It was an amazing experience to stay at Straven Guesthouse. I felt at home, the bed was very comfortable and the room was beautiful and warm. Breakfast was a whole variety of delicious dishes, home made and beautiful. The sea front is only a few steps away and I enjoyed walking along the sea promenade to the cafés - and walking along the sea shore. I felt looked after and cared for by Sinead and Chris. The guest house was a second home to us. The owner was very kind and our room was just the right size with everything we could have hoped for. Buses into town are only 5 minutes apart. There is a parking lot right across the street without a parking fee. Great stay!

Amazing house and perfect location - 40 min by bus to Edinburg. There is a bus stadion just next to The house - line no 3 that goes directly to The city center.

Everything!! It is even better than all the famous hotel chains I have ever lived in. Abe is so friendly and detail oriented. I need to leave early in the morning and he prepared the breakfast and sent to me at 6:45am, which is impressive and helpful for the full day travel. Hotel room is spacious and clean, you have everything. There is also a bus 44 right in front of the house, so quite convenient. If I come to Edinburgh again, for sure I will book again.

It was more than we ever expected … gorgeous property & accomodation . Very comfortable . A quiet retreat if you want to just relax & reflect . Close to Edinburgh ( 20 minute train ride ) for a day trip from Glenarch House . Would recommend the train to Waverley station in Edinburgh . It’s a self catering property , so will need to work out meals for yourselves . Morrisons ( a supermarket) is relatively close for grocery shopping .

No complaints about the facilities if you needed to cook for yourself or any washing as full use of modern kitchen. Bedroom was spotless also shower room it was on small side but everything you needed. Communal sitting room if you wanted . This accommodation is suited more for younger guests but we were comfortable enough and room was warm if you wanted.

With a supermarket next door and bus stop across the street, there could not be a better location. The USB ports in the kitchen and magnetic charger in the bed lamp are a relief for those who have no GB adapter for the cell phone.
