The view is to die for!!!! Very comfortable and clean. Large room for a European hotel! The breakfast buffet was HUGE and I certainly did not want to leave the dining room with that view!!

The location is great, very close to route 1. The rooms are big, the beds are comfortable. The service was outstanding. And also for breakfast, we were asked every morning if we wanted scrambled eggs, which were made at the moment.

Cozy town tucked against a black sand beach with beautiful mountainous terrain and multiple viewpoints and other attractions within short driving distance. Definitely a town everyone should stop in when they are visiting Iceland.

Must try black crust pizza.
Must try black crust pizza. The lookout point at Dyrhólaey panoramic views, don't miss it and of course the Black Sand beach. To visit the crashed US plane, either we can walk for 3 hours (both ways) or take shuttle which will cost ISK3000 per person.

Vik is a picturesque gem tucked along the country's stunning south coast! Reynisfjara Beach is easily accessible, where black sand meets crashing waves with towering basalt columns as the backdrop. The wind can get too strong which makes a part of the beach dangerous (sneaker waves warning), but it is still well worth visiting. The town is charming with cozy cafes (try the black crust pizza!), the locals are warm and welcoming. This town is the perfect location to embrace the opportunity to disconnect and immerse yourself in Iceland's raw beauty.

We stayed in Vik for 3 days. Totally loved it.
We stayed in Vik for 3 days. Totally loved it. It is quite a small town, but has a big supermarket (kronan), a really great quality hiking clothes/supplies store, plus a number of cafes and places to eat. We recommend Sudur Vik Restaurant especially.
We did the Katla Track ice cave tour which was amazing and left from Vik!! Also recommend Icelandic Mountain Guides Snowmobile tour - meeting point 25 mins drive from Vik. Black Sand beach is great, as is local open air pool.
We stayed in the Vik hotel which is fabulous, but as we were there for three days, I would have preferred an apartment. The hotel also operates the Vik Apartments (which I hadn't realised before I booked) - they look really good.

