It is a great pub, with good food and drinks, and the room was fairly large, comfortable and clean. The room overlooked the village and countryside – though it was on the road, it was quiet as there was so little traffic. The shower was good,...

Everything. One of the best UK stays we've ever had. Landlord Jim went beyond his duties as taxi driver as well! Absolutely spotless room and fantastic breakfast.

There is a vast cross-section of wildlife here, deer, pheasants, partridges, badgers as well too many rabbits! We’re especially lucky to be haven for Red Kites. The building’s history is intertwined with that of the landscape, it’s built from classic Sussex flint and many of the Oak features inside are from trees felled in the local area 300 hundred years ago. Even the wood that fuels are fires is from the Goodwood estate supplied by a neighbour! The interiors are as bright and welcoming as the staff, with plenty of exposed brickwork, wooden floors and tables and a range of seating. There’s also outdoor seating for the warmer months, complete with spectacular vie...
