Great little village, with nice views.
Great little village, with nice views. Very, very crowded during high season and during the week-ends. Be careful where you eat (not all places are the same - wink wink). For a good meal try Old Remezzo (it's a couple euros more, but ages apart from the BS tavernas from the main street). Do not plan to stay more than 3 days in the village, as this is a small village and you will get bored fast. However, this is good location to explore Kassandra, so is you are staying more than 3 days, plan some trips around this location.

If I go to Kassandra peninsula again, I will definitely stay in Afytos. It's a fabulous city. There are many quality cafes and restaurants. There are beautiful streets where you can go out after dinner. It was very beautiful in the region without rocks in the sea.

It's deceiving when you first arrive until you start talking to locals and tell you where to go. kalithea is only about 10 mins away by car which has alot of shops and places to eat and drink. Check your email before you check in as its at afitos hotel not the studio which if you don't know you have to walk there and if you have luggage it's a bit of a struggle up hill. She showed us the way to the closest beach 150 metres from the appartment that has an area next to hotel sunbeds where you can stay with your own umbrella. The matress in the double bed was very good, we slept perfectly.

Apartments which are not in the basement are really nice. The owner is helpful and you can buy olive oil from him. Afitos by night is one of the best sight I have seen in Greece.