We based our family of 5 in Vik to explore the southern coast over 3 nights with our rental car. We found it easier to have one base rather than a different hotel each night.
We visited the Skogafoss Waterfall, Black Sand Beach, YODA caves, gorge hike, Glacier walk at Skaftafell and then onto the Glacier lagoon and Diamond Beach.
We didn’t eat out as it was expensive for what appeared average food so we went to the local supermarket and cooked back at our self catered apartment.
Vik offers lots of adventure based companies who organise tour and expeditions.
The location of the hotel is perfect. You have the famous Black Diamond Beach just a walk away, a petrol station, restaurants and the most beautiful view to wake up to. We got snowed in for two days and the hotel were very accommodating and understanding. We were able to organise to stay in the hotel for another night at the same cost as initially booking. Breakfast was lovely and the room was very nice and clean. The bathroom is wonderful and I had one of the best showers during my stay in Iceland. Overall highly recommended.
The location was close enough to Vik that you had a short 10 minute drive to get food and supplies, but far enough out that you couldn’t see the light position from any surrounding areas. This made it perfect for watching the skies for the northern lights. We were so lucky to see the northern lights both nights that we stayed there!
Also, the deluxe suite that we stayed in was amazing. It was luxurious, huge and spotless. The bed was incredibly comfy. If we come back to Iceland, this is where we will be staying!
Vik was the perfect spot for our family of four to stay while exploring the south coast of Iceland, and the Vik Apartments were excellent! The apartment was spacious, stylish and super clean--still smelled brand new even. We could see the ocean from our balcony and the cliffs and old church from the front entry. The staff at the Vik Hotel where we checked in and out were totally friendly and helpful. Great to have an in-unit washer and dryer too. Would definitely stay here again. Highest recommendations!
The location is nice and interesting, next to the ring road but still seemingly very remote with few other houses/farms in the vicinity (luckily Vík is not that far away by car for groceries). The accommodation is quite large, which a good kitchen (although kitchen utensils could be better) and multiple shared bathrooms for the available rooms. Our room was also quite large and had its own sink, which was a nice addition. The owner also had some local Icelandic woolen sweaters for sale, which were nice.
Outstanding property location and size! The rooms were beautiful and the kitchen lovely! We cooked a nice meal which saved us some money! There were large closets and a mud room/foyer when walking in. The view was incredible and it is just down the road from the black beach and other famous sites. Close to town as well! Wish we could have stayed longer. One of our favorite places to stay in Iceland. You can tell a lot of care and thought went into making this a special place to remember. Good job!
I really liked the breakfast. It was very fulfilling. The pastry was so yummyyy! And the smoked salmon! Arrghh writing this made me hungry again. The room was also nice because it has ensuite bathroom. For the price, if you compare it with another country, it can be considered expensive. But if you compare it to Iceland's hotel price range, it was reasonable. Some guesthouse even have similar rate but with shared bathroom and no breakfast
this hotel was just outside of town, but still convenient to drive back into town. Location had food and bar available on site. Our favorite thing about this place was the geothermal hot tub! We probably stayed in there for three hours. Breakfast was fantastic as well one of the best we had while in Iceland. Staff was very friendly. Room was very basic value was pretty good.
Super stylish property just outside Vik on the main South coast road, near the black sand beach/needles. Great value for money as long as you don't mind sharing (in fact we got our own room as the hotel was so quiet). Kitchen facilities are excellent (self-catering in Iceland saves you a LOT of money). Plenty of hot water and very clean. Very highly recommended.
Of all the hotels we stayed in Iceland the breakfast served here was the best, in terms of variety and quality. My wife doesn't usually eat bacon but she just couldn't help herself gouging on those thin and crunchy and perfectly cooked pieces of bacon!
We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and our room was big, bed firm and comfortable just as we like it.
Convenient location in Vík for a ring road tour. The family room was quite nice: upper loft with two twin beds for kids, with parents on the lower level—one of the few family rooms I’ve stayed in while in Iceland where kids were in a separate area, which was nice. Ample breakfast buffet with tons of options, great shower products and nice linens.
The location is incredible with amazing views over Dyrholaey. Very close to Vik and Reynisfjara, two of our favourite locations in Iceland. The room was very spacious and it only needs a renovation to make it more modern but other than that, we were very pleased. I really enjoyed the breakfast, especially the cake slices.
Perfect accomodation located just a few minutes drive from Vik town centre. The rooms were clean and modern with a very nice design and included all of the amenities needed for a short stay while driving through iceland. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, plenty of options including those with dietary requirements.
The most expensive hotel we stayed on our Iceland trip. However it was the best as far as Hotels were concerned. Quite expensive though. Very comfortable family room for 4. Breakfast was good though vegetarian options are limited everywhere in Iceland. But we enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend.
I would return to Iceland just to stay at this Lodge again. the warmest welcome on arrival, fantastic location on seafront 5 mins from Vik, so cosy and homely. Breakfast was delightful. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Amazing value for money, will be recommending to everyone.
You can feel when someone take care of the place. Everything was spotless and the house is really beautiful. Price is excellent for Iceland, and you have everything you need, to cook or whatever. Totally recommended, if I ever go back to Vik i cannot imaging better place than this.
This is a lovely hotel, with a great staff. The bartender was the best-he introduced us to different Icelandic gins and made great drinks. We also enjoyed the food at the restaurant. Everything here was top-notch, and I highly recommend it.
One of the best host in Iceland. If you traveling to Vik a Must have as a Gesthouse.
We did get a lot of recommadtions and tips for our travel. The Host was super friendly and we Could easyly Talk over everything. 10/10
Our favorite hotel in Iceland! Beautifully decorated with big windows facing north, so we were able to see northern lights even from inside our room. Big table and shower; great breakfast
