Welcome to our little retreat in the Beaches area of Toronto. Our basement suite is 20 sq.m (215 sq ft); It is composed by a large room 4x4 m (13x13 ft) with - heated floor - a very comfortable full size bed, with a medium/firm hybrid mattress with individually wrapped pocket springs and a layer of memory foam, memory foam mattress pad on top and a choice of 3 different pillow style (ergonomic pillow, feathers high and feathers low) - a table with chairs, - a food preparation zone with fridge, toaster, microwave, coffee maker and kitchen essentials (microwaveable pots and pans, plates and cutlery, basic utensils, glasses and mugs) - a corridor and - a bathroom with shower and bathroom essentials (soap, shampoo, conditioner and body shower). Please note the suite does not have a stove, but it has a microwave. The barbecue is available and shared with us. Please clean it if you use it. Our suite has a separate private entrance. Free use of the garden and direct entrance to the park leading to the beach (2 minutes walk to the beach through the park). You can spend your time wandering the city or reading one of our books at the beach or the park. We value the flexibility our 30-day free cancellation policy offers you. Yet, as a cozy, one-room retreat, last-minute cancellations greatly affect our small business. We've noticed an increasing trend of reservations being canceled just before the 30-day mark, which hinders our ability to welcome others eager to visit. I'm a graphic designer and a ceramist. I came to hosting when my children left for university leaving me with more space than I need. I'm very fortunate because I live in a truly amazing place and I love sharing with my guests this little corner of the world. I speak English and Italian; I live in the apartment above the suite and I am available for general help and advice if needed.

The Suite is located in a typical house on a tree-lined avenue south of Queen Street in the Beaches neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is so named because of its four beaches situated on Lake Ontario. It is located east of downtown within the "Old" City of Toronto. The commercial district of Queen Street East lies at the heart of The Beaches community. The Beaches is characterized by a large number of independent boutiques and restaurants along Queen Street East. The side streets are mostly lined with semi-detached and large-scale Victorian, Edwardian and new-style houses. There is an extensive park system along the Waterfront as well as a parks that follow a ravine that bisects the neighbourhood from North to South at Glen Manor Road. The beach itself is a single uninterrupted stretch of sandy shoreline. A long boardwalk runs along most of its length with a portion of the Martin Goodman Trail bike path running parallel. There are four beaches: Balmy Beach, Scarboro Beach, Kew Beach and Woodbine Beach. Woodbine Beach and Kew-Balmy Beach are Blue Flag certified for cleanliness and are suitable for swimming. The Suite is 50 meters from Woodbine Beach.
