Situated alongside the coast in North York Moors National Park, YHA Boggle Hole is next to a bay that was once an infamous smuggler’s cove. The property is set over 2 buildings, including an old mill and there are picnic areas and a courtyard.

The majority of rooms contain bunk beds.

The evening meal was tasty and filling and good bottled beer available. The bed was comfortable and the shower very clean and powerful. The setting of an interesting building could not be bettered. Staff friendly and atmosphere the most genuinely relaxed I've experienced. Lots of books to read and local information.

Great location and house, second to none but.... be aware that the booking company "host and stay" would not give us access to the keys until I paid 25 quid for an insurance policy I did not need. Verges on a scam so read the small print. House also had cheap and broken chairs just left in the divining room and a broken oven door that was not fixed, despite the fact the company told us not to use it; great for self catering. Great house, shocking management

Great location, decent sized bathroom. Cheap(ish) and cheerful, just what we needed for a weekend away.

Great Location!! Clean and room was lovely and bright! Warm and comfy room as well. I stayed with my little boy too he loved it just as much. Only thing as this is personal preference the pillows were a little hard for me but that’s just personal preference. Brreakfast wad lovely and the tea and coffee/biscuit selection was nice. I loved the fresh water and also the option for fresh milk was a lovely touch! Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for making my little boy and me feel safe and welcome. 😊

Great location, so near the beach and not far from the town centre! Loved the room - it was like a bedsit, self-contained, very secure. I felt safe - a big plus as travelling solo and the bed was so comfortable! Kerry and Jason make you feel so welcome and they cannot do enough for you. Best full English that I have ever had - not swimming in grease, which I loved. Please visit this outstanding establishment, you won't be disappointed! P.S Thank you both, I will be back!

I was dubious about going to a Youth Hostel but it was amazing. The staff were all really friendly, the room was warm and spacious. The food available from the cafe was delicious.

Friendly, lots of space. Kids loved it and I felt they were safe. Key card entry to the main building. Nice cafe on site open from 7:30 till 8:30pm. Big kitchen to use yourself for making meals with plenty of appliances, pots pans, cutlery and crockery. Great location for everything in Whitby. We would go again to this one and would like to try more of them. Small car park on site but we parked in the main car park on the Headland as we had very little luggage.

The place was so grotty we didn’t want to risk breakfast - the room had dirty finger marks over the walls and the bathroom tiles were dirty the whole floor was tired and like a poorly kept youth hostel rather than a £170 a night hotel - I come from a hotel background and it was the worst Value for money hotel I had ever stayed in . The bedroom furniture was old and cheap looking. The water was warm but not hot. Thank god for the sea and sands to escape out of the grim place to.
