We had a modern room for my husband and me which we wanted, and then there was a traditional adjoining room with rattan flooring for my son which he wanted. We even tried the onsen there which was an unexpected treat. We had a perfect view of Mt. Fuji from your observation deck,

We stayed here two nights. The hotel is not new. The men at the front desk as very business like, but we enjoyed our stay. The beds in our room were on tatami mats on the floor, which we were aware when we booked. We had some extra mattress pads in the closet, so we doubled them and they were very comfortable. Room was clean. Bathroom was basic. View of the lake was great. Each room has an individual thermostat. (We turned ours way down and had a window open in April.) Two chairs in the room. No modern extras, like a coffee maker or lights for the bed area which you can dim.
BREAKFAST. The breakfast alone makes this hotel worth the trip. Traditional Japanese breakfast served as a traditional Japanese breakfast. Two hot pots plus. VERY friendly women who obviously take great pride in the breakfast service.
Great location on the lake. Convenient for hiking and biking.
Offering magnificent views of Mount Fuji and Lake Shoji in every room, Shoji Mount Hotel features 2 large public baths, which are open 24 hours. Kawaguchiko Station is a 35-minute drive away.

What an amazing place to stay!!! We had such a clear view of Mt Fuji, honestly felt like we wasted our time going to tourist locations because we could see the mountain better from our room. Get the mountain view room, there is nothing like waking up to Mt Fuji! The onsen was phenomenal, so private and relaxing. We both have tattoos and had no problems in the onsen.

We rented a car and drove from Tokyo to Yamanashi and for us it was perfect. We were able to see all 5 lakes in one day going from one to the other in succession.
The restaurants in the area offer a great variety of sushi, izakaya and bbq. There is also a great Omakase restaurant nearby the hotel called Fresh Water that offers a different experience to the usual tried and tested.
On the day of our departure back to Tokyo we decided to swing by Fuji Q Highland with low expectations - the theme park is legit with a great Naruto Village, high octane rollercoaster rides and from our own experience a great haunted house that lasts the majority of an hour to walk through.
Loved it. Would definitely revist the entire area.

Check the weather forecast before planning your trip to Kawaguchiko, as beside the view of Mt Fuji there's very little to do there, also restaurants are very rare and working hours is almost not existent, everything closes early or not open at all... so be mindful of the meals you should carry with you.

The view of the lake is absolutely stunning, but it's quite disappointed that we didn't catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji. It's always a good idea for travelers to check the weather beforehand.

This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. My boyfriend worked at 5-star hotels in the past and even he said the service at this hotel was impeccable. We were very lucky to see Mt Fuji from our room and the private onsen. We also loved the traditional Japanese room, the dinner and breakfast selection and being able to wear the yukata provided by the ryokan. Definitely the most authentic Japanese experience of our trip. We wish we had stayed longer than just one night. We will be back at this ryokan every time we visit Japan from now on.
Amazing hotel, the best one we stayed at in Japan! Beautiful room and view over Lake Kawaguchiko. Great value for money since they serve free buffets with hot and cold dishes 3 times a day, breakfast, tea and cocktail hour. You can eat all your meals there. Also for cocktail hour alcoholic drinks are free and they have a good selection of spirits from around the world. Calm, spa like feeling in the hotel with women & men onsen and privet onsen (45min per booking). Super close to the Fuji view cable car.
It’s quite new and very clean. The bed is very comfortable. Our room is facing Mt Fuji which has an awesome view. The hotel provide shuttle service in the morning at 9, 9.30 & 10am. They can send your luggage to their Hao Coffee cafe near the train station at 500 yen per luggage while you go sightseeing. You will be given a 250 yen credits for redemption either at Hao coffee or Hao kitchen. Just as the name of the hotel, it’s really a 好place to stay. 😃
Got the Ryokan (traditional Japanese room)
The staff are extremely professional, polite and considerate. They offer luggage hold until you check into the hotel (3PM), and will also offer to drive you to Kawaguchiko Station when you check out.
The public bath (onsen) was clean and very relaxing, didn't see much people when I went. Sometimes, got the whole onsen to myself (go around 12 am, no one is there)
Amazing traditional hotel (roykan). Loved the japanese style room (bathroom looked recently renovated) overlloking the beautiful Kawaguchiko lake. Staff was friendly and helpful, they have free shuttle to the station (which is 15mins walking otherwise). Breakfast was very rich and tasty in a dining hall with a beautifull view. There was also a bar/game room with pool, fussball and other games for free.
Near to lake and station.
Clean hotel and room.
Beautiful japanese breakfasts.
The hotel driver is a person of warmth. I have travelled in and around Tokyo for two weeks and he is the first person who sees me as a person to relate and not a foreigner problem to trouble shoot.
The hotel trains future hospitality professionals and the trainees are eager to learn.
the hotel room a bit old (Ryokan with Fuji mountain View) but facilities in room are very complete, the staff at receptions are very warm welcome and helpful, also the hotel have shuttle bus service to kawaguchiko station and you can reserve PRIVATE ONSEN for 50min with 3xxx yen this quite reasonable price. So overall everything was perfect.
Location right by the Yagizaki Parc, on the shore of Lake Kawaguchi, but most important with an absolutely stunning view on the Mount Fuji.
Hotel is designed like a Ryokan: rooms with Tatami mats, comfortable futons as beds, shared bathrooms with small Onsen, optional breakfast (changes by day between Japanese and western style).
We can see the Mount Fuji from our room which is unforgettable memory. The room is big and clean. The staffs are nice too. The location is 30mins walk from Kawaguchiko station. Eateries is 15 mins walk from Hotel. Nice experiences of Japanese culture living style. Will come again. Shower is share and toilet is inside the room.
This is one of the best hotels in Fujikawaguchiko. The staff was very approachable, helpful and polite. The breakfast buffet was enjoyable and the service from the staff there was excellent!
The view of Mt Fuji was amazing from our room! We stayed at Room 710. Highly recommended, we'd definitely stay here again. :-)
If you’re looking for a place to stay on your trip to Fuji, Plaza Inn Kawaguchiko is the best choice.
Located just in front of the Kawaguchiko Station, arround 150 meters by walk.
It’s an inn type of hotel. But it has everything we need.
The old man at the front desk was really friendly and helpful.
Get to experience the traditional Japanese Ryokan and Japanese dinner and breakfast. Staffs are polite and helpful. Hotel provide pickup service from Kawaguchi station. Staffs are able to communicate in English. The onsen is good, you get to enjoy mountain Fuji from the hotel onsen.
We stayed in a Japanese style room with no views for Fuji mountain. Although the facilities are very basic it is very authentic and clean. This hotel is great value for money! It was right near a bus station, restaurants and few minutes walk to the train station.
Nice hotel. 10-15 minutes walk from kawaguchiko station. 5 minit from mini market, drug store, and supermarket. My second time stayed in this hotel. Lower prices compared other hotels, but facilities are good enough for me. Will come back again
The hostel itself is really cool. The decor and the layout is an awesome blend of Japanese and industrial styles. My room was clean, modern and comfy with great Mt Fuji views. There are good restaurants nearby the hotel.
Nice hotel located directly on the lake. We had a traditional Japanese room with the view on Mount Fuji. The onsen with the lake view is a good plus. We had a dinner at the hotel restaurant, it was delicious .
Fantastic to stay in a traditional Japanese hotel with futon, rattan floor and sliding doors. Location is excellent - right beside the lake and near to lots of places to eat
