Nyiregyhaza is a very nice 100K citizens Hungarian city.
Nyiregyhaza is a very nice 100K citizens Hungarian city. It's very clean, you can see that it's been taken good care of. Nice parks, sculptures, a mixture of cultures, great places to hang out or to go out for a portion of great food and drinks. It's also a university city and has a great zoo on the outskirts of the city. I'd say that it's also climatically and geographically situated perfectly well - just 2+hrs from Budapest (by highway), the nearest airport is in Debrecen which is some 80 km from Nyiregyhaza, neighbouring Ukraine and Slovakia (literally an hour's drive to each of the above mentioned), Tisa river is near, lots of water and forests. In general, it seemed to me that people of Nyiregyhaza are very happy with the place where they live in.ColedzzoCroatia - 10Scored 10
An amazing place to visit with family and friends, people...
An amazing place to visit with family and friends, people are kind, attractions are great. Huge outdoor park spa with indoor kiddie pools and other specialty ones. Animal park is huge, has elephants, giraffes, a restaurant, petting zoo and an oceanarium. Lots of fountains all over town, lots of ice cream and the streets are clean in general.

The city center is not very interesting. It's classic small Eastern Europe city and 3 hours is enough to see it all. Nyiregyhaza has great thermal spa, thermal lake and zoo, which I think are it's main attractions.Julia IssajevaUkraine - 8.0Scored 8.0

A clean city with some excellent attractions on the out skirts. Highlights included the aqua parks (Decent size, clean with plenty to do), the zoo (Lots of animals, well kept and a good day out), the tree climbing adventure park and the restaurants. The prices are good value for money and the portion sizes for food are very generous. The City was quiet given the amount of shops, and getting around wasn't a problem. As first-time visitors, with an eight-year old child, we were pleasantly surprised how safe, calm and clean town it is. Found people to be very kind, smiling and looking one straight in the eye with a sense of small-town curiosity, but not at all offensively - it showed honesty. We all loved the spacious squares, the abundance of fountains, ample seating, old shade trees. They sell some great artisan ice creams, even in gluten-free cones. Loved shopping for specialty foods. Check out the crystal shop downtown! Have a cup of coffee at Szifon Espresso Bar.

Free parking is available on site but we needed to ask first if there was parking available. Otherwise it wouldn’t have been mentioned by the desk clerk. The rooms were very large and furnished with Old World hand carved furniture pieces. As well, there is a TESCO conveniently across the street. The manager (blonde lady) was helpful and conducted all interactions pleasantly and professionally. It was because of her that a lesser rating was NOT given.

The room was well equipped. Tea kit, Smart TV, hairdryer and some basic cosmetic kits (shaving kits, cosmetic kits, etc.). The bed was really confy! We could not hear any street as well. We took breakfast options and we could not complain. Everything was fresh and tasty. You can also park your car in closed hotel parking, that is controlled by the reception staff. Plenty of room to park your car!
