Very clean, immaculately decorated, beds comfy, was about 25/30 min walk into Cheddar for pubs/shops which was doable and felt like a ‘safe’ walk home late at night.

My single room was clean, pleasant and comfortable. Bar food and breakfast were both very good. Staff were courteous, helpful and attentive.
Adjacent to The Langford Inn are bedrooms with attached bathroom housed in 2 converted 17th-century barns with exposed beams, original brickwork, oak floors and luxuries for modern living.
Cheddar Gorge is very impressive. We had rather bad weather so wwren't able to walk along the top, which I imagine would be lovely on a good day. Gough's cave is worth visiting - and you get to see the cheese stored there. Cox' s cave is more of a new age experience with lights and sounds etc. Actually I think that it would have been rather intersting ib it's natural state!

Very interesting area, lots to see and do but the attractions all seemed very expensive. The gorge is really impressive though, Plenty of cafes and restaurants, we had a few good pub meals and lovely ice cream. Staff at the Riverside Inn were very helpful with providing gluten free food. Spent a nice day at the Chew Valley lakes where there is a gluten free chip shop (a rarity!).
Lovely countryside, however, it was very busy. The noisy bikes and cars whizzing around at over the speed limit spoiled it a bit for us. It was quite dangerous walking along the gorge in some places.

Cheddar Gorge is a fantastic natural phenomenon.
Cheddar Gorge is a fantastic natural phenomenon. Exploring the caves is an absolute must and you are given a Wi-Fi device to use for an audio explanation as to how the caves were formed.
Jacobs Ladder isn’t for the faint hearted, 274 steps in all but once at the top a short climb up the viewing tower is a must, amazing view all round.
We walked along the path at the top of the gorge which just keeps giving more and more spectacular photo opportunities.
I would recommend you go earlier in the morning to ensure you get a parking place as during the later part of the morning everything seemed to be very busy .
Plenty of little cafes and quaint tea rooms to check out but beware of the prices !!

Location only Not "hotel" its a pub
Location only Not "hotel" its a pub
This place is a glorified pub.It was crowded in the bar on arrival with no quiet reception area. You just have to join the pub crowd at the bar. Good job I left my luggage in the car.
There is no comfy lounge or quiet space whatsoever. The room was big noisy with windows that did not close. The Bathroom is in need of TLC. It was draughty & cold.
The guy who received me was polite but the woman in the morning was positively rude to me. The girl serving breakfast looked like she was doing me a favour- she was hostile with no eye contact. Breakfast was disgusting with stale muffins Lathered in Hollandase; this was not stated on menu & is disgusting to me. The spinach beneath the eggs were sopping wet with water seeping into the muffins. Having driven from Falmouth this was a huge disappointment. It is not a Hotel just a pub with rooms so do not be misled by the lovely architecture of Bath stone!

