Only a 1-minute walk from the Madarao Kogen Ski Resort, the lovely Annex Aburaya features a hot public bath, a tennis court and ski gear rentals. Free Wi-Fi is available at the dining room, and a free-use washing machine is on-site. The Aburaya offers Western rooms with 2 carpeted stories, beds and a TV. Japanese-style rooms come with a tatami (woven-straw) floor and traditional futon bedding. All rooms have air conditioning, heating and an attached toilet, while bathing facilities are shared. Pets are welcome at a charge at the property, which resembles a chateau. It offers a free shuttle service from/to JR Iiyama Station, and sells ski passes. The dining room is available for mini-concerts, and a big TV or a projector can be installed. Free parking is available. A mixture of Japanese and Western food using local seasonal ingredients is served at the dining room. Annex Aburaya is a 5-minute drive from Nozawa Onsen’s Maguse hot springs, and a 20-minute drive from JR Iiyama Train Station.
