During this tour, you will get the chance to visit four historical places in Sri Lanka’s history. You’ll start by visiting two sacred Buddhist temples; one houses a 160-feet tall statue of seated Buddha and a Tunnel of Hell which has life size statues depicting the torments and horrors of hell. The second temple- Weherahena Poorwarama, is the first tunnel temple in the world. Here you can view the 130-feet Buddha image that was constructed after the Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa eras.
You can then head to the Mr. Martin Wickramasinghe Ancestral Home and Folk Museum for a tour of the property. This museum pays homage to one of the most influential authors of his time. To round off the tour, you can make your way to the Japanese Peace Pagoda, where you can watch the sunset with an amazing view of the ocean.
