Wonderful and a very ancient town, with many historical buildings to see, unspoiled by the crowds of tourists. It was lively on Saturday with local people walking around shops in the downtown, the prices in the cafes are like for locals. There is a nice view to the river surrounded by the mountains outside the city walls, with a walking path along the river.

Prato is a beautiful town to visit with a range of activities to keep you busy. The restaurants and bars serve authentic, delicious cuisine and have a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The historical centre is easy and safe to wander around day or night with excellent views of Prato from the parapet of Castello dell’Imperatore. Some of the residents speak english, and are patient with travellers who attempt Italian. Molto bene!

No matter when you arrive and no bus/tkt/etc, be assured that one can walk there easily in about 10 minutes and always on main boulevard/street. It's the main hotel in San Marco piazza (big waterfountain). You can almost see the hotel in the distance from stazione. Lot's of ped/zone activity everywhere. I took the public LAM Blue (1 or 2 euro?) bustop for Flrenze just outside SM piazza. Much easier for me than taking train from Prato SM hotel.

A charming quiet little town, sort of a 'mini-Florence', a nice alternative to staying in Florence. It's only a short distance to Florence by train and a good base for exploring the region. The town itself is pretty with lovely surrounding countryside and it's pleasant to walk along the river.
Very fast and easy connection to Florence centre. At the same time Prato is just lovely and has lots of museums, shops and nice bars as well. Perfect balance between busy Florence and sleepy Prato. The apartment is really nice, very clean with old ceilings. There is everything inside you might need. And the apartment is right next to the railway station and is in the old city centre at the same time. We loved our stay there. Also tge owners are extremely friendly and left even some snacks for us.
A very nice and special place to stay above Prato in an old manor house (including a lot of old furniture, etc.) with a perfect view over the city. Very friendly hosts. Varied breakfast. Secure carpark.
Even a restaurant is included in the same building with a moderate price and traditional Tuscan dishes.
Something different to the standard hotel or B&B, if you like contact and exchange with the hosts and other guests (e.g. one big breakfast table).
The apartment Maria offers in Prato's historic centre is a real gem - extremely well-furnished, large, and comfortable with a complete kitchen. She was extremely helpful, kind, and easy to get in touch with. My mother and I mostly ate, shopped, etc. in Prato's little-known (but lovely, charming, and thankfully un-touristed) historic centre and commuted into Florence and Pisa for sightseeing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Perfect location in the historical center(and regarding rehearsals and concert that i had close by), the apartment was bigger and nicer than the photos showed, host was friendly, kitchen was equipped, everything was there, also coffee, tea, herbs. We slept well, bed is good. If returning to Prato, we would choose the same place.
The bed was comfy, the room was spacious, the views from the window were stunning & it was a short distance walking from the train station. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here & for the price it’s totally worth it ! Prato is beautiful & if you’re priced out of Florence this is a great spot to stay the night.
The location is fantastic, next to the Duomo and train station, but also quiet even on a Saturday night! All the amenities and so many great restaurants nearby. We spent our whole weekend in the Chinese part of Prato which is nearby and ate until we couldn't anymore! Highly recommend.
Nice host, good wifi and easy to reach and close to the train station, it's a flat with more private rooms in the centre of Prato, just a few minutes from the City Hall square and the main attractions. Pretty quiet, though you can easily hear the neighbours sometimes.
Excellent, well-organized, and modern accommodation.
Very well located, close to Porta al Serraglio train station, the historic center of Prato, restaurants, grocery stores, and a variety of shops.
I recommend it and if I go back to Prato, I'll stay there again!
Clean rooms, good breakfast, free parking on site ( breakfast can be improved with more options for warm food, not just eggs, sausages and broccoli), close to highway and mall. The hotel is a little outdated for a 4star but it's good value for the money.
The room was clean, comfortable and looked out onto the Bisenzio river. Very well placed for the historic centre of Prato. Also good value. Very good spread at breakfast - how about a fresh fruit salad rather than tinned peaches and pineapple?
The owner is a great host and runs a beautiful B&B in her astonishingly situated ancestral home, err, mansion. The views are breathtaking and the surroundings are very quiet but Prato is still very reachable.
