Beautiful Tuscan buildings with fantastic grounds and views over Tuscany. It is in a great location. San Gimignano about a 15 min drive. Kitchen is stocked with relatively basic equipment but enough to get by. Dim lighting in the house (Il Forno) but partially expected in such an old villa. Pool wasn’t open when we were there (15-25 April) Overall a fantastic trip and a real feel of rural Tuscany. Highly recommend

You can hire bikes at Azienda Agraria Il Castagno, relax by the summer outdoor pool or use the shared barbecue. The property features 2 small lakes, ideal for fishing and picnics. Accommodations at Il Castagno has traditional terracotta floors and exposed stone walls. Each apartment includes a private patio. The elegant villa has 9 bathrooms and a private swimming pool. The estate is 6.8 mi from San Gimignano and 40-minute drive from the Chianti Hills.
