Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London, hotel in London

Located on the South Bank of the Thames, Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London is set opposite the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, on the South Bank.

The location of the hotel is excellent - right in the heart of some of London's major tourist attractions and very close to Waterloo and the Underground. The room was clean and comfortable and we ordered room service one night which was speedy and delicious. The hotel was very happy to store our luggage for us for a few hours after we had checked out. We didn't have breakfast included in our rate but there is a popular Illy coffee shop in the hotel.

Park Plaza County Hall London, hotel in London

Located on London's South Bank, this modern and family-friendly hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from the River Thames and London Eye.

Perfect location in the very center of London, yet a bit away from the super busy and overcrowded areas. Ideal for families (and not only) to explore the city, on foot and using the public transport. Rooms are designed for families, with a sleeping room, a large sofa for the kids and a kitchenette. Adequate space in the room and closets to unpack and keep your clothes sorted or suitcases stored and covered. Breakfast was rich and absolutely delicious, indeed it sometimes requires a bit of patience to get a table, still it's manageable and you see the staff doing their best to satisfy all guests. We would return!

Service in the casual dining area was slow, not enough staff. As there isn't a menu provided for the Saturday morning breakfast didn't realize we paid £35 for a bowl of cereal, toast and coffee until the bill came. The concierge was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

I spent a total of 8 days in London. We went all over- I came with a friend on her first trip, so we hit a lot of the the classic highlights. That's why being near a tube station can be key - it makes getting around the City- and getting back to rest when you're exhausted so important. The markets are fun and amazing!

London is a big booming cosmopolitan city, visited lots of times to visit the numerous attractions and shows. Used the London bus system to get around the city using a bus pass, much more enjoyable than using the tube as you can observe what is going on throughout the city e.g. the buildings/sites and attractions. Too many restaurants and cuisines to choose from it is down to individual tastes. Avoid London if you do not like hustle and bustle, but we love it.

We saw a lot of the city and its sights, including British Museum, Tate Gallery, National Gallery, walked through the parks and Center (Whitehall etc.). Also, the musical "The Book of Mormon" was quite hilarious. It was a bit cloudy and chilly, but the sun peeked on us a few times. These aparthotels are located about 10 minutes walk from Aldgate East tube station which is well connected to get all over London. They are secure and accessed by key card swipe at all points of access. The room was a good size with a king size very comfortable bed. Bathroom was well equip with an excellent shower. There is a microwave, fridge and kettle in the room making breakfast easier as it is not provided at these apartments. I’ve been staying in cheap hotels part of the week for work since moving out of London about a year ago and have stayed in some ok places and some real dives (Not looking at you Forest Gate Hotel…) The Amhurst is easily the best of the lot so far. It was super clean, the owner was really friendly and it was generally cozy. Top marks. Bonus tip: ten minute walk away is a chip van that does the best fish and chips in London! The location was extremely convenient for connecting with the Heathrow express, and a good price for London. The bed was comfortable, and the bedding was actually unusually soft for a hotel room. We found the sound of the tube (which seems to run under the hotel) rather soothing, like a periodic thunder storm.
