This was a good location. Across the street was a gas station and a restaurant, a few minutes, drive from the community pool. The host was very friendly and helpful. You share a common area with tables in the kitchen. Room had a private bathroom. Bed was very comfortable and we had our best night sleep here.

Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Great location close enough to Blóndous, but far enough away to be cozy and private. Lovely atmosphere and great owners. Very easy to talk with and extremely accommodating hosts.
Was a great stay!

Amazing sea views. Great breakfast.
Amazing sea views. Great breakfast. Ate dinner at another establishment in town that was very good. If we stayed longer we would have eaten dinner at the hotel. The room was gorgeous. Loved the roof window. It even had a bluetooth speaker that sounded great. We could have stayed much longer if we had the time. Blonduos is a quiet and beautiful little town with much history.

Nice little bridgehead town with various services.
Nice little bridgehead town with various services. A good base to travel from. Various choices of good day trips, e.g. around Skagi and Vatnsnes peninsulas, Skagafjörður district and the scenic valley of Vatnsdalur. Blönduós is also a good staring point for a highland drive across Kjölur to Reykjavík.

The food was FABULOUS.
The food was FABULOUS. Accommodations, though shared baths, were excellent. Not much from the outside, but inside very new, contemporary.
Hostess is accommodating.
For us, it was a one-night stop between destinations.
The woman who runs the hotel is absolutely lovely--very welcoming and friendly, and even arranged for a special off-menu veg evening meal for us. The food was lovely (and, for the carnivores, the meat and fish options looked and smelled excellent too), and good value for money. The room was warm and comfortable, and there was plenty of free parking available. It's a great location as well--outside of town, but not too far, and in the middle of beautiful countryside.
First self-catering stop on a trip round the E1, and set a standard that was hard to beat. The apartment was very spacious (the largest we stayed in), well appointed and had marvellous views over Blönduós and surrounding areas (the best views we had at our various stopping points). Cooking facilities were good. A really good start to our journey, which set standards later stops rarely met.
It is new renovated and absolutely stunning! It's the oldest house in Blönduós with amazing history. Our host was phenomenal! Breakfast was the traditional Icelandic breakfast but with a flare! Our host had even spotted 2 whales that we could see from our balcony, so we were able to whale watch. You can see and hear the ocean right at your balcony. We absolutely loved it all.
The guesthouse Kiljan was wonderful. The owner made us feel at home. We had a very big spacious room with access to a bathroom just across the hall. Dinner and breakfast were delicious with every good food you would want! We recommend the guesthouse Kiljan if you plan to stsy in Blonduos!
Reviews for the guesthouse weren't very good so we were a little hesitant to stay there. But the reviews were so very wrong. It's not a 5-star hotel, but it was so much better. Comfortable with a wonderful mother and daughter who made our stay one of our favorite stays in all Iceland.
The ocean views were amazing and seeing the whales so close in to shore from property was a special experience. The rooms were large and very comfortable. It was fun interacting with other travelers- the hotel is like being part of their family.
A really simple and quiet hotel with great accomodations (swimming pool, jacuzzi, playground, piano...). I saw just one guy of the staff and he was lovely and attentive to the guest's needs and desires.
An excellent experience!
Interesting concept taking a former dormitory school and turning it into a hotel. It is very clean and the employees are great. Expect a dormitory style stay. It was a good value for Iceland so we would stay here again.
The hotel room was well furnished with lovely bedding, the bathroom was clean and modern. the public gathering place for dinner and breakfast was decorated beautifully and had a gorgeous sea view.
The hotel is newly remodeled and everything is beautiful and high-end. Excellent food, cheery staff, cozy and clean. It was a true respite and our favorite Ring Road stop. Highly recommend.
The hotel is a bit outdated but compensates with a good breakfast, friendly stuff, hot tubs and the beautiful surrounding area. Unfortunately no flat irons are available.
A renovated hotel full of charm and good taste. Great breakfast backed by a nice music selection: the first time I heard Sigur Rós in their Iceland home besides my car!
Big rooms, huge shower. The hotel has nice facilities, including a big screen TV at the lobby.
Staff was kind and helpful with our questions. A great place to stay.