Cheddar is a great town to visit, on the condition that travellers choose it with the right expectations in mind. That is, don't go for the cheese, and don't go for the caves!
An attraction worthy of a visit once upon a time, the caves have been converted into an overpriced tourist trap. An entrance fee of £23 per person is just ridiculous, and although this ticket theoretically also gives access to other "attractions", none of these other "attractions" are even remotely worth visiting. So DO NOT bother with the caves, it's not worth the money, and don't encourage this kind of of shameless cash grab.
Two of the "attractions" included in the £23 ticket are stairs and lookout tower, by the way, which can be climbed and visited for free if hiking around the Cheddar gorge in clockwise direction! The cheddar gorge hike is about 2.5 hours long, and weather permitting, the star attraction of Cheddar. It shouldn't be missed, but requires decent hiking shoes and physical fitness.
Secondly, the cheese. Cheddar is famous for its cheese, but in reality, it turns out only a single company still makes cheese in Cheddar. The factory is a 5 minute walk away from Cheddar Gorge and can be visited for £2.5, but a tour will only keep you occupied for about 15 minutes -- there really isn't that much to see or do. So a visit of the cheese factory is worthwhile and good value, but don't expect it to be a day trip.
In summary, if prepared to do the hike around Cheddar Gorge in reasonable weather conditions, and combined with a good dinner at La Rocca restaurant and a tour around the factory, it's a nice day out for a family. But if you're going to Cheddar expecting caves and cheese, you're probably going to be disappointed.
It was a little difficult to find the location. The directions given (above Cheddar cycles) was a bit difficult to spot, though opposite the 24H convenience store would've been easier directions. Once we found it, fantastic location! Appreciated the host's guidance on where to eat etc.
We faced a couple of challenges e.g. did not know how to lock the door by lifting it (don't have those types of doors where we live), but the hosts answered messages immediately to assist. Lovely decor and liked the sustainability touches!
The property has good car parking, and accomodation is quite. The property is located just 1 mile from Cheddar Gorge. We were welcomed by property owner (Mag) and took us to room. Room is quite spacious and maintained well. The bathroom is well maintained. The Rooms have a common kitchen and well equipped. I would recommend travellers to make the choices (based on availability) and stay here. They provide multiple types of Breakfast services too.
Stayed in one of the static caravans. Lovely location with parking right outside the door, patio doors onto decking overlooking the river. Very comfy bed, good size open plan lounge/diner area with nice big sofas and a decent TV. Quite well equipped, most of things we needed to cook were provided. A welcome pack with information about the area would have been nice though. No towels provided but gave us some when we asked.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the Bath Arms before Christmas. The hotel restaurant and pub area are so inviting: two fires going, lovely decorations and fine food and beverages. The community support for the restaurant is obvious, and the staff are helpful and conversational. Comfortable beds, nice toiletries and parking is easy, behind the hotel. Can't wait to come back.
Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean with views over the garden. Very good choice for breakfast. Would have preferred to help ourselves to juice and cereal rather than being served, but that's just a little niggle. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel is in a central location ideal for exploring Cheddar on foot. Would definitely stay there again.
We loved the scenic views from the front & rear of the property ( not so much the road noise though! ;)
Also the well laid out & very spacious living area & enjoyed making use of the sizeable decking area & the lawn space at the front, where we had a bbq near the very handy picnic tables :)
It is lovely area & very close to the beautiful Cheddar!
The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the centre of Cheddar and a short walk to the high street, and cheddar gorge. The room we had was the superior room and not only was huge, it had lots of lovely amenities, and a very comfortable bed. We also had a great view of the pool from one window, and the high street from another.
The Stables were a fabulous place to stay. Everything you could wish for and need...a real home from home. A great location too, being only 10 mins or so to Cheddar and 20 mins or so to Wells (both great days out). Hosts were lovely and we'd definitely recommend everyone to stay there.
Comfortable bed, warm cottage, beautifully furnished, well equipped, parking off road behind accommodation, hosts are on hand and available for any help needed.Quiet at night.Use of garden should you wish to,near pubs short stroll away and Cheddar village further on.Everything we needed.
Beautifully decorated to a very high standard. Very comfortable - had everything we wanted and more. Stunning views with a lovely outside seating area and also a big window in the lounge. Perfect location, easy drive to Cheddar, Wells, Street, and Glastonbury.
Friendly welcome, made to feel at home. Tailor made breakfast personally delivered to the accommodation.
8 minute walk to Cheddar village so able to avoid excessive parking charges in the gorge itself.
Room was clean and modern. All facilities we needed.
Fantastic and cosy location, with the comfiest beds I've ever had in a Hostel. Staff were lovely, as were the other guests who were mostly from a more family/older background.
Perfectly situated for everything in Cheddar
Property had everything we needed, was warm comfortable, perfect little get away. Brilliant staff and facilities, shop on site was also responsible priced for essentials. Close to cheddar gorge.
Lovely little place, super close to Cheddar Gorge and Caves. Really warm and cosy. Most comfortable bed and pillows I've had in an accommodation ever. The host was lovely, helpful and friendly.
The swimming pool was perfect for the heat wave in England. how many hotels have outdoor swimming pools in England? unheard of! the hosts are super nice and funny.
Very clean, immaculately decorated, beds comfy, was about 25/30 min walk into Cheddar for pubs/shops which was doable and felt like a ‘safe’ walk home late at night.
