The location was amazing! Derrick was a wonderful host. And his granddaughter welcomed us with the most amazing and beautiful cupcakes on arrival. Derrick gave all the best recommendations on what to see, where to eat, and history of the hotel itself.

The hosts were wonderful people, the property was very tastefully down with every room portraying its own unique story. The check-in process was seamless and the location was bang in the middle of the city. Strongly recommend spending some time at their Paris library which will make you travel back time!

We love Weymouth our travel time is about 90min away but we love to stay there when we can as there is so much to do. The beach is always clean and the dogs are allowed on a specific partof the beach in the summer. Good places to eat and fabulous old pubs to find out of town. The boot is a special little gem. The nightlife is good as there is always live music in the pubs. The harbour is a magical place to sit with a coffee or a beer and watch the bridge going up to let the boats go under. Also good shopping centre, a little run down in places but on the whole plenty of good cafes.

I have visited Weymouth ever since i was a child so it holds a special place in my heart. Its really dissapointing to see how many shops etc that are now closed though making the town centre look pretty poor.
We visited the Preston side of Weymouth as well though and this has got a lot better over the years. The arcades are fantastic, the scenery is superb and the prices at the cafes etc arent too steep either.

Very disappointed with present day Weymouth.
Very disappointed with present day Weymouth. Have visited Weymouth regularly over a period of 70 years, except for the beach, the town centre is very run down. Many shops, bars, restaurants and other facilities shut down. The streets were filthy and strewn with rubbish. In desperate need of a makeover and some loving care.
Will not return in near future.

Your typical seaside resort at the beachfront- loads to to, amusements, land train, donkey rode, good restaurants! Beach is flat, shallow and shady- perfect for kiddies!!
Harbour area is more cosmopolitan and beautiful, upper market cafes and pubs… really stunning views.
The town itself is a bit rough, with closed down shops etc. But all the shops you’d need! A lot of tourtisty shops to keep you browsing happily!

We enjoyed a walk around Weymouth and the surrounding areas.
We enjoyed a walk around Weymouth and the surrounding areas.
We did the "White Horse" walk from Sutton Poyntz, just outside Weymouth and went on to see the stunning coastline at Durdle Door.
The Isle of Portland was also worth a visit. It was March and too blustery and wet to do a decent walk but the vies at Portland Bill and of Chessil Beach was well worth a visit.
30 minutes from Weymouth, we visited West Bay with another nice coastline and a very interesting Custom House in the village which had a wealth of memorabilia for sale.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Harlequin Guest House. The hotel's prime location near the beach and high street made it the perfect starting point for our exploration of Dorset. Mike, the owner, was incredibly polite and took the time to highlight the nearby attractions worth visiting. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, especially considering its remarkably affordable price, ideal location, and the attentive and friendly staff. Our stay here exceeded all expectations.
The Dolphin Hotel Public House was a wonderful find! A few lovely rooms above a nice pub just steps from Weymouth train station, the centre of the town, and seafront. Wow to all three things you need! From the moment we arrived Linda and Alan were welcoming, friendly, kind, and helpful. The rooms were fresh and very clean (every morning too!). And the wifi was exceptional! We loved this place, and when we come back to Weymouth again, the Dolphin will be our first choice!
Free parking at the hotel. On a quiet street but not far from the centre. Easy check in, clean and comfortable room if a little basic. Travelling with 3 children so they were happy once TV was figured out.
Nice pool suitable for families as the deep part is only 1.2 m deep and there is a good sized shallow area as well.
Didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment on food.
Not that cheap but it is Weymouth in July and you can’t go abroad so happy with the price.
Very friendly staff here, room was very comfortable with modern fittings, nice bathroom, good hot water shower, lots of tea & coffee plus snacks, a great TV that even had netflix. I would definitely stay again. Sadly parking can be a bit of a chore (no fault of hotel) but the hotel has a deal with a local carpark for 6 pound per night so not too bad, but may need to get this info in advance rather than after you arrive.
Maria is a wonderful host who keeps a spotless guesthouse and ensures breakfast is to your liking and is willing to give advice on what to do in and around Weymouth.
With parking at a premium in the area Maria ensures that with a little help from her guests everyone’s cars can be accommodated on site.
Situated at the west end of the promenade there are enjoyable strolls up to the town or along the beach to Bowleaze.
Super welcoming team and lovely accommodation. Look after us really well. Views over the seafront. Gave us a Permit F for the car so we could park outside on the seafront.
We arrived early, and our room was ready, and we were allowed them.
We were staying due to the Weymouth half marathon, and the race was on the Sunday check out at 10 am. The hotel very kindly allowed us back to shower after the race.
SuperStars.
We loved the location and how close it was to all the main attractions in Weymouth. The room was amazing and the whole hotel was decorated to a very high standard, with nice finishing touches. Derek was a lovely host and really made the effort to make you feel welcome throughout our stay. The breakfast was really nice and we couldn't have asked for a better trip.
The location of the Riviera is second to none...but most of the reviews were bad...so we booked it to see what it was like..and it wasn't that bad..
The hotel needs a lot of work doing to it... but the room were clean and tidy but there was a slight odour...the breakfast was ok.
We would book this hotel again..
Room was quite small and old fashioned. Breakfast very good, cooked fresh and served by very pleasant staff. Location on seafront was perfect.
Too much emphasis on ‘keeping us all safe’ .... pretty sick of all this nonsense now.
Hotel was pretty basic but considering the price paid did not meet expectations.
Very friendly host. Lovely clean room with kettle and drinks. Excellent self service breakfast with fresh fruit, yoghurt, every kind of cereal, toast, jam, honey, marmalade.
The location was excellent on a very quiet street but a 15 minute walk into Weymouth.
The Staff are always, outstanding by looking after the hotel guest. I stayed in room 110 which is looking over the Weymouth, with French doors. tea and coffee with some biscuits. the room had a bath and shower above the bath. the bed and room was clean.
The host has fashioned a very quaint boutique hotel from a lovely historic building right in the heart of the Weymouth beach neighborhood. Top notch personal service plus an excellent breakfast made this our favorite stay in the UK.
The hotel is in an excellent location with parking which is a huge bonus for a seafront hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Great restaurant on site with entertainment so family friendly too.
The owners were wonderful, and the hotel was beautiful. Everything was clean and perfect, and the breakfast was wonderful.
Rooms were spacious, and the location was ideal for everything in Weymouth.
100% recommend a stay here
Because The property was so central to everything it was near the restaurant and the bus stop And it was on the level there is no problem with parking if you get a parking pass if going to Weymouth again we would stay there
We love this hotel in weymouth been before but has had a stunning refit rooms better, exelent location near to the harbour, food is exelent and the bar is great and we love the guest lounge for some peace
Kez and Rodney are just the best hosts and Penn House is a remarkable hotel on the Weymouth Seafront. the view from our room left us speechless.
We had the best time and we’ll be back.
