In the historic center of Ortigia, a few steps from the sea and from all the main facilities ( parking,shops, restaurants, supermarkets, boutiques) do not give up the pleasure of staying at La Gorgone. Our apartmentss dates of 1801 and were used as lodgings by the Augustinian fathers of the adjacent former Convent of Sant 'Agostino (now the Papyrus Museum). Completely renovated in 2017, La Gorgone offers 4 charming apartments with bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and space outside (small terrace with sea view, small courtyard or balcony).In 2023 n 2023 we renovated all our bathrooms. Guests will find rooms equipped with all comforts (wi-fi, TV, a / c, towels and sheets, hair dryer, capsule coffee machine, kitchen equipment) combined with the charm of staying in a historic house within walking distance of Piazza Duomo. A shared washing machine on the ground floor is at your disposal. If you arrive by car we will give you a permit to pass through the restricted traffic zone (ZTL)for your entire stay. Ask us for a private parking space at the time of booking (parking spaces are limited) just 170 meters away or park without a reservation at the Talete car park. During summer, a 2-minute walk away you will find the solarium Forte Vigliena from which you can access the sea. On request we provide: - transfer service to / from Catania and Comiso airport - baby cot - private garage upon request - 2 vintage bikes
La Gorgone Ortigia Apartments is located in Ortigia, in the ancient Jewish quarter of Giudecca characterized by mikveh, ancient Jewish baths now open to visitors. The location is strategic for a comfortable stay: nearby you will find a supermarket, shops, a bakery with excellent pastries for your breakfasts or ready meals (lasagna, cutlets, grilled vegetables, arancini, pizzas and much more), craft shops, restaurants and trattorias. If you arrive by car we will give you a permit to pass through the restricted traffic zone for your entire stay. Ask us for a private parking space at the time of booking (parking spaces are limited) just 170 meters away or park without a reservation at the Talete car park. A 2-minute walk away you will find the Forte Vigliena solarium in the summer months, with free access to the sea.
