If you miss your host after leaving it means it was a special time you shared with him. Giovanni is one of the most generous, cheerful and friendly man we have ever met. We visited many towns and villages in Tuscany (my first time and my wife's ninth) and there's no other place we felt a real soul of the region more than in "Agriturismo San Giovanni". Indeed, Siena, Pisa are highlights but no city can compete with an authentic, idyllic and calm property out of clamour, surrounded by an olive grove, tucked away in the majestic hills of Tuscany. I won't speak about all advantages of an amazing full equipped apartment we rent. That's obvious. Giovanni produces also delicious Grappa, Vin Santo, red wine, virgin olive oil, prosciutto. He has eggs, figs, grapes, lemons, pomegranates, basils, tomatos and much more he will share with you. What's more on the day of our arrival a special gift awaited us in the kitchen. I hope some day we will come back to chill out at the swimming pool facing the olive grove and listen to the sound of cicadas.

Everything about Villa Alari was perfect. The Villa and room were very charming, exactly what we envisioned Tuscany to be. We would stay again and recommend anyone to stay here. Location in beautiful Tuscany vinyard with a local fox visitor nightly. The rooms were well air conditioned. The pool was amazing with friendly guests. The dinners were 5 star and the chef was incredible.

The staff was exceptional and we felt taken care of at every turn. The property was peaceful and beautiful. Even when the pool area was full, it was quiet and tranquil. Beautiful vistas from the bedroom balconies. Warmth and kindness of Renato. And although we didn’t use the pool it offered a great location to sip wine and relax.

The property is very close to Chiusi, a small town with a nice center and good restaurants, walking distance. The house’s owner is very flexible with the breakfast which is rich and diverse. Signora Paola, the owner, is such a nice person, always smiling and kind.

You definitely need a car to get here as the farm is located 2 hrs from the Rome airport (FCO), 1 hr from Florence and Siena, 1hr 40 min from San Gimignano, 20 min from Montepulciano. We stayed in a villa (2 bedroom, 1.5 baths and kitchen) for 8 nights at the beginning of September. We had a nice patio with a table, chairs and an umbrella where we had our breakfast every morning. Beds were hard (we liked that). Pools and a lake are located away from the house with apartments and the villa (need to walk ~7-10 min by the area where animals, such as pigs, sheep, and chickens, live). Only hand soap is provided, so on the way from the airport we got paper towels, shampoo and body wash as well as some food. The supermarket is only 10 min drive from the farm. If you need an iron, request it in advance. The farm has a lot of fruit trees (cherry plum, figs, pomegranate) that we picked from. We did a private wine and cured meat tasting and it was amazing thanks to Simi who was taking care of us during our stay. If you are not afraid of insects (there are a lot of them as well as scorpios) and the farm life (think of animal noises when you wake up), want to be closer to the nature and experience the freshest air and beautiful views, I highly recommend you stay here.
