A nice and relaxing traditional semi-desert town with the friendliest people (and cows) you can meet. You can just wander around and enjoy. Nobody would harass you, just friendly people greeting you, young and old, and friendly cows, of course.
You can visit the town's attractions or simply sit and enjoy observing the vibrant local life.

The Jaisalmer fort is located on top of a rock.
The Jaisalmer fort is located on top of a rock. Inside the fort there is old town. There are private houses inside the fort. Walking around the small small lanes is very interesting. But be very careful about the local people. They will try to cheat you somehow or the other. Even if you take a guide, the guide will make you pay double the money because they get commission whatever you spend during your visit.
I have seen people sitting next to me in a terrace, paying INR 500 for two coffees and I paid the same coffees INR 140. Because their guide told the waiter to take INR 500 from them. It was so sad… people of Rajastan specially guides and drivers and shop owners are looting foreigners.

Jaisalmer was definitely more touristy, then the other cities we had visited before. In a way, this made our short stay there more comfortable. People on the street were friendly and greeted us, without trying to sell us anything.

A very good combination of History, Culture, Gastronomic delights and contemporary sightseeing. I recommend the Jaisalmer Fort Or the Golden Fort (has historical artefacts), the War Museum, Gadisar Lake and the surroundings, Folklore Museum and Desert Cultural Centre (set up Shri Nand Kishore Sharma, 94 years old, in1983. The Desert Cultural Centre also hosts a puppet show (two showings a day) in the evening.

500 year old Haveli in the heart of the Jaisalmer fort. The same family has lived there all these years.
Haveli is incredibly beautiful, with frescoes, wood and stone carvings. Everything is clean, all the facilities are present. The shower is pretty good, being in a desert it's nice to take a few times a day.
Service is super friendly, it feels like staying with a family, rather than at a hotel. Shubham gave a tour of Jaisalmer and shared the history of that beautiful city.
I'll happily stay at Suraj again.
The hotel room were really nice and very typical. We asked for a taxi transfer from Jodhpur Airport to Jaisalmer and the owner picked us up. He was super friendly and very helpful to help us organise our 2 days and also our trip with the same company to the desert. This was also awesome experience, without any tourist incl camel ride and overnight under the staff. Lastly we had the opportunity to test the restaurant and it was also super nice
It is also very well located to walk around the city
Been in India for two months now. Went to Jaisalmer to ride camels only. I was not expecting the hospitality that this hotel has to offer.
Room was exceptional clean and the bed was so very comfortable.
I booked the over night camel safari at the hotel and it was one of the best experiences I have had in India.
Ba, the owner, will greet you with such hospitality you will feel warm and welcome. Being in the fort is also a great experience and the location is really easy to find.
The staff for me was best feature of my stay - extremely kind, accommodating & helpful. The property itself, while in a great location, was fairly nice enough but during my stay realised there are far more beautiful hotels in the area. The rooftop is very nice offering the quintessential views of beautiful Jaisalmer however the actual room & bathroom were pretty outdated. Honestly, in my opinion the hotel feels much more in the 3 star range rather than its purported 5-stars.
This is a beautiful hotel in a great location, central to everything, and within walking distance to the fort, markets, and Lake.
Our room was comfortable and beautifully decorated, the staff are helpful and willing to make your stay in Jaisalmer a great experience but the best thing was the delicious breakfast and Dinner served on the rooftop with views of the Golden fort and town.
Thank you Mr.Yasin for making our stay so great,
We highly recommend Hotel Royal Haveli!
Wow. This is such a great hotel, I am so glad we booked it! The staff here are the best I have met in a hotel during my month stay in India. The owner arranged a complementary pickup to and from the station. The rooms a very big and have good air conditioning. The swimming pool is great. Overall this is the best value for money hot in Jaisalmer. Also one of my favourite hotels in India. If I am in Jaisalmer again I will book Hotel Golden City
Desert Dream Royal Camp Sam Dunes Jaisalmer has the best 4/5 star Catagory Property
One should definitely once have a dream of staying a lovely night in Desert in a beautiful & cozy Tent based rooms with exact 4/5 star like luxurious amenities though Desert dream royal camp is a very newly operational property with having Swiming pool a beautiful decor furnished with lovely design of dining hall and very big Dance floor with beautiful.
Rooms are neat and clean even the interior looks new. Hotel is very well decorated as well as the location is central. The owner is humble and generous. The staff is attentive and respectful. Our girls trip to Jaisalmer felt safe and became memorable because of the hotel. Their packages for desert camps are considerably fair with excellent service. Their behaviour made us feel they are our family relatives and not strangers.
Prince is by far the most humble host I met in my life. He offered me often some Chai without extra charge and also offered me many times food in the evening.
The price is really good, I was shocked how cheap it was. Of course you don't get a room on a 5 Star hotel level. Nevertheless, the price is still really really low for this amazing service you get.
If you ever plan to visit Jaisalmer, go to Little Prince!
Very warm, clean and cozy room. Its Terrace restaurant with the fort view was very very nice and served us some delicious meals. The fridge had some complementary beverages which was so thoughtful of,since even the 3 star hotel at Udaipur did not bother to provide. And the most happiest moment for me was the hair dryer in the bathroom.
Very good hotel, situated in a 200 year old Jaisalmer Palace. Very spacious rooms. Staff is really friendly and makes every effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Great rooftop dining with a la carte en buffet options; with Jaisalmer Fort views. Nice and well maintained pool. Perfect location.
Best cosy hotel in jaisalmer easy to hangout with other traveler owner Hasim he's Best man he pickup is from train at midnight and room is very comfortable it's very fresh new hotel easy to walk in fort and lake best unfortunately experience of Nomads Camel Safari Best price highly recommend everyone
Excellent service.. Fantastic location..
Room was clean and neat . Staff was kind and helpful. They arrange pickup and drop us from station.. Best thing was their desert program was great.. We enjoyed family camping safari of camel and jeep.. we recommend to stay here..
Best hotel in Jaisalmer
People are such a gold! Hotel is new and rooms are fresh and decorated with love! It’s true that Jaisalmer is the most hospitable place in India! And this hotel is the center of it! Enjoyed staying here and would love to come again! Thanks for everything!❤️
It's clean and works for a decent one night stay. Nothing beyond that. Its more like a business hotel and didn't have any Jaisalmer feel to it. Very plain and nothing interesting.
