I never imagined a major town in South Wales could be so run down. I checked out of the accomodation a day early and found myself in the High Street around 0830. I had an hour or so here before my train out of town and I saw nothing of interest to a visitor.

First time in Wales for me.
First time in Wales for me. Everywhere we went met with friendly people. Even the girl in Next chatted while serving me and laughed with me about my day.Family meal (14 of us) at TGF. Made welcome and served with a smile all evening.
Coffee shops also had staff interested in our stories.
Pity we live in Perth with 8 hour drive as liked people and places and a return trip maybe when newlyweds have family

The room was good, the pool was out of commission which spoiled the weekend because that made the jacuzzi impossible to gain entrance to due to the amount of people being let down on the pool. Food was perfect.

There is a lot to like about Newport and the surrounding countryside. My favourite feature is without doubt the famous 'Transporter Bridge'. You have the choice of numerous venues for both Rugby and Football matches and a great selection of local Parkruns.

There are many places to eat in Newport, there is also lots of shops and local bars with live music. It is close to Newport football stadium. It also has a little castle near the train station.
The new Newport market is a great addition to Newport, it had lots of small shops and a variety of different restaurants which you can order on the app and get it served to your table.
This is a great family run hotel. Rooms are clean, with TV and tea and coffee making facilities. On arrival the young lady on reception was welcoming, cheerful and chatty. The staff are excellent and made us feel so welcome. After our day out we spent the evening in the hotel bar with the owner and met some of his family which was lovely and we felt we were welcomed with open arms. I will definitely be returning to this hotel the next time I am in Newport. Thank you all :-)
We have never had a problem with the hotel's breakfast, assuming all normal health and safety precautions were in place. On one of our last mornings at the hotel we saw another guest inadvertently drop a fried tomato onto the floor below the breakfast bar, scoop it up and leave it for clean-up the side of the buffet, away from hot food... then just a moment later watched one of the male breakfast staff return it with tongs to the full tray of hot tomatoes in the buffet. Why?
Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. This hotel has a great onsite restaurant, delicious food . It also has a good choice of bar food as well as a great selection of hot and cold food for breakfast.
Nice facilities, and the added extra is you also get to use the facilities in the Celtic Manor
Nice outside space next to the bar area.
Lovely shower and wardrobe space. Room was big with plenty of storage..
The hotel was positioned well for good road links to get around .
Very clean and a lovely sized room. Bathroom was excellent, bath and shower superb. The hotel itself is very nice, attached to the main hotel. Pretty surroundings and well organised. Didn't eat there, but a few choices available and a tad pricey, looked good.
It was a last minute treat for myself so splashed out a bit rather than my usual level of accommodation.. (cheap and cheerful!)
The manor house is grand.
Cleaning staff very friendly and helpful.
This hotel is in a good location, 5-10 minute walk from the town centre. We had to stand outside and call a number for someone to come check us in (luckily it wasn't raining) then our actual room was 4 doors down the road. The room was a good size, clean and quiet. There was an iron, ironing board and hairdryer which were useful little extras. The shower is amazing, really powerful!
It was a very pleasant stay. Everything was up to the mark.
Very well maintained, clean and tidy. All the necessary things were available to use. The location was perfect, it was 10-12 mins walk to the Newport train station and just 3 mins walk to the near by grocery Market. Early check in request was not entertained but Overall it was a great experience.
Me and my Daughter travelled from Liverpool for the Coldplay concert on 7th June and are stay was excellent. The over all location of the hotel was perfect, 2 min walk from an NCP carpark, which was really cheaper for 24 hrs, and a 4 min walk to the train station.
There is also plenty of bars and restaurants within a 2 min walk from the hotel.
It’s located between Newport & Cardiff and approximately 5 minutes from my sons house so is a perfect spot for us. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the added bonus of a fantastic breakfast at an amazing price it’s always well worth a visit!
Loved everything about our stay at the Priory Hotel, the staff were very helpful, and welcoming, our room was beautiful, and very clean also the food was exceptional. We would both like to return, and would definitely recommend the Priory Hotel to anyone that was thinking of booking.
Good location and good value for money, the hotel is clean and provides an excellent breakfast. Located behind the bus terminal and over the road from the coach terminal and a short distance from the railway. Shopping and theatre nearby with a good view of Newport from the window.

Room was perfect for me as a solo traveler seeing friends and family post covid and just needing a place to rest for the night.
Plenty of options for places to eat as it dead center of Newport near the train station
Really lovely hotel and amazing value for money. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. Location is brilliant.. Just a short drive to Newport. Highly recommend.
The hotel itself was great- room was basic but clean and comfortable. Lady on reception was very helpful by partnering us with someone to share taxi with to Newport Station and sorted out our transport.
Great location, peaceful setting, helpful staff, good internet, clean rooms. As with most UK hotels, there is no ice maker for guest use, but the bar staff will provide ice in pint glasses.
Class hotel all round , stayed here when it was just the old Manor and a few times since.
I'm from Manchester and this hotel is an absolute credit to Wales
