'As Featured in House & Garden, UK August 2017' Right on the edge of the caribbean sea, very peaceful, set in 25 acres (10 hectares) of private land surrounded by unspoilt nature. The rooms are very spacious, well built, overlooking the sea. The covered roof terrace gives you a panoramic view of the area including Saona and Catalina islands. Our pool is sea water and you can swim in the sea when calm. Your rooms are 60 m from our family home where we live with our 5 children (12-2 y.o) Ki-Ra means place of the Earth Spirit in Taino, the indigenous language of Hispaniola, and is an Holistic Wellness center. We offer holistic treatments, yoga and mediation classes, events and retreats or just a getaway from the bustle of city life. There are many birds, butterflies and plant species at Ki-Ra which we are happy to show you or let you discover for yourself on a variety of nature walks. You can hike along the coast and we have bicycles that you can rent. We often do bonfires on the beach and enjoy the stars at night. Here you can be as involved or as private as you like. Welcome

We have life long ties to the Dominican Republic, having grown up here but are originally from the UK. We are interested in developing a different, more connected and harmonious way of living, perhaps kinder than much of the modern world although we are not at all fundamentalist in our beliefs:) Rather we believe that everyone has their way and we like to honour that. We have 5 young children, animals and lots on our plate so we are in constant evolution. I am a naturopathic doctor, with special interest in ayurveda and holistic practices. We love to share our idea of paradise, enjoy having people around and are open to learn from everyone. Ki-Ra is a space being co-created by everyone who comes, so feel free to get involved! We are a little remote, 7km from the motorway, down a dirt "caliche" track, 20 minutes from the nearest towns of La Romana and Bayahibe and 1 km from the small Dominican fishing village of Boca Chavon. You will need transport to get to any restaurants or shops, apart from very basic stores in the village (we can provide lunch or dinner on prior request). If you want to discover typical Dominican life, you can take a walk to the village of Boca Chavon and meet the people. If you want sports, you can head over to Casa de Campo across the river, a beautiful resort full of activities, restaurants, sporting activities and more.
