We stayed in one of the outside brick chalets, and spent the evenings in the Inn bar and it was all very pleasant. The Inn itself is full of the charm you would expect, from it’s location in the rolling hills, and both Margaret, the landlady, and the staff were lovely and charming too. Nothing was too much trouble. We intend to return at a future date.

Where we stayed was close to the main road which meant a lot of road noise at night but it was close to the town, which was worth looking around lots of little shops and on Saturday there was a Craft Market with lots of stalls selling anything from basket work, jewelry, pastries, cards, and paintings.
The townsfolk were kind, and informative, and made you feel welcome.
It all depends on why you are visiting in the first place.
We were told that as it was half term there were more children as they were visiting the theme park, there is also the horse racing track nearby

Uttoxeter is lively... especially I would guess on racing occasions the racecourse and facilities is amongst the best I have experienced anywhere and i would suggest punches way above its weight... The centre of Uttoxeter has a choice of pubs bars and eating places... I would guess it can be a little in your face at times but people having a good time have never been a problem to me... Lots of shops both local and quirky mixed with supermarkets etc...

A lovely place with a genuine traditional feel and welcome.
A lovely place with a genuine traditional feel and welcome.
It does have modern conveniences and international cuisine, but in essence Uttoxeter is unmistakeably an English town.
There are pubs, shops, and a fabulous chippy all within a few hundred metres of each other.
The place is busy on race weekends, but it is still a warm and social place on the regular days.
Easily accessed from the A50, Uttoxeter is a great location for a mini-break, it has miles of stunningly beautiful countryside, villages and hamlets all around it.
For the more adventurous Alton Towers is very nearby.

The town itself is sweet and has plenty of supermarkets...
The town itself is sweet and has plenty of supermarkets nearby plus a soft play , cinema and other shops like bm and pound land and lots of local ones on the High St. The only downside is that there is only one bus to and from alton towers and it leaves at 9.30am and comes back at 5.30pm. We had tickets booked for the afternoon swimming session so it's something to bear in mind, although my 3 year old was happy enough visiting the hotels Inc cbeebies and luckily the weather was good. I was nervous about catching the bus back as it was busy on the way in and I was worried there wouldn't be space on the return trip. Ita £10 return, Google maps takes you to the wrong bus stop aswell so would just head straight to the bus station.
All of the people I encountered were friendly and staff at the Old Swan were efficient and polite and also a lovely man in dominoes gave my daughter a bottle of juice. They seem a lot more tolerant and welcoming of children too which is a plus.

We would recommend TableTable for meals good value for money and the food was of a good standard. We went to Uttoxeter to visit The National Aboretum which we did, well worth a visit. A lot of the places we looked to visit were closed so, check on the opening times before going.
Stayed over following a trip to Alton Towers. Rebecca and David were welcoming, warm and helpful. Off street parking in a pleasant village location, just outside Uttoxeter. The rooms were well made up and bathrooms modern and clean. Breakfast options good and very tasty! Excellent recommendation from Rebecca for an evening meal at The Butchers Arms, in the nearby village of Bramshall. David also plays a very capable barman, with a good selection of beers, wines and soft drinks.
The house is lovely and Peter and Ali are amazing hosts. They are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble. You actually don’t want for anything as everything in the room including tea and coffee, water, biscuits and a fridge. Bathroom beautifully kitted out and lots of toiletries.
Breakfast was fantastic and again everything you could possibly want.
Definitely will stay again as location right near centre of Uttoxeter.
Everything was perfect. The location is excellent, it's 5 minutes walk to the town center. We stayed here to attend Uttoxeter races, this is within walking distance.
The room is very nice, it has a big ensuite and everything you need (home from home). Also as an extra bonus to the room.. the bed is really really comfortable.
Peter is a great host.
Thank you for a perfect stay 😁
Bed was large and comfy. Shower and bath were both good, really clean and with decent towels that didn't feel like sandpaper (most hotels I stay in have awful towels!). Free parking, relatively easy to find, and handy having a restaurant downstairs. Only 20 mins drive from Alton Towers, which was the reason for my stay.
The hotel was lovely. Check in was quick and easy. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was very spacious too, great shower, fabulous bath and the complimentary products were gorgeous. We ate at the restaurant for our evening meal when we arrived and that was lovely too.
Very easy to find.
In a good location, 10 minutes drive from Uttoxeter.
Nice grounds with outdoor furniture and lovely views.
Modern, well maintained building with good sized rooms.
Large kitchen area with big fridge, freezer and plenty of cooking appliances.
The hotel is a very old (250+ years), with the charm and quirks to go with it.
Room was very comfortable and clean.
The staff were welcoming and helpful.
The breakfast was excellent, and catered for my wife, who is Coeliac, with no problem at all.
Great place to stay if visiting Alton Towers as close to the station & the bus. Staff were great & very helpful. Nice room & breakfast was good with loads of choice & was bang on time which was appreciated.
It's within close proximity to Uttoxeter train station, which makes it easy to get to without a car, and allows for convenient access to the Alton Towers shuttle bus. The staff were also very friendly.
My stay at the Uttoxeter Apartments was fantastic, the Apartment well I was over the moon, it was like walking through the and finding your in the Penthouse, everything about the apartment was spot on.
Made to feel really welcome and breakfast was probably one of the best we have ever had. We will definitely return have stopped at 5 other b&bs or hotels in Uttoxeter and this accommodation is the best
We liked everything, especially the owners who were very welcoming. This was the best B&B out of a mini tour where we stayed in three other B&B's and it was by far the best and the cheapest!
Friendly, spacious room, nice breakfast, good location for our trip to alton towers, my sat nav didnt pick up the parking - but that was not the hotels fault. Cute little courtyard.
room big and clean, tea facilities were great lots of variety, warm cosy room. close to town and bar in hotel but still quiet in room. bathroom huge and loverly facilities.
