with some cafés, and a 15 minute walk from Nagasaki Station. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are typical for Japanese corporate hotels, which is perfectly fine!
location is a bit far from main station but easy to access by taxi. there are also taxi stand by in front of hotel. location is great, near shopping street, tram, and bus stop.
shower room is a bit too small but there is public bath available. I love the public bath!
I’ve been travelling around Japan and this hotel is the best of best hotel. Perfect Location, excellent staffs, room is super clean and comfortable.
I love Nagasaki, I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you very much for all staffs.
The hotel had a wonderful view over Nagasaki. It was a little way from the main town, but we had a car so it was not a problem. There was also a courtesy bus that serviced the hotel down to the station.
buffet breakfast, they even allowed me to take leftovers or even new ones to my room.
very convenient to most of famous attractions. Nagasaki Atomic peace museum can be walked there too
