The chalet we stayed in was lovely, hidden away at the bottom of the owners' beautiful garden. The bed was huge and very comfortable. It is located in a good location with a short walk into the town centre. We were able to use a short cut through a gate at the bottom of the garden which was very convenient. Our hosts were a lovely couple, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was first rate quality, with locally sourced sausages cooked to perfection and served fresh on our veranda each morning. It was delicious and one of the best breakfasts we've had anywhere. It was a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

I know Cowes well because my mother in law lived there so for many years I regularly visited her and stayed in the town. Since she died I have not visited as often and hadn't been to the Isle of Wight for two years until I stayed this autumn. It was a quick visit, but the shops in Cowes and the waterfront areas and town beaches are always interesting. I wouldn't stay quite as late in the year again as many places shut at the end of October or by early November, and if they're not shut completely they can be quiet and shut early (eg some of the out of town shops). Even the Cowes shops were beginning to wind down about 4pm on the Saturday and there weren't many people about. So do go but the warmer months and early autumn are probably better as there's more going on and there are more options. We ate at Mojac's and the Pier Inn, both excellent places for evening meals. The Pier Inn is also a pub but has a separate dining area. It was nice to go in pubs and for them not to be crowded but they do shut bang on 11pm.

Easy access to Osborne House in East Cowes.
Easy access to Osborne House in East Cowes. Really worth a visit! The island is very small and so one can drive round it and see lots each day.. Everywhere on the island is less than 35 minutes from Cowes (in October). Lots of good restaurants in Cowes.

We love the Isle of Wight.
We love the Isle of Wight. Beautiful island and I feel so safe there. We ate at The Coast which we thoroughly recommend. Tremendous atmosphere.
When we didn't use our car we used a local taxi who were brilliant and never let us down.

We enjoyed our visit although as it was the Isle of Wight Festival during our visit traffic queues and road closures were in abundance. We spent a lovely day at the Big Cat sanctuary which was fairly empty making it a good opportunity to see the cats and talk to the keepers who are all so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Great visit. There are lots of shopping facilities, great views and lovely little hamlets and places to visit around the island. The park we stayed in was peaceful but had easy access to Cowes and to the ferry port. Friendly people and we enjoyed great weather.

We were visiting family and attending a wedding, the resort is very busy and cheerful with lovely bats, restaurants and shops and boutiques. The waterfront is very picturesque and attracts visitors of all ages. There isnt to much to do for children that i saw, but maybe thats something to look into.

We arrived on the RedJet ferry.
We arrived on the RedJet ferry. Friends gave us a lift to the B & B, but we could have walked there. Lots of nice independent shops, friendly shopkeepers. There is an ice cream hut at the beach, Cabin on the Green. We mostly walked along the esplanade to the High Street, although we also went in the opposite direction to Gurnard. The Westvale gets the sun on its patio most of the day and great for watching the sunset. We ate in The Globe, The Pier View, and The Gardens. There is a maritime museum in the library and one of the bookshops has lots of maps for walking trails. There is a floating Bridge that takes you to East Cowes. There is a bus stop at M & S food hall, but we didn't use it. Friends took us about in their car to go further afield.
Excellent location, missing my morning walks down to the beach ( about 5 minutes). Very clean with all facilities for cooking a family meal. Great sun trap of a garden . Cowes is about 20 minutes walk along the Solent watching the cruise ships go by. Parking is private and not on road, wi Fi was good ( have a teenager so was important!) The Isle of Wight is totally worth the ferry trip over, so much to do over a week!
It's so unique and it made our trip. Isle of Wight is beautiful but was made particularly special by our stay at Ward Avenue B&B. The hosts were incredibly accommodating, gave us great recommendations, brought a delicious breakfast to our cabin (vegetarian options available), and helped us enjoy our stay to the max. The room was cosy but not small, and I can't recommend it enough.
The location was great for just walking down into Cowes for shopping and evening meals out. Breakfast was really lovely and there was a great choice, pancakes were the best we’ve had anywhere! Room was really spacious and really appreciated the little touches of fresh fruit in the room, water and Kit Kats to go with the tea and coffee!
This accommodation was really good! It was perfect for what we wanted. The location was perfect - quiet and easily accessible from around the island. Clean, tidy with wonderful hosts, a lovely sea view and plenty of space. Mary even made sure we had a high chair for our little one! We had such a lovely time - we will return!
1. Fully Equipped with all the amenities.
2. Very very clean and comfortable beddings.
3. Fully functional Kitchen.
4. Car parking space.
5. Tranquil surrounding. So no hush hush of market place.
6. Indoors games were cherry on the top.
7. Prompt response from Jenny for all the queries.
8. Easy check-in and check out
The hotel has everything you would want when having a few days away. In the heart of Cowes and the main strip, and the Solent.
The decor so welcoming and great restaurant and outside amenities, bikes, heated pool.
The best breakfast I have ever had, very professional and welcoming staff.
Nearly all the staff were very friendly & helpful.
Handy location for out specific stay.
Good breakfast.
When leaving - told hotel was due an upgrade last year, but postponed due to COVID, though would have been better if told at the beginning or better still before we booked.
lovely room in a quiet house. the best thing was the garden. we were lucky enough to have great weather so could enjoy the delicious breakfast in the garden. It was great to walk out of the back gate and the enjoy a really pleasant walk into Cowes high street in 5 minutes.
We very much enjoyed our stay. Our room had spectacular views of the sea and was very spacious. All of the hotel staff were lovely and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious cooked by Michael a brilliant chef. We look forward to returning again soon.
Andy and his team were friendly, welcoming, nothing too much trouble in fact one of the best front of house staff we have encountered - we were very impressed with the hotel and the service we received . Thank you Andy.
The best way to describe this hotel is quirky, which I enjoyed enormously, full of boating memorabilia, pictures and statues, sooo much to look at! Amazing views from the room. Great breakfast as well.
Stable cottages was lovely and cozy a short walk to the beach and dog friendly. Nice welcome from the owner and nice touch with eggs and milk in fridge with tes or coffee in jars.
Great little guest house, located near the centre of Cowes. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfy and the breakfast is excellent. i always stay here when visiting for work!
Lovely, clean spot in a nice, quiet location only a couple of blocks from the shops, restaurants of West Cowes. Delicious breakfast. Looking forward to my next stay!
