Godshill is a small village a 10 minutes drive to Shanklin.
Godshill is a small village a 10 minutes drive to Shanklin. It has facilities only a short walk away. There are a couple of pubs, cafes and a model village. It is very peaceful and has lovely scenery with thatched cottages and farms around it. The pubs we ate in were the Griffin and the Taveners. Both pubs are suitable for children. The Griffin has a bouncy castle, a wooden train and a maze to keep the children entertained. The Taveners has outside facilities for the children. Other reviews had mentioned the potholed track leading to the property - we had no problems. Unless you arrive in a wheelchair or drive too fast, it's no problem.
