Talca's got a very different vibe to other cities in the area. It's a great base for visiting Altos de Lircay National Park, and if you get the first bus there and the last bus back you can do the Enladrillado hike which is spectacular!

In my mind, Talca itself is not an interesting city at all.
In my mind, Talca itself is not an interesting city at all. However, it's a very good stepping point from which to visit Vilches, a village in the magnificent Andes mountains, and wineries in the Maule river valley.

The property sits in the middle of a lush environment with streams and beautiful gardens. There are goats, chickens, geese, rabbits a cat and 2 cute friendly little dogs ☺️ We loved it here. The owners were also extremely helpful and could advise us on the best treks in the area as well as the flora and fauna. Our room was lovely with a nice balcony, and the breakfast room was gorgeous. The location was great because it is near a square, with several restaurants and bars nearby. One of the staff recommended a restaurant to us (Pisco Lima), and even made suggestions on what to order. We thought it was one of the best meals we had during our month-long trip to Chile.

Even for Chilean standards Pia and Kay are the nicest people you will meet. They were super helpful in everything we needed and made us feel totally at home.
