Lots of historical sites in Benevento, an often overlooked destination. The downtown center is very clean and seems brand new, due to the fact that it was heavily bombed during WWII and then rebuilt. There is an incredible Roman theater there along with a Lombard church from 700 BC, also the Arch of Trajan, one of the best preserved Roman structures in Italy. There's also a very interesting Samnite museum, Museo del Sannio. Lots to see. And good restaurants as well including Il Posto and Rosetta al Arco. Everything is closeby and easily walkable.

Apart from the Teatro Romano there is an interesting old town which is easily walkable. It is also a ggod base for exploring the area of the historic sites to the North of Napoli, such as the amphitheatre at Caserta. There are a small number of restaurants, but of good quality serving typical cuisine.

Benevento is a city and comune of Campania, Italy, capital of the province of Benevento, 50 kilometres northeast of Naples. It is situated on a hill 130 metres above sea level at the confluence of the Calore Irpino and the Sabato. In 2020, Benevento has 58,418 inhabitants. It is also the seat of a Catholic archbishop. The city is calm and quiet, offering bars and excellent restaurants, one of which I go to every time; Pampanini, probably the best one in town (in my opinion).

We loved that Benevento had lots of cool little streets and ruins to explore. It's people are very friendly towards tourists and although not much English is spoken (as in larger centres) we found it easy to get by with our limited Italian vocabulary. Lastly, Stregga, the local liquor is ONLY made in Benevento and it is lovely! You'll see it in desserts and gelato in town....yummy. If you're looking for a couple of days in a relaxing, fresh and charming village - think of Benevento.

I would only recommend it for a one night stay over.
I would only recommend it for a one night stay over. That is why we stayed there. It was incredibly hot in June and literally everything was closed and no one, I mean not one person was on the street during the day. No one came out until after 7pm. Lots of graffiti everywhere, very dirty city. Nothing much to see there.

Lots to explore in a small historical center.
Lots to explore in a small historical center. Not to be missed: the Roman amphitheater, the Cathedral and crypt (bombed in WWII and reconstructed during which they excavated and found ancient buildings), St. Sophia an 8th century church), Arco Museo - contemporary exhibit and goddess Isis artifacts, and arch of Trajan.
The main road provides a nice place to walk and stop for a drink and watch the parade of humanity pass by. Also note the recycling of building materials. The city was sacked many times and they just reused what they could find.
They open their door like i was one of their sons. I spent just one night but i had one of my best booking experience in this b&b with an unbelievable panorama over Benevento. The house its very nice and super super clean. The host (Filomena and his husband) are very warm and they will do everything to make you feel as much better as possible. I came by bike to their house and eas very tired and they invited me to have dinner with them in front of a swimming pool. Was great.
Thank you for everything.
Beautifully decorated and peaceful. Location is perfect. A few steps to main district, yet was also very quiet. I felt like I was in a retreat and had the best sleep since arriving in Italy. They have a well stocked kitchen with lots of water and fresh fruit. Each morning you enjoy the roof top terrace with pastries and coffee. Benevento is a beautiful town and Adele and Lellò are wonderful hosts!
These are the most lovely hosts you could ever want. We are already talking about our next trip back to Benevento. We love this hotel for it’s charm and the people that work there. We cannot thank these people enough! Best week of our trip to Italy - if you want to experience the loveliest Italian town and are looking for a wonderful experience, stay at this hotel. You will not be disappointed!
The tastefully renovated flat offers all comforts. The owners are discreetly present, ready to provide directions and advice. The location is very close to the beautiful Roman theatre and about ten minutes from the centre of Benevento.
Benevento is a cosy little town, with many valuable things to see, from the Roman theatre, to the Trajan arch, to the splendid Longobard church of Santa Sofia.
This room was beautiful. Being English the novelty to the pool in the room was amazing. The room was super clean and big. Fully stocked coffee machine and a Fridge. On the ground flood so no stairs. I just loved everything about this room. Pretty much in the town centre but super quiet.
I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay in Benevento.
Excellent location, just next to the Roman theater and within short walking distance to everything you need in Benevento. Public parking is easy and nearby.
Marco was there for us for any question that we had, he even walked with us to the nearby coffee / pizza shop and introduced us to the owner.
Great vacation home.
Classic Italian hotel. Room (suite really) was very comfortable. Staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Location was good -- easy to get to by car but a shortish walk to the major sights. Nice breakfast. Restaurant on the property a treat for carnivores and wine lovers.
Very nice host! Thank you very much for making our stay in Benevento so pleasant. I had a broken shower and it was very quicky repaired after I reported it.
Also, the location is great -- in old town, in a beautiful historical house.
A wonderful place to stay in Benevento! Lovely hosts Adele and Lello made our stay just amazing! Nice, small B&B with great location and hospitality! Parking was in front of the B&B, easy to walk to places! We warmly recommend!
Stayed one night to see Roman archeology in Benevento and visit some nearby wineries. The hotels location is central to these attractions, the Arch of Trajan visible from the hotel's front door, and other sights a short walk.
Lucia’s home was warm, beautiful and we felt at home. The beds were very comfortable and the location was in the heart of Benevento. Easy to walk to stores and restaurants. Lucia is so wonderful, we felt like she was family.
Very friendly proprietor. Nice place for a quick stop in Benevento. Due to Covid, Breakfast was a few doors down and was quick and delicious. There is a coffee maker in the lobby and also a place to sit and hang out.
