Great location; easy to find and convenient for public transport. Car park was spacious and quick to check in the car for the free parking. Really welcoming and helpful staff. Breakfast plentiful, tasty and well cooked (although hashbrowns a bit rubbery after sitting a while). Rooms were sizeable with plenty of sockets.

Dalston village is beautiful, but Carlisle Town, what we saw of it was uninspiring and unattractive.
Lots of road works , confusing road systems and busy. Not a bit like the other lake district towns.
Perhaps we hadn't seen the best of it to be fair.

Quite an underrated town.
Quite an underrated town. The castle and cathedral are very interesting, plenty of history to see. I like it most because you can quite easily travel to fantastic locations from all directions; Hadrian's wall & Newcastle to the East, Ribblehead & the Lake district to the South, the scenic Cumbrian coast to the West & the Historic Southern lowlands of Scotland to the North!

Carlisle is so full of history I love the buildings eg the Cathedral, the Castle, the Citadel which is going to transformed into a university campus. The little streets are very interesting could have spent more time exploring.

Convenience as a base to visit more of Cumbria.
Convenience as a base to visit more of Cumbria. If like me you don't drive its good to have a base with plenty of public transport to enable you to see a variety of places. Carlisle itself is easy to walk round, everything within walking distance.

I was only there for a quick one-night stop.
I was only there for a quick one-night stop. The weather was so bad in the evening that I did not venture far, but I found a decent fish-and-chip shop.
Got up early in the morning and went for a walk. I did like the city centre area, and especially the historic area.
We picked this hotel for its location as was attending something at the Sands centre so location was good, not far to city centre either.
Breakfast was pretty limited and we much prefer a pot of tea or coffee on our table not having to get it out of a flask, had to wait ages for the buffet to be replenished, and it came in dribs and drabs so by time one thing was filled another was empty, couldn't get everything at same time.
Perfectly located for central Carlisle. Be aware it is a townhouse so do t expect huge gardens and total silence. It is literally a two minute walk to the Lanes Shopping Centre and central district.
The property is immaculate. With very high quality bathroom products (better than most hotels).
Good Wi-Fi for working on, tea/coffee/cafetière with real coffee in the room. Perfect wake up.
Great breakfast also.
despite appearances of a down trodden hotel in need of renovation, the building was exceptionally clean, the bedroom was a good size, the bathroom was adequate in size terms, however, they had obviously had a leak from above at some point and you could see they hadn't painted over the damp patch. but apart from that everything else was fab, a great breakfast a very comfy bed and a warm room.
My go to place in Carlisle. I like to support local businesses rather than the chain hotels where possible. Always clean and never had any problems. Had an ensuite room which was good. Always good value. Close to city centre and on a quiet street with two pubs round the corner, but never had any external noise disturbance even with the windows open. Free WiFi in room.
The hotel is very close to the M6, A69 junction near Carlisle and is perfect for a stop over. The hotel is comfortable and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed on our way up for a holiday in Scotland and liked the hotel so much we did the same on our way back. Highly recommended.
The hotel is located in a relatively quiet area outside the centre of Carlisle, although it's not too far away either. The staff were very friendly and helpful and everything seemed to work as it should. Breakfast was good and included in the very reasonable overall price. Ample parking.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a little dated but clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. The hotel is situated in the city centre which is excellent for access to all the local amenities. Carlisle is a beautiful city with lots of historical sites to visit
The location of the hotel is very good, as it's in Carlisle City Centre, and also only a few minutes away from a large supermarket. There was also a very nice breakfast included in the price as well, which meant that the room was very good value for money.
Great parking right behind the hotel. Check in was good. 2nd room was excellent with good facilities. It is right in the centre of Carlisle so you can walk to many of the main attractions. Lucy and Dale were both very good front of house.
I was upgraded to a 2 bed apt which was just lovely , very spacious and comfortable with complimentary drinks and breakfast items. Staff were very polite, courteous and helpful. Would strongly recommend the Halston Aparthotel Carlisle.
Hotel is in a small village but only a short drive from Carlisle, excellent value for the night if you don't mind staying out of the town and driving. Very friendly and helpful hotel owner.
Location close to train station and all the great things to see in Carlisle - fun trip and nice place to stay. Shower was very nice as was the bed - what more can you ask for??
Clean, quiet, and conveniently located for Hadrians Wall or activities in and around Carlisle. Friendly staff and convenient breakfast or packed lunch options for walkers.
fabulous hotel to stop outside Carlisle . i got there late so couldn’t fully enjoy the pool and spa but did get a swim in .
great evening meal and very comfortable room .
Breakfast was good, as was evening meal. Room was large spacious and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean throughout.
