Toscolano-Maderno is on the Lombard shore of Lake Garda. Here the ancient Romans already came on holiday, in fact a villa has recently been discovered, which seems to have belonged to a gladiator. Toscolano is also known for LA VALLE DELLE CARTIERE , a nice walk in the valley will take you to the PAPER MUSEUM where you can see how they once created the sheets of paper, and in summer it is wonderful to walk in the mill of the valley.Leaving from Toscolano you can reach Salò a lovely town, with beautiful shops where you can go shopping, opp Desenzano or Sirmione, where you will find the beautiful thermal baths of CATULLO, always wonderful also the famous ROCCA DI MANERBA, to see the island of rabbits, so called because there are free rabbits. Returning towards Toscolano , in Gardone you will find IL VITTORIALE , home of GABRIELE D'ANNUNZIO , Il GIARDINO BOTANICO HELLER. Taking the ferry from Gardone or from Toscolano Maderno you can visit the beautiful GARDA ISLAND.
