The room was big and comfortable. We enjoyed the staying very much.
There are three pools (one indoor) and the private beach across the road, so you can always find a space to sit and enjoy.
The food was very good in the breakfast and the chef created, with a smile, special dishes for my vegan wife everyday.

Rethymno has the right mix of old town charm, modern hotels, a beach and a nice promenade. Plenty of places that serve authentic Greek food at very affordable prices, nice shopping opportunities, a pretty good beach - overall, I think Rethymno is better than Heraklion or Chania for a vacation stay.

As with everywhere in Greece, food was phenomenal.
As with everywhere in Greece, food was phenomenal. I even enjoyed the humorous "hard sell" barker at a dockside Taverna. "Are you hungry? You look hungry! Your hunger is subconscious!" and so forth. As an overweight psychiatrist in the States, both my wife and I were rolling in laughter. "If he is hungry now, what will he look like when he is full?"

We have stayed here before but last time further out of town in a villa. This trip we stayed in town within walking distance of everything. There are so many different restaurants we could have stayed for six months to sample them all. Would recommend finding the little tavernas up the little side streets for the most interesting dishes. House wine is great value and nearly always decent. If you want to splash out a bit a private boat rental to take you up the coast is well worth it and can be found in the old harbour from a number of vendors. If you like a beach there is a fantastic one that stretches from the East end of town. And if you don't like the sand there are some steps to access the rocky area of the sea to the west of the castle.

Lovely and quaint old town, with plenty of shops. cafes and restaurants. Its extremely clean and well maintained. We loved just wandering the streets and each time you notice something different. We ate in the old town 3 times and each meal was fabulous.
The hotel was in a great location to access the old town, the beaches to the east of the town and the main bus station (if you want to travel further afield).
The decor was modern and had that boutique hotel feel, without having to pay a premium price. A buffet breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant and offers an excellent range of hot and cold food and beverages. The neighborhood around the hotel has some nice cafes and bars and it's only a short walk into the old town which has a good mix of shopping and eating places.
Excellence in location, in service from the staff, in friendly, in cleanness , in facilities in the hotel and the beach, in great location; just two steps from the beach, two steps from a supermarket and two steps from a walkable coastline full of restaurants, bars and fashion stores, you can get to old town by walk if you want, it is about 30 min, we went by car and we loved the private parking, please avoid public parking hotels, it is a nightmare to find an spot in Rethimmo. Breakfast was delicious! 👌🏻
Sunset Apartments are a great choice if you want a base in Rethymno for spending time on the beach there as well as exploring the island of Crete. We got an excellent price for the basement apartment which was very cool, even in the soaring Greek heat! The beach is meters away, there's a limited amount of free parking (you can find more free parking places in the area too if needed) and there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants around. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable.
Our stay in Rethymno was really great. The birais hotel is located very close to the city center and right on the beach. The beach belongs to the restaurant of the hotel. You just need to order something on the beach and you can use the sun loungers by the beach. The rooms have a beautiful sea view and a great balcony. The only thing missing from the hotel was a small swimming pool. I highly recommend it to everyone!
Best hotel we have had in Crete! Super friendly staff, spacious, clean room with a nice balcony. The beach is just on the other side. We had a lovely view on the sea (it was not even mentioned in the description!). We got a free bottle of wine, there were wine glasses in the room.
There is also a very nice swimming pool and the deckchairs and umbrella on the beach are for free (you just need to buy a coffee).
Location is amazing. Right in the center of old town but at the same time very quiet and peaceful. I've seen that some people complain of the church bells but for us that was part of the magic of this place. Their yard is a true gem. Breakfast was excellent. Our bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Everything was clean. Staff is very kind. I would highly recommend this little boutique hotel.
The location was great, close to everything, easy to find, just on the beach. The breakfast was awful though, we tried once and never went again. It would be good if the hotel could provide shuttle services to airports in Heraklion or Chania. There was no socket in the kitchenette so we had to drag the kettle and coffee maker to another-inconvenient location to use them
Mr Stelios ensures guests are welcomed and comfortable. There are lots of areas to relax including poolside with excellent views of the Med. Across from hotel is a small beach and swimming spot. It’s an easy 15 min walk along the sea wall to the old town.
Reception recommended and booked us a table at Galera restaurant (turn left from hotel, approx 12 min walk).
Very good location, modern rooms, warm and helpful staff. We got a free upgrade to a room with sea-view, which made our stay even better. Room price included sunbeds at the beach right opposite the hotel. Old town only a short, pleasant walk away. Our most practical stay in Crete, having its own parking and with the beach right across the street.
Very nice property in the heart pf old town. Restaurants, bars and shopping is all out the front door😃 The host is a wonderful friendly gentleman. Complimentary and raki made by his family was in the room along with a large slice of his mothers home made cake that was absolutely delicious.🥮
The bus station is a 12 min walk from the hotel.
This hotel was delightful in every way. The facility is updated and spotless. The rooms and beds are very comfortable. The shower devine. The assortment and quality of the breakfast was well beyond what I expected for a modestly priced accommodation. The view and location to old town was perfect.
location of the hotel on the first line., 30 minutes walk from the old town. there are a lot of delicious taverns and super markets around. the staff is polite, at a high level, always trying to help. cleaning of the rooms at the highest level, special thanks to Natalia, for the excellent work.
Perfect stay, in the middle of the old town. The hotel is very peaceful, the hosts amazing! We had their help and advice, whatever we asked for, plus some really good recommendations for restaurants and beaches. We will definitely come back, to have more time for a cocktail on the rooftop garden!
This hotel is located in the old town. It is very nicely set up. The remainings of the bulding were kept but restored in a modern/ new way. The hotel has a small patio which was very lovely. The staff is very nice and helpfull, the rooms are clean and it offers everything you need.
staff excellent. good location on the beach - 20 minute walk from old town. lovely rooms - spacious and light and clean. liked the addition of a smart TV. pool area great and superb breakfast. staff always went the extra mile which was appreciated by ourselves and all other guests
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the possibility of eating breakfast outside on the terrace almost on the beach. Because it´s a very small family hotel there is no queue for breakfast or reservations of sunbeds. Good quiet location with a lovely seaview.
The location is great - it is on the beach and close by to tons of great restaurants, supermarkets and tourtist shops. It is however a few KM away from the old town so you will need to walk/taxi/motorbike to that more central location.
The best part is the breakfast which is cooked to order from the menu. Staff are helpful and very friendly.
Close to beach, but it is just like all the hotels along the road. A bit far from old town.
