Our stay was wonderful! The food was delicious, and the location was perfect. There is no parking right at the pub but we were pointed to a nearby free parking. Highly recommended!

We stayed one night for my stepdad's birthday, booked two rooms.
Really well located just off the main high street in Bedale. There's a long stay car park across the road that is free of charge. A friendly welcome from the landlords and their two beautiful (one more excitable than the other) staffies who live in the bar (if you're not a dog person this place is not for you). Well stocked bar and a lovely little beer garden out back. I was particularly taken with the decorations in one of the ladies loos :)
Lovely bright rooms, really clean and welcoming. Our bathroom was massive too.
Breakfast the next morning was plentiful - fruit, cereal and yoghurt available on the bar with juices and hot drinks, with a full English cooked to order, and it's huge so you best be hungry!
All in all a lovely stay and would totally recommend.

A nice village for essentials but no family type pubs for eating. most pubs etc closed for food at 7-00pm which is no good after a day out further afield or after swimming at tea time. the leisure centre was lovely, clean and reasonably priced.

Pretty market town. Some nice independent stores.
Pretty market town. Some nice independent stores. Close to Yorks Dales to the West and Yorks Moors just on the East. Great location for access to many areas of interest and only a few mins from the A1.
Recommend The Wensleydale Heifer at West Witton - 25 mins away. Great place for a couple to eat if you appreciate nice food and service - but quite £££ so be prepared. You do get what you pay for.
Absolutely fantastic stay.the room's were very large and welcomingly comfortable. Way more then other hotels I've stayed in in this price range.the breakfasts were very good!quality local produce.and Teddy the owner and his team were always only too happy to obtain anything requested.the evening meals were also extremely good quality and a fairly extensive menus to choose from.overerall my grandson and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will certainly be going back again in September time.
The garden rooms have old fashioned style & charm with all modern furnishings and facilities. Hosts were attentive and played particular attention to detail when it came to my partners Dietary requirements, he felt very special.
It was in a perfect location for both excursion on the dales, North Yorkshire moors and coast. We loved everything about our stay and will be back sometime very soon.
What a lovely house. Perfectly presented, very welcoming, warm & comfortable. A short, easy walk into Bedale main street. The extras provided by the owner were much appreciated, from tea, coffee, sugar, and biscuits to washing up liquid and kitchen roll. It really was a home from home. Highly recommended.

We were visiting Catterick Garrison for a pass-out parade and found Bedale an ideal location and the Green Dragon turned out to be every thing we needed. We ate in the hotel on the evening and found a good selection of pub meals. The breakfast was super, freshly cooked to order.
Great little village, very picturesque. Only one pub and no shops. Masham & Bedale only a few miles away.
Accommodation is excellent, food is really good as is the breakfast. Owner, Adrian very friendly. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Great value for money.
we stayed in this property as we were visiting the polar express experience. this hotel was initially picked for location but when we arrived we realised we had came across a wee gem . location was perfect , staff were very friendly and totally went out their way
Excellent quiet place, with just a short drive or walk to centre of Bedale. Host was friendly and welcoming. Overall a great place to stay in North Yorkshire if you want a quiet holiday with good access to the Dales and North York Moors national parks.
Excellent location, not too far from the A1 and within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales. Love the childrens' play area, including the football nets. Peaceful location but within easy reach of Bedale and a number of country pubs.
A wonderful warm welcome from Mandy at this lovely property, excellently located next to the A1, but with easy access to the Yorkshire Dales. Fabulous cooked breakfast and superb pub next door, with interesting and extensive menu
Comfy hotel, friendly staff, lovely breakfasts. As we were travelling by train and having to depend on them running, being able to cancel up until 6pm on day of arrival, made us choose this hotel.
The breakfast was substantial and good quality. The service was always fast and friendly. The Bedale area and other villages are lovely. The local people are also very friendly.
