The very first comment by guests usually is: it's so BIG :-) YES by today's standards It is BIG but that's what we all like and enjoy ! It has 3 m high ceilings and enough room around your bed not to bump into things when walking to the toilet at night :-) This flat has always been called a 'garden flat' as it's on the ground floor and the door lead right outside into the garden. It used to be for a family of the house's gardener to be on hand for the garden work.

I am Jan, 40 years old Czech. I have traveled the world a bit and I wish such a wide choice of accommodation was available than. Through this contact with a true local it makes you feel more comfortable going out, knowing the right places to see, dine, have fun and also to avoid. I like meeting new people with various backgrounds and to practise understanding different accents of english. I am fluent only in english and my native tongue is czech. My german, spanish and russian that I filled here are very basic so do not expect an abundant conversation in those languages :-)

The true PRAGUE lies outside and your location is just perfect for exploring the city by walk. The 'Vinohrady' neighborhood consist mainly of residential houses built in late 19-th and early 20-th century. It's a prime residential area so by walking the street you can explore the life of the city. As the name 'Vinohrady' suggests it used to be an area where just outside the walled historical city, the vine was grown on large vineyards. There is just one last vineyard left in 'Vinohrady' these days and it's at your backyard :-) You do not have to cross a street to get there ! You can also reach the 'Old town square' by walk in 30 min, anyway for exploring the historical city center you are better of by taking the legendary public tram 22, which goes right through al the highlights and is by itself the best sightseeing tour on offer :-) The tram stop is about 5 min walk from your place and it takes about 10 min to reach the historical centre.
