This property is outstanding. It sits way above the town of Minca and the views are spectacular. As everyone says you do need a 4x4 to get there but the hotel can help you arrange. We were travelling as a family of 5 and I didn’t feel comfortable with my kids on the back of the moto taxis, but the 4x4s are very available too.
The restaurants offers simple but lovely meals and and the cabins seemed new and well cared for.
Everyone in my family agreed this was the highlight of our trip.

It was an unforgettable experience walking through nature, seeing the rivers and waterfalls. The variety of birds, the tranquility of being surrounded by so many sounds, breathtaking sunsets. I truly enjoyed the whole experience and place. Will do it again, highly recommended.

Lovely place to see birds, swim in some waterfalls, have some good coffee and chocolate on farms, get some craft beer. Very hot though— stay hydrated and pack sunscreen. I would recommend this place and advise hiking around to enjoy the nature.

Loved Minca so much.
Loved Minca so much. The town feels very catered to tourists and it was hard to find a cheap, local restaurant with a menu del dia for example but there are lots of good western-ish options and the wildlife/surrounding area is so beautiful. Highly recommend the Cerro Kennedy hike (stay at El Ramo) too.

Minca is a fantastic place to visit to get a sense of the mountainous area of Colombia and its lush and alluring jungle with all the glory of its flora and fauna. Only a short drive from the Santa Marta airport, you find ourself in a little village that is a haven to hikers, motocross bikers, and bird watchers. There are many places to eat with a variety of cuisines and for the most part the food was good. Our favorite activity was birdwatching. We had fantastic outings booked through Jungle Joe. Our guides Tony Martin and Gustavo Viloria were both extremely professional and informed. We loved the La Vittoria Coffee Plantation tucked away in the jungle. Another favorite was Rio Elemento, a hotel/restaurant on the banks of the river with an awesome swing that carries you over the rushing waters.

It is very pretty and I appreciated the access to other types of food since we had been traveling the Colombia for a bit and had been exclusively eating traditional colombian food. You cannot speak about Minca without mentioning the bugs, they are terrible! the worse part is you don’t really see them or know when you are being bit. You just look down and your legs are covered in bites. Also there is a new age spirituality vibe that is strongly felt in the town.

It’s not a party town but it’s beautiful, scenic, has lovely waterfalls! Nice place to wind down after long hikes. Either take mototaxis everywhere is you don’t want to walk or hike! Ask for a helmet!
Beautiful hostel!! You opt in for meals (no common kitchen) but the food was probably the best I’ve had in Colombia, and all vegetarian, which was a pleasant surprise! Great portion sizes and very well priced. Lots of activities around. Awesome view. Fantastic Stay! The hostel is located up on a mountain so it is something to consider when looking to do activities in town (that’s why you get the amazing sunset view). Very easy moto ride to town and lots to do at the hostel so we didn’t really feel the need to leave.

Everything was perfect, really. One of the best hostels in Colombia !!!
-Social jungle vibe. We met so many great people here! (would stay here 4 nights at least)
-The private rooms are just stunning and beautiful!
-The location, infinity pool & and the view just breathtaking!!! :)
- We enjoyed the Happy-Hours at the Bar and Yoga in the morning.
-Massage the shamanic one 👌(different but great)
- We would recommend to take the car up from Minca Town. It is quite a ride up there!
I was in doubt when I found out how far from Minca this location is (from Minca bus terminal 45min by moto) but it was one of the best decisions and favorite stays in Colombia!
Staff was very kind (Doris and two girls on their workaway, thank you for everything!), I was lucky enough that on the 1th night I was the only one in the dorm (which btw offers amazing view over Sierra Nevada!), food was really good, place is quite,... so make sure you will come for more than one night :)
I would put La Casa Del Mono as a definitive must stay for Colombia! If your trip isn’t already including Minca, then make a detour and spent at least a couple of nights here.
Beautiful and modern cabin with an amazing location granting the best sunset views of the valley stretching all the way to Santa Marta. The host was fantastic and spoke perfectly English, we got tons of tips for the surrounding area that really helped us get the most out of the trip.
One of the best places I've stayed in Colombia in the past 10 years! Stunning boutique hostel (although it's more like a hotel), fantastic food, beautiful decor, amazing views from the restaurant and pool area, wonderful staff (especially Joanna, who makes the best passion fruit caprioska!) It's so elegant and stylish without being pretentious, even down to the music they play...........whoever's design and concept this was, they have great taste!
The views from our cabin were really incredible. The hotel is situated further up the hills from Minca than other places we stayed, they had less mosquitos and much better views of the mountains. The main road to get there from Minca was under construction so our moto-taxi took the alternate road. It was a wild ride! We took a 4x4 car ride down the hotel one time - it was much less of a scary trip but it took more than twice as long.
It’s a beautiful property with a lot of charm - the farm birds and cats were awesome to interact with, the room is beautiful and spacious with a super comfortable bed, and Nore is incredibly kind and so accommodating! Breakfast was great as well. Really enjoyed hanging out at Minca Glamping during the day - it’s a great place to just relax.
Great staff and place to stay. Wonderful breakfast. Nice to have a pool to cool off in after hiking back from the falls.
Lots of sitting area around the pool and up in the breakfast area. Great view of the mountains and down in to Santa Marta from the roof top. Oh and the best hot shower we have had in Colombia.
Beautifully luxurious domes and hotel property with a stunning view over the rolling green mountains all the way to the sea. You can see the sunset (clouds permitting) from the hot tub. A perfect, tranquil location and one of our favourite accommodations during our time in Colombia. Not cheap but worth it.
Great view, cosy common areas and the friendliest hosts I've had the pleasure of staying at during my month in Colombia. They will go the extra mile to ensure you are enjoying your stay and give ample suggestions on activities during your stay. Fresh & filtered water and even hot showers available as well.
One of the best stays we had in Colombia! Very friendly and helpful staff. We were the only accommodation on the whole hill and had a beautiful sunset view with a bonfire. The house was very clean and well prepared against mosquitoes. We really enjoyed the stay, highly recommended!
Waking by the sound of the bird almost totally in the middle of nature was a very good experience. It was only 20 min by foot from Minca city center, and you easily access to waterfalls and good hikes around the accommodation. Really, my highlight in my Colombian trip
The hostel was beautiful, the pictures on booking.com are accurate. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was also delicious, we ate lunch and dinner at the hostel. Would highly recommend for a stay in beautiful Minca
This place is the perfect jungle getaway in colombia. The food in their restaurant was the best i ate in any hostel or hotel in colombia, It was really really good. The views are breathtaking and the staff was super welcoming.
one of the most beautiful views in Colombia
comfortable and not too large place, feels there is space for all the guests to feel good
amazing vegetarian meals (very reasonably priced)
friendly and helpful staff
Amazing location, views and super helpful staff. A great place for a circuit breaker if travelling around Colombia. Minca seemed crazy, whereas this was a tranquil escape. Food great as well!
Beautiful spot on the river, which you can access via a gate to swim/wad in. Good location in town and yet still quiet. A very nice looking hotel with great seating areas to hang out.
Amazing location, tranquil, nature all around. Perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Colombia. The only noise at night is listening to a waterfall.
