On this active tour, you’ll explore the Sri Lankan tea scene and embark on a challenging cycling trail. You’ll meet your guide at the Ceylon Tea Museum in Kandy and have free time to explore the museum’s two floors, seeing tea-processing machinery and relics from history. You can also visit the library on the third floor or have a cup of tea in the cafe.
Beginning your trail, you’ll cycle down a path that winds through the Hanthana Tea Plantation. Here, you’ll watch the tea pickers at work and take in amazing views of the landscape. You’ll cover 55 km in total and have plenty of opportunities to stop and speak to the tea pickers and learn about the different types of tea.
