We’ve stayed twice before and love this inn. Fabulous views and walks on the doorstep, cosy log fire in the bar (our preferred dining spot) and a delicious belly pork roast followed by home made crumble. Staff are friendly and our waiter recommended local Ladybower Reservoir walk which we did next day *****. . Room was spotless and comfortable .Hope to return soon.

Breakfast was great - lots of hot good food - eggs, fry bread, toast, sausage, bacon, beans, mushrooms, coffee, juice, yogurt. Great location in town with great steak and ale pie.

+ Staff are very friendly (Breakfast staff are actually amazing)
+ Comfy bed
+ Music from downstairs goes off exactly at 10:45 which is brilliant

Big room, big bathroom.. well cleaned every day I was there
Nice village. Lovely walks around it so it’s a good base.
Nice village. Lovely walks around it so it’s a good base. Chip shop. Maazi for curry - nice. The plough inn or Little Johns for drinks. The plough inn for good food. Not much in the way of shops. Nisa local or a One Stop, if you want food for walking.
We did the Hathersage, Stoke ford, Eyam Moor, Grindlow, Hucklow edge walk via Leadmill (from the plough inn front door)

We only stayed for one day and night.
We only stayed for one day and night. The highlight for us was dining with family and friends at The Scotsman's Pack. Relaxing in the quirky dining room at The Millstone Inn before staying the night was a great experience. Hathersage is a lovely place to wander around and a perfect base for walking adventures (not that we did that on this occasion).

It is a pleasant, sleepy little town. Not much to do or see here, but some nice walks and easy to access from Sheffield. I came here for a climbing trip (recommend) and walked around the countryside, which was nice.

A lovely place to stay in the northern area of the Peak District. The David Mellor design museum and factory are well worth a visit, there are lovely walks nearby (eg Ladybower reservoir, Win Hill etc).
Absolutely spotless. Loved the little touches such as the tea/coffee in jars and plenty of nice biscuits. The fridge in the kitchen has bottles of water and juice that we could help ourselves to. Lynne is a wonderful host, so kind and helpful.
Walking distance to the centre of Hathersage, perfect location.
The continental breakfast was delicious and plentiful. My son loved the table football!
The bed was so comfy and loved the shower.
Would highly recommend a stay here.
Thank you!
Morton Loft is a clean, well-equipped and comfortable apartment located in the middle of a village which has plenty of facilities within walking distance. The owner kept in contact and followed up after our stay.
Although positioned above the butcher's shop and on the junction of two roads it is quiet at night. Hathersage is a great base for exploring the Peak District with excellent walks from the village and has a train service to Sheffield and Manchester. Recommended.
We liked people working in the hotel the most. They were all interesting and lovely individuals, great chatting to Mark every day, what a wonderful man! And the owner was just fantastic! Breakfast was delicious and massive, served in a beautiful room, and our doggies got some munchies also! Rooms were really nice and spacious with a lovely views of the town, so overall we had a great stay!
Great hotel located in Hathersage. Staff were friendly and welcoming and were there to help if needed. Ate in the pub on two nights, although lively with regulars, food and choice of beers were very good, hence going back the second night.
Room was clean tidy and bigger than expected. Traditional breakfast was top notch a great start to a day in the Peak District.

Sladen Lodge is a wonderful property, and Lynne was a fantastic host. It’s located close to the center of Hathersage, and there’s a ton to do in the area. Lynne was very accommodating when I arrived early, and she has great restaurant recommendations. The room was clean and comfortable, and the lodge itself was tranquil and peaceful.
A lovely hotel situated a short walk from Hathersage and ideally located for visiting some of the Peak District's most popular attractions, as well as wonderful local walks straight from the door. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was fab!
Hotel management was extremely helpful and very hands on. Food was excellent and well priced. Sited on the edge of Dales with wonderful walks from the hotel. Popular at weekends but there was sufficient staff to cope. Dogs and muddy boots friendly.
Very nice selection of hot meals for breakfast. Extensive menu of wine and food choices in the restaurant for dinner. Lovely attentive staff who looked after us well even during a temporary cut in power supply one evening.
Breakfast was excellent, well cooked and well seasoned. The location was ideal to get to the walks we wanted to try and wasn't far away from Hathersage village. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Lovely location and host a short walk from Hathersage. We enjoyed Jo's over night oats for breakfast and benefitted from her local advice for restaurants and going above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
We chose this hotel due to it's proximity to the walks of the Peak District. Staff were very helpful and friendly and efficiently dealt with our issues regarding a request for a room change.
The breakfast was what one would expect from a hotel. In fact this is a country pub definitely "punching above its weight".
We would hope to visit again.
