Great place but be prepared to pay to use the beaches.
Great place but be prepared to pay to use the beaches. If you are going to stay for the whole day then you will get your money's worth, if only for a couple of hours it is not worth it. The beaches all appear to be owned by the resorts so you need a day pass to enter onto them.
Montego Bay is amazing though, you can watch the aeroplanes landing and the landing lights start in the Ocean, great to watch.

If your a new travellers to Mo'Bay, the Deja Resort is in the heart of the hip strip; from here nothing is too far, popular beach is across the road, for those travelling long haul the transfer once you arrive is a 15min short taxi ride. Other resturants if desired are all within walking distance, even a trip in to Mo'Bay is within walking distance; I'm a Brit so walking everywhere is pretty much standard but a short cab ride is available if you so desire.

Margeritaville and Aquasol are closed due to a wave that destroyed them. No go karts. Heard pelican cove was good but since we cooked we didn’t go out at night. We didn’t feel comfortable doing that anyway. All I he tourist shops sell the same stuff. The shops that say groceries have very little. Go to progressive foods and stock up on water, dairy, etc. there was no lettuce so I made greek style salads with peppers and tomatoes. Toasted westerns. Pasta and rice.
We spent most days at doctors cave which is perfect and lunch good too. $50 per day for one umbrella and two chairs. We had lunch on the beach every day. It was great.
Tried harmony beach twice it was good. But I would not wander further than that. We took local red plate taxis for 200 JM or $2 US. The KFC sells the most amount of chicken daily it’s a lineup and drive through around the corner, you won’t get any. Just get the pizza next door and give the leftover to whoever asks. This is across from harmony beach. 🏖️ I like that they search all our bags for glass and knives and hang on to them. Good! We felt safe there too.
Doctors cave was the best. People everywhere were super friendly.
Next time, I’ll go back to Negril. It’s more zen there.
But I’d stay a night or two in Montego Bay. And hang out during the day. Not the night.

Unless your all-inclusive resort has a lot of options to keep you entertained, nice beach access, and good food, you better find a different part of the country for your stay. Mo Bay is a run-down town, not fun walking or strolling the city's pot hole ridden streets. It has an uneasy feeling of " I made a wrong choice" place. You'll be constantly bothered by people trying to sell you weed. offer you a "boy for the night," taxi services, or beg for money. Avoid!

I was only there one night. I didn't get to see much. The arrival area of the airport was not very nice. The restroom was terrible. The departure part of the airport was nice but the food was very expensive.

I liked everything but i was sick with my stomach so I couldn’t fully enjoy everything.
I liked Mango walk homestay because I was sick and needed to rest and these preppie let you rest and they are peaceful and mind their own business.
Me and a friend stayed here for a few days, and we were more than satisfied. The room was nice and clean and we like the pool with the ocean view. The hosts are very nice people with a big heart and very welcoming. They helped us out in every situation and were super friendly!! I would recommend to stay at this place rather than in a hotel. Not only because it cheaper, but also you are in contact with very nice locals that know the best spots of Jamaica. We will definitely come back!
Thank you Lily& Dougy- we appreciate you.
Liked the staff, loved the hotel and grounds. Not too flashy but nicely laid back with Jamaican feel. The beach was lovely and bar on beach. The endless drinks were nicely made and staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful grounds, pool and tennis courts. I am not a fan of large hotels but I really enjoyed my stay as did my two adult children. The entertainment in the evening was consistently good and we felt really comfortable and looked after. Very relaxing and I would stay again. Very close to airport.
I loved the friendly people the great staff Delroy the bellman, Carla who made my wife's birthday a very special one by serving us her birthday dinner on the beach all by herself running back and forth to the hotel to get the food and the drinks she even made a special cake for her the chefs food was excellent they treated us like we mattered to them great staff and we can't forget Jacqueline the hotels supervisor who got us in a better room and made sure we had all we needed best staff this far
The beach doctors cave club is in front of hotel, they give you the access , you pay for umbrella or chair. The food service all inclusive is ok nothing extraordinary. The hotel was in process of remodeling. Rooms were clean , no mosquitos. The beach was awesome especially in a sunny day. Turquoise clear water. Nice warm water ocean. I was very happy about this. I focus on this. Good value. Next door resort much higher prices. I recommend this basic resort all inclusive. Sep 2023
we didn’t make it past the gate, it looked to be okay but the property manager ( if that was who she was) made me very uncomfortable. when we arrived we waited for about an hour to be let in the gate and downtown Montego Bay is no place for nice family without a man present. Once the person arrived they wanted our id’s and cash for the room and told they had a plumbing leak. Thankfully the people noticed us waiting and stayed with us to redirect us to a secure hotel.
The food is absolutely amazing. I have been to a lot of all inclusive resorts and their food can be bland, but not here! The entertainment is top tier! It’s amazing that they put so much effort into entertaining their guests with their shows. The shows were like something I’d pay to see back in the states, but it was included! The staff were amazing and helpful. The rooms were huge! Everything was clean and Covid precautions were taken seriously.
We spent our honeymoon at Déja Resort and had an amazing time, all inclusive, plus access to the beach across the road. The property is well situated right on the hip strip and is close to many amenities. Caters for all, has jacuzzi, bar, gym, etc. We'd stay there again. Food was excellent, love the vibes of the place
Picked this hotel quickly after a long drive. The receptionist was lovely and check in was quick.
The room was basic and pleasant. Very clean and tidy. It was equipped with a fridge, TV and air conditioning.
Excellent location across from the sea. (Dead end) Of Montego Bay.
Ate at Wings and Tings nearby.
The hosts were extremely welcoming. The pool and facilities were clean and the hospitality was brilliant. The views were unmatched. The beautiful Miss Lily made best homemade authentic breakfast we had throughout our 2 week trip. I would recommend everyone to stay here if you visit Montego Bay.
This is utterly disappointing 😞 as we we had booked an all inclusive Hotel, rather upon our arrival we were ushered into what appeared to be a Motel. We had to go hunt food on the road. There were no provisions for meals, it was not even a bed and breakfast, all we had was bed.
Amazing hostel in Montego bay! Run by a wonderful owner and a big friendly dog this place had great dorms, amazing bathrooms and a huge communal kitchen plus a big garden area and tv room. I loved my stay here and it's close to the beaches!
The location, from my point of view was good being outside the hurlyburly of central Montego Bay and the off-road parking was a boon. Breakfast was satisfactory and the demeanour and helpfulness of staff could not be faulted.
Everything! Clean, Modern, Quiet, owner thought of every convenience with this unit.
Beautiful pool and walk to waters edge.
Right next to Montego Bay Yacht club for a 5 star dinner.
The food was BUSSINNN! I expected it to be mid because it was all inclusive but it was seasoned so good. Literally everything I ate there was good. 10/10
